Of course, Feng Wu didn’t rush to apologize to Jun Linyuan.
Being so straightforward wasn’t her thing.
This was so embarrassing…
She stalled for as long as she could. After making some chicken porridge, she squeezed some fresh juice and carried everything on a tray.
She knocked on the door.
No one answered.
Feng Wu knew Jun Linyuan must still be mad at her.
She pushed the door open and put the tray on Jun Linyuan’s bedside table.
The crown prince was facing the door at first, but he turned to face the wall when Feng Wu came in.
“How old are you?” Feng Wu wanted to ask him.
She had a hard time connecting this childish teenager to the person who created the two incidents that shook the entire Junwu Empire the night before.
She crouched down and poked Jun Linyuan’s back with a finger.
He moved a little at her touch.
Feng Wu asked, “Are you hungry? Would you like some porridge?”
The crown prince ignored her and went on sulking.
Feng Wu sat down on the edge of the bed and tugged at his blanket. “Lying on your side isn’t good for your wounds. You should lie on your back.”
Jun Linyuan threw a dirty look at her, thinking, Just let me die. It’s not like anybody will care!
However, he didn’t say that out loud.
He eventually listened to Feng Wu and lay on his back.
Feng Wu fetched some cushions to put behind his back so that he could sit up.
“We made these cushions. Aren’t they adorable?” Feng Wu waved the rabbit ears on the cushion. “It’s the same as your robe.”
“Childish!” the crown prince commented.
Childish? You’re wearing the pattern, Feng Wu thought. Things were a little easier now that Jun Linyuan was talking to her.
Feng Wu tried to bring up the subject. “Actually, last night…”
The crown prince glared at her in frustration. “I don’t want to talk about it!”
Feng Wu looked perplexed.
The crown prince said, “Not a word!”
He still felt embarrassed about destroying those gifts that way. It felt good, but probably everybody now knew how he felt about Feng Wu.
He wanted to roll over in bed and bury his face in the pillow.
Feng Wu wanted to tell him she knew what he had done for her, but Jun Linyuan wouldn’t let her talk about it.
Well…
She would make it up to him and return the favor.
It wouldn’t be too difficult since her master was the most capable man on this continent, and she also had several senior brothers.
Feng Wu showed him the glass of juice. “I squeezed the plum juice myself. Won’t you try it?”
The crown prince was still upset about her putting sleep-inducing ingredients in his water.
He looked at Feng Wu. “How do I know you didn’t put sleeping powder in it again?”
Feng Wu took a sip. “See? It’s safe.”
She was going to drink the juice and make another fresh glass for Jun Linyuan later. Before she knew it, the crown prince had drained the glass.
Feng Wu said, “The chicken porridge is really delicious. I made it myself.”
The crown prince glanced at her. “Really?”
Why was he upset again?
