Rong Yebai brought Su Qianxun to Long Lin’s ward. When they entered the room, Lin’er and Long Xiluo were the only two people in there. Long Xiluo kept staring at her son with knitted brows, while Lin’er lay still in bed and refused to look at her.
Long Xiluo wanted to be closer to Lin’er. But when she tried to speak to him, Lin’er did not respond at all.
This made her rather disheartened.
All these years, she had handled countless big cases. She had dealt with countless assassins, mercenaries, crime lords, or cyber criminals with ease. But when she was dealing with her six-year-old son, she was completely helpless.
The moment Lin’er saw Su Qianxun, his glum, small face lit up. He immediately sat up and stared at her happily.
Seeing her son’s reaction, Long Xiluo furrowed her brows. When he was with her, he looked awfully miserable. But when he saw the young woman, he immediately became an entirely different person. His eyes were practically gleaming like stars in the sky.
“Lin’er, how are you feeling?” Rong Yebai walked over and asked.
Lin’er simply ignored him and instead reached out a hand to Su Qianxun, who had just entered the room.
Rong Yebai was dumbfounded.
‘This kid is indeed a heartless little brat. He only cares about women!’
“Lin’er, how’s your injury? Are you still in pain?” Su Qianxun placed her gift onto the bed and held Lin’er by his small hand.
Lin’er immediately got up, crawled over to sit on her lap. He then held her arms and wrapped them around himself. He pointed to his head, which was swathed with bandages, pitifully.
“Your head is wounded. Is it very painful? I’m going to blow on it to ease your pain.” Su Qianxun felt a tightness in her chest. Gently and carefully, she leaned down and blew on his forehead.
Long Xiluo furrowed her brows as she watched her. She thought that Su Qianxun’s action was too childish. ‘How does anyone ease pain by blowing on the wound?’
However, Long Lin, her son, instantly broke into a smile right after Su Qianxun blew on his forehead. He gave her a thumbs-up, implying that he did feel so much better.
Long Xiluo was speechless.
“Remember to listen to the doctor. Look, I’ve brought you a gift. See if you like it. You can play with it when you’re bored.” Su Qianxun picked up the toy she bought and showed him. She then began explaining to Lin’er how to play.
Lin’er implied that he had watched this cartoon, so he knew how to play. It was obvious that he liked this gift very much.
“I’m going to visit the old master. You stay with Lin’er and keep him company,” Rong Yebai said and left the ward first.
Long Xiluo observed the interaction between Su Qianxun and her son the entire time. Seeing that her own son liked another woman so much, she felt rather uneasy.
…
When Rong Yebai came out from the room and saw Long Sijue, he immediately walked over and said to the man, “Let’s talk.”
“I don’t have anything to say to you.” Long Sijue’s voice was cold.
“We’re talking about that silly chick! If you’re a man, you better come with me!” Rong Yebai said and walked towards the elevator waiting area.
Long Sijue turned to stare at Rong Yebai as he left. A somber look flickered in his eyes.
Once they were in the elevator waiting area, Rong Yebai turned to look at the man who followed him here and said right away, “You shouldn’t have let Su Qianxun come today!”
“It’s none of your business!” Long Sijue stared at him coldly.
“It’s not up to you. Long Sijue, you’re no god! You’re just an ordinary man. No, you’re lesser than an ordinary man… You like her, but you don’t dare to admit it. You’re just a coward!”
Long Sijue did not reply.
“You let her come to the hospital as whom? Your sidepiece? Have you put yourself in her shoes? Do you realize how embarrassing and awkward this must’ve made her feel?” Rong Yebai continued to question him.
