At the shopping mall that was exclusive only to rich and wealthy families, Shen Yi made sure that no one was following them. Lu Xinyi was in a good mood as she held Shen Yi’s arm. She and her husband hadn’t gone out in a public place for some time although his disguise today made him look a pop idol than a stiff businessman that he was.
How the heck did he manage to look younger with just donning a simple white shirt, a pair of jeans and a plain black jacket? Lu Xinyi, on the other hand, was wearing a loose shirt and tight jeans that outlined her curves.
While Lu Xinyi didn’t have massive melons that most men preferred to their woman, Shen Yi liked her slightly chubby thighs, well-defined hips and his personal favorite – her rounded backside.
She was a little shorter than women on her age but Shen Yi liked how she perfectly complemented him. He took pleasure whenever his hands touch her body and could fill his palm with her pale soft skin. He hoped she wouldn’t lose the extra weight that filled her nicely. If the food was enough to sustain it, he will gladly give her all the dishes she craves.
They went window shopping and she tried every clothes that she liked as well as the elegant dresses that Shen Yi picked for her. Taking a quick look at the selection he made, Lu Xinyi realized that her husband’s taste on clothing styles was better than her.
“Are you sure you want me to try all of these?” she asked, holding a blue dress on one hand.
“Just try it and let me see if it looks good on you.” Shen Yi settled himself on a seat with several shopping bags beside him and waited for his wife to try the dresses.
“Are you planning to turn me into a doll? This is so feminine.” Lu Xinyi didn’t like too girly stuff. She wasn’t even comfortable wearing a dress nevertheless, she obeyed her husband since he was the one paying for her purchases.
Lu Xinyi was busy changing and trying the clothes but Shen Yi was feeling exhausted. Was this the reason why husbands don’t like to accompany their wives to shop? Where are all those energies coming from these women anyway?
Looking at Lu Xinyi’s happy face, he also felt happy and content seeing that she was enjoying her time with him. The three months time remaining for them kept reminding Shen Yi that he will eventually need to let her go for the meantime. For how long? He didn’t have an idea but he would never dare for her to fail the exam just to keep her by his side.
A thought occurred to him. Remembering the report Qiao He given to him before about Lu Xinyi, he discovered that she didn’t have good childhood years. He hoped that his love would be enough to help Lu Xinyi to forget all the pain she endured alone in her life, and allow her to live a happy life with him.
“How do I look?” Lu Xinyi pushed the curtain open and twirled around for him to see the dress.
“Perfect.” Shen Yi nodded. The blue dress made a perfect contrast on her pale skin that it made her more beautiful when she blushes. “Do you want to take them all or you’ll have what you want?” ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
Lu Xinyi tapped a finger on her chin. She actually liked the three dresses he picked earlier but each of them was too expensive to her liking. Out of the three dresses, she liked what she was wearing the most. Noticing her hesitation, Shen Yi stood up, adjusted his eyeglasses and took the other dresses she tried earlier.
“You know, you can take them all if you want. Money isn’t a problem.” he reminded her.
The pout on his wife’s face was almost comical.
“Hubby is such a bully. I said I couldn’t be his trophy wife but it seems he forgets that he bribed me with burgers and steaks, not his bottomless bank account.”
“Oh? My bad. Sorry, I forgot.” Shen Yi patted her head. “Do you want to eat now or you can still wait until dinner?”
His wife gasped in response.
“Can we have a snack before we go home? Please?” she begged.
“Sure,” Did he really had the heart to say no?
They left the boutique after paying the items she’d chosen. With both hands holding the shopping bags, Shen Yi let his wife linked her arm into his as they walked out of the shopping mall.
When they passed a group of rich ladies, Lu Xinyi failed to notice one familiar face on the group but the old woman saw her. She kept a close watch on the married couple until they vanished in the distance.
“Ruying, isn’t that the girl your niece? I thought she isn’t a part of your family, how come she’s allowed to enter this place? Did she get married already? Look how happy they are! Her man must have come from a prominent family too, don’t you think?” exclaimed one of the rich ladies beside Sun Ruying.
“Yes! Look at the amount of shopping bags they have. She must have been pampered well by her husband.” added by another lady.
“They look that they’re really into each other. I thought you said that she’s dating a financial analyst?”
“Might be a model. He looks so cool and charismatic.”
Hearing her friends chatting about Lu Xinyi, Sun Ruying’s heart was filled with rage. What? Her niece was living a good life?
Whenever she sees her niece or someone mentions Lu Xinyi’s name, she couldn’t help but seeth in anger. She’d already beaten and eliminated Sun Meixiu, but her half-sister’s daughter was such a thorn in her side. She’ll have to deal with Lu Xinyi sooner or later.
