Wen Shufen opened the apartment she shared with her lover. Since her lover was a married man and a government official, their meetings were kept secret especially because Official Ding’s wife was known for her fiery attitude.
Once she stepped inside, Wen Shufen found shoes on the doorway, indicating that her lover was inside waiting for her. She couldn’t stop the grin that spread across her face when she thought about how she could get even with Lu Xinyi by seeking her lover’s help.
She found him in the living room, sitting on the couch; but what startled her was that he didn’t bother to turn on the lights. He sat still in his place even though he was aware that she arrived.
“Dear, why didn’t you turn on the lights? If I didn’t see your silhouette, I might think that someone broke in to harass me,” Wen Shufen joked after turning on the lights, dispelling the darkness and coldness she could feel inside their apartment.
Official Ding kept his silence, informing Wen Shufen that he was in a terrible mood.
“Dear, did something wrong happen at work? Won’t you tell me what troubles you?” She tried to use her charm to persuade him again.
Whenever he was like this, Wen Shufen only needed to use her charm and seduce him into bed to get everything she wanted. Official Ding was already in his late forties, but his charm and vitality were still admirable at his age. With his wealth and status, Wen Shufen didn’t mind becoming his other woman.
While he had his wife to parade to everyone and to lavish with jewelry and pretty dresses, Wen Shufen was the one who pleased him in bed, giving the satisfaction he could never have from his wife. This was the simple reason why Official Ding adored her; even if she was mischievous at times, he tolerated her behavior.
However, tonight was different from the last time. As soon as her hands touched his arms, Official Ding snapped out and slapped Wen Shufen right in her face. She staggered on her feet and fell to the floor. Her eyesight was hard to focus as she suddenly felt dizzy after the impact of the slap on her face.
“Slut! Didn’t I tell you to behave and don’t bring me problems!” Official Ding roared at Wen Shufen’s face, making her ears hurt from his sudden outrage.
“Dear, what did I do? Tell me what’s wrong! I’ll never do it again. Please!” Wen Shufen got down on her knees, hoping he’d calm down and tell her what was happening.
“What you did wrong?” The man sneered on her questions. He must be truly blind to keep someone as dumb as Wen Shufen by his side. Even his wife hadn’t given him a problem as big as Wen Shufen did.
“You know well what you did, Shufen! You must be really tired of living to offend Shen Yi’s woman! Even the president of this country will think twice… No, think a thousand times before he dares to offend the Shen family, but you… you really got the nerve to wake up the sleeping lion?!” he shouted in her face.
So it was that woman again! Wen Shufen gritted her teeth when she realized it was all because of Lu Xinyi again.
To think that President Shen would go to this extent to protect Lu Xinyi… she really underestimated Lu Xinyi this time! ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
“Dear, don’t overthink. This is just a misunderstanding between me and Lu Xinyi. I don’t mean any harm to her.”
Tears started to flow down her cheeks giving her best to act pitiful and innocent under his gaze. Women who act like this always moved men’s sympathy, making them want to protect their innocence. Then again, this time, Official Ding saw through her lies.
“Misunderstanding? Hahaha! You must be thinking I’m naive and oblivious to your lies, Shufen! Didn’t I tell you to stop bothering and bullying people for who knows where the fuck they come from? Yet, now as I confront you, you still got the nerve to act innocent and lied to me with a straight face!”
Official Ding threw a folder on her face. Papers flew out of it surprising Wen Shufen. As each sheet fell on the floor, the color on her face vanished as she realized what it was.
All of it was the evidence that she was the one who instigated to harm Han Yixin using the paparazzi she paid. Although she didn’t use her personal email to contact them, she was traced back using the IP address which led to the same apartment they were staying in. Even the bank transactions showed that the money that she sent to pay those paparazzi traced back to her account.
“This…” she was truly lost for words. Who had the ability to trace her and stop her plans to ruin Han Yixin and Lu Xinyi?
“What? Are you still going to deny it? Not only had you tried to scheme against Han Yixin but also dragged Lu Xinyi’s name on it! Have you forgotten the rules I set so you can attend Silver Leaf?”
“I-I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I’ll apologize to Lu Xinyi at once. I’m sure if she accepts my apology, President Shen would calm down and wouldn’t bother you again. She’s his girlfriend after all. President Shen must felt he needed to give her some face because of what happened between me and Lu Xinyi,” Wen Shufen said desperately. She couldn’t bear to lose her lover’s support, but she tried to reason out why Shen Yi would protect Lu Xinyi that much.
“You dumb bitch! I really don’t know what I’ve seen in you that you couldn’t take a hint between President Shen and Lu Xinyi. Do you think he will dare to threaten me and my position if Lu Xinyi is just a temporary girlfriend he’s keeping with him?!”
His intense anger surged to the next level. This woman was so dumb she would probably die without knowing the reason behind it.
“Slut!” Official Ding gave her another slap on her face. “You are so dumb! Where’s your brain when you need it? Of all the people you try to bully and offend, it has to be Lu Xinyi? Lu Xinyi, the Young Madam of the Shen family?!”
Wen Shufen was in a daze, slumped on the floor, as she tuned out the words being said by her lover.
Did he just say Lu Xinyi was the young madam of the Shen family? Lu Xinyi was President Shen’s wife?!
So Lu Xinyi’s confidence and arrogance weren’t only backed up by her skills and talent in cooking. It was also because she had the demon king on her back, ready to protect her to anyone who tries to hurt her.
Wen Shufen felt all her hopes crushed down. She was doomed from the start. She was nothing against the little miss devil all this time.
“I didn’t know… I really didn’t know she was President Shen’s wife! They never revealed or announced it to the public,” she defended.
“Ha! You really think highly of yourself, Shufen!” Official Ding said with sarcasm. After this, he had no plans on keeping this woman on his side. Who knew what would Shen Yi do if he still dared to keep Wen Shufen? He could not compromise his status and work over this woman!
“Does President Shen owe everyone an explanation about his marriage? Does he need to ask the public for permission to marry Lu Xinyi? His marriage and his life was his private matter. Who do you think you are to question his decisions in life?”
