The newcomer wasn’t even bothered to figure out what had happened. He attacked Xiang Shaoyun the moment he arrived. Surprisingly, the newcomer was a pseudo-God. His attack was valiant as numerous blades of wind shot toward Xiang Shaoyun.
With the divine dao eyes active, Xiang Shaoyun drew his energies of yin and yang, formed the Yin Yang Shield before him, and diverted all the incoming attacks. Even so, the impact still managed to push him back.
Over the past few days, Xiang Shaoyun had grown by leaps and bounds. He was now a peak fourth-stage Heaven Battling Realm cultivator, all thanks to his repeated battles against Gods. A large portion of the two strands of God Realm energy in his astral cosmos sea had been digested.
Unfortunately, his cultivation level was still too lacking against an opponent like this. His main body might be able to barely contend against a regular pseudo-God, but only his clone could deal with a pseudo-God capable of punching above his class. The newcomer did not intend to stop attacking. He pushed on, but fortunately, a second newcomer stopped him and said, “Zi Ming, calm down. Figure out the truth before fighting.”
“What is there to figure out? That kid must have been so arrogant that he decided to wound Young Master Xinghe. We can’t spare him!” said the middle-aged man called Zi Ming. He then ignored his companion and charged toward Xiang Shaoyun.
As a lightning cultivator, Zi Ming’s attack was extremely domineering. The bright red lightning he wielded looked peculiar yet destructive. It was a high-tier lightning, the crimson flame lightning. It was of a much higher tier than silver lightning and was of the same tier as starfall lightning.
As a fifth-stage pseudo-God, Zi Ming could unleash the combat strength of an eighth-stage pseudo-God. Space seemed to cease existing when his lightning palm instantly reached Xiang Shaoyun’s chest. The berserk lightning energy could give even a regular God a hard time.
Xiang Shaoyun’s eyes flickered as he barely evaded the attack, leaving numerous afterimages behind as he moved. The Sky Measuring Step was said to be capable of measuring the width of the sky itself. That was no joke.
“Are you really not going to be reasonable?” questioned Xiang Shaoyun resentfully.
In his memories, the Guardians Guild should be a reasonable organization. But from what he had seen so far, he was greatly disappointed.
“I’ll be reasonable after teaching you a lesson,” said Zi Ming as he charged toward Xiang Shaoyun once again.
He further enhanced the speed of his attack, sending a large amount of lightning out. Thunderclaps constantly rumbled around him and caused the surrounding area to shake.
Thunderclap Palm!
“In that case, don’t blame me for what I’m about to do,” said Xiang Shaoyun. Primal chaos lightning appeared around him, and both his fists shot out to meet the incoming palm.
Using his main body against a pseudo-God, Xiang Shaoyun was having quite a hard time even though he was using primal chaos lightning. The collision of the two attacks was akin to a natural disaster. Lightning and fire spread everywhere, instantly reducing even rocks into nothingness. Numerous holes were left on the ground. If the area wasn’t protected by the seal a God had placed there previously, the entire landscape would have been destroyed by that one collision.
Xiang Shaoyun was pushed back. Both his arms felt numb, and some blood was dripping out of his mouth. Evidently, he had suffered a considerable injury. However, his eyes were as firm as ever. In fact, he even looked excited. “You’re too weak!”
Those were provocative words, and Zi Ming naturally couldn’t stand such provocation. He charged forth and attacked yet again.
“I’ll smash you into mincemeat!” With a roar, the lightning energy around Zi Ming’s palms became even denser. Two lightning balls formed as he slammed his palm toward Xiang Shaoyun.
The two lightning balls did not look like anything special, but they were boundlessly destructive. In fact, they were destructive enough to instantly level hundreds of mountains. Looking at the two lightning balls, Xiang Shaoyun took a deep breath and circulated his astral energy through his veins. The more he circulated his energy, the weaker his fourth-stage Heaven Battling Realm bottleneck became.
Fiery Lightning Storm!
Utilizing three different elements, Xiang Shaoyun unleashed a remarkable attack that caused the entire world to change color. But regardless of how destructive Xiang Shaoyun’s attack was, the gap between him and Zi Ming was still clear for all to see.
Once again, Zi Ming blasted through his attack before charging Xiang Shaoyun, bombarding his body with domineering attacks and spilling his blood. Fortunately, he already had a pseudo-god body. Otherwise, the bombardment would have instantly killed him.
“Let me teach you a lesson, insolent fool,” said Zi Ming as he continued attacking after gaining the upper hand. He unleashed numerous lightning runes and lightning balls upon Xiang Shaoyun, as though he wasn’t going to stop until Xiang Shaoyun was dead.
One could see how important Zi Xinghe was to Zi Ming for him to be so furious with Xiang Shaoyun.
As for the other pseudo-God who had arrived with Zi Ming, he muttered unhappily, “Has Zi Ming gone mad? Is he not aware that Xiang Shaoyun is the direct disciple of a deputy guild master?”
The pseudo-God thought of stopping Zi Ming, but he hesitated and stopped. Evidently, he had some misgivings about getting in Zi Ming’s way. As for Zi Xinghe, he had long recovered from his injuries. With a sneer on his face, he observed the battle, seemingly eager to see Xiang Shaoyun die.
“Even if you’re the disciple of a deputy guild master, before receiving the guild’s acknowledgment, you’re still no different than a lowly commoner,” said Zi Xinghe with a sneer.
Zi Xinghe naturally knew who Xiang Shaoyun was. He was merely pretending not to know Xiang Shaoyun due to his jealousy. He believed that Xiang Shaoyun had merely become strong because he was lucky enough to meet Ge Yi.
Additionally, Yu Caidie and Devil Concubine were both completely loyal to Xiang Shaoyun. Those two were beautiful enough that even he was attracted to them. How could Xiang Shaoyun alone have both of them?
The combination of all these reasons had caused Zi Xinghe to move against Xiang Shaoyun. Unfortunately, he had misjudged Xiang Shaoyun’s strength and had therefore suffered slightly. Thus, he was naturally more than happy to see Zi Ming teach Xiang Shaoyun a lesson.
After exchanging several moves, Xiang Shaoyun’s pseudo-god body started collapsing. He coughed up a copious amount of blood. Despite that, the maniacal grin on his face seemed to have turned even wider than before.
“Time for a breakthrough,” muttered Xiang Shaoyun when he sensed the surging energy within his body. Strands of incomparably pure energy split from the two strands of God Realm energy in his astral cosmos sea and instantly replenished his exhausted strength. The strands pushed his cultivation to an even higher level, allowing him to attempt a breakthrough into the fifth stage.
