“Everybody knows that my mother and brother are rich,” Nian Xi said.
“Get rid of that idea. I’m going to a meeting.” Murong Cheng hung up on her.
Nian Xi pouted grumpily. Jiang Yuning hooked her little finger with his and said, “I’ll buy you this car if you like it.”
“No.” Nian Xi shook her head determinedly. “We’re not married. How can I let you buy me something so expensive?”
“Let’s get married then,” Jiang Yuning quickly responded.
Nian Xi glanced at him with a smile and said, “Do I look like someone who’ll get married for a car? Never mind. Let’s go look for a car for you.”
Soon, Nian Xi was tempted by a Maserati car. She called her grandma with a soft and sweet voice saying, “Grandma, I have my eyes on a car. Didn’t you say that I can ask you for anything I want?”
“You want me to buy you a car? No problem. I’ll buy you a car when you get married,” said Yu Wen smilingly.
“Why do you all want me to get married?” Nian Xi complained.
“When you get married, I’ll not only buy you a car, but also a beach house.”
“Thank you, but when I get married, you won’t be the only one to buy me a beach house. I won’t be amazed by a gift like that because I’ll have too many.” Nian Xi ended the call unhappily.
She noticed Jiang Yuning looking at her with a grievance.
“Xi, are we here to buy you a car or me?” he said.
“Eh… well… we’re here to buy you a car, but in the meantime, I might also find a car that I like for myself.” Nian Xi rubbed her nose.
“But I haven’t even seen the car that I want to buy,” Jiang Yuning said complaining in a low voice.
“All right, I’m sorry. My bad.” Nian Xi hurriedly held his hand and said, “It’s just that l like cars so much.”
“What’s so interesting about cars?” Jiang Yuning didn’t understand. “Xi, I think any drivable car is good. All cars look the same to me. They all have four wheels.”
“You sound like my father.” Nian Xi laughed. “It’s all right. When we get married, you’ll be driving a cheap car, while I drive one that’s worth millions. How about that?”
“Sure,” Jiang Yuning responded to her without thinking.
Nian Xi glanced at him. She was satisfied with his answer.
After getting married, she would be living an extravagant life, while he would be diligent and thrifty. They could make a perfect couple. They were complementary.
In Audi’s display area, Jiang Yuning and Nian Xi grew fond of a coupé. While talking to the male shopping guide, Jiang Yuning abruptly picked up Nian Xi’s hand and walked straight away, seemingly displeased.
“What’s wrong? Isn’t that car okay?” Nian Xi was confused. It was the first time she saw him so unhappy.
“We’re not getting an Audi.” Jiang Yuning pulled her closer to him with a frown and said, “I don’t like that shopping guide. He looked at your legs the whole time.”
Nian Xi stopped short. She didn’t notice that.
The bulged cheeks of the angry Jiang Yuning made him look ridiculously adorable. She was surprised to know that he was quite possessive.
“Yeah? I didn’t know he was such a nasty man.” Nian Xi pretended to be enlightened.
“Em.” Jiang Yuning nodded heavily and said, “Xi, you have beautiful legs. But you shouldn’t wear shorts again. You can wear knee-length pants. As for shorts… only I can see you in shorts.”
After finishing what he had to say, he blushed scarlet. However, the look in his eyes was rather determined.
Nian Xi looked at him straight in the eyes and said, “I’m wearing it for you today. I’m wearing it because we are out on a date. I want you to know how pretty my legs are.”
Her eyes were as seductive as peach blossoms. Looking into those eyes, Jiang Yuning’s heart thumped and his mouth went dry.
“I… I get it now.”
Nian Xi put her mouth near his ear, whispering, and breathing saying, “Then… do you like it?”
