Tang Qing’s secretary’s eyes widened when he heard that.
‘Are you crazy, Mr. Tang? Second Young Mistress Huo is trying to cheat you out of money, yet you still took the initiative to give her the money?’
As the last item was brought up for auction, Tang Qing appeared on the stage.
He had changed into a white suit at some point, and his hair was combed back and waxed. He looked just like a decently-dressed scumbag.
The auctioneer immediately handed the microphone to Tang Qing as soon as he saw him appear.
Tang Qing put one hand in his trouser pocket and grabbed the microphone with his other. “I’m buying this painting.”
After he finished speaking, everyone fell silent.
‘Isn’t he the owner of this auction house? Why sis he buying it?’ They wondered.
Tang Qing looked at Yan Jinyi and said, “This painting for Second Young Mistress Huo. It’s worth a million yuan, Second Young Mistress Huo, do you like it?”
Yan Jinyi who was napping while resting her head on Huo Xishen’s shoulder, suddenly sat up straight and glanced at the painting. She said with a smile, “Mr. Tang, you’re being too polite. How can I turn your goodwill down?”
Tang Qing glanced at Huo Xishen somewhat provocatively and said, “Good that you like it, Second Young Mistress Huo, I have many of such things here. If you like them, feel free to come to my home whenever you wish.”
Yan Jinyi nodded, and then looked at Huo Xishen with contempt. “Look how generous Mr. Tang is, as a CEO, are you ashamed?”
“The world out there is dangerous and full of vicious people.”
Yan Jinyi secretly thought, ‘Can they be as vicious as you?’
Everyone knew how vicious and cunning Huo Xishen was.
“Jinyi, that painting is the work of a renowned artist from overseas. His paintings weren’t worth much when he was alive but they were suddenly hailed as masterpieces after his life,” Shen Yan explained while scrutinizing the painting on display on the stage. “It’s too commercialized but since it’s a gift from Mr. Tang, you should accept it.”
Yan Jinyi nodded. ‘Who cares if it’s commercialized or not? As long as it’s valuable, it’s good.’
The auction had already ended and a staff wearing a tight dress that showed off her slender figure, strutted over elegantly. “Second Young Mistress Huo, Mr. Tang would like you to go to his office.”
Yan Jinyi suddenly got up and was just about to raise her leg but Huo Xishen suddenly said slowly, “There is indeed a plot of vacant land halfway up that mountain, Darling, if you…”
‘Vacant land?’
Yan Jinyi sat down again and said with a sweet smile, “Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Tang, my husband doesn’t like the painting you gave me so I… shall reject it.”
After saying that, she felt the huge pinch, as if a chunk of her flesh was gone.
Shen Yan secretly chuckled. ‘Xishen knows that Jinyi is a money-grubber.’
The staff nodded while sighing. ‘Rich people just live differently. They don’t even want a gift that’s worth a million yuan! I’m so envious…’
When the staff relayed the conversation between Yan Jinyi and Huo Xishen to Tang Qing, Tang Qing’s handsome face was slightly distorted.
‘Huo Xishen, you cunning fox, I’ll spell my name backwards if I don’t steal your wife from you! Damn it, ugh what a scum.’
“What else does Second Young Mistress Huo like besides money?” Tang Qing asked his secretary coldly.
