Zi Ling smirked. “I went to see Mr. Zhu about it, but he told me there was nothing he could do and sent me away.”
Chaoge said, “I can’t believe it! What happened after that?”
Zi Ling smiled bitterly. “Zhen Ya has been mocking me whenever she sees me and targets me every chance she gets. She becomes alarmed when she thinks I’m too close to Lu Xiao. That’s why I’ve been trying to avoid them, but I can’t stay unnoticed sometimes because Lu Xiao greets me all the time.”
She snorted. “I wish he’d never talk to me again since it always brings me trouble.”
Zi Ling turned to Chaoge and said apologetically, “I wouldn’t have reacted like this if I were on my own, but I dragged the two of you into it. I really don’t know what to do.”
Chaoge didn’t feel that she should feel bad about hitting Zhen Ya, but she had indeed caused Feng Wu trouble again.
“Xiao Wu…” Chaoge went to Feng Wu’s side, lowered her head, and asked gingerly, “I shouldn’t have done that, right? Have I caused you trouble again?”
Feng Wu said sternly, “Are you only aware of that now?”
Chaoge was lost for words.
Feng Wu said, “If you could choose, would you do it again?”
Chaoge gritted her teeth and hesitated, but she still gave an honest answer.
She nodded. “Although it’s not right, given the choice, I would do it again. Xiao Wu, I’m sorry, but I can’t become the good student you want me to be.”
She burst into tears in the end.
She had a feeling that Feng Wu would give up on her.
Feng Wu chuckled.
Chaoge was confused.
Feng Wu said in resignation, “You did the right thing.”
Chaoge was shocked.
“What?”
Feng Wu said, “I said, you did the right thing.
“Do you really take me for a coward? Am I someone who would compromise?”
Chaoge said, “What do you mean?”
Feng Wu said, “I’ll tell you the same thing that I told Zi Ling.”
Chaoge tried to recall what Feng Wu said earlier.
Feng Wu said, “We all need to preserve our will and spirit. Without them, we’re no different from fish.
“If someone insults you, insult them with worse things.
“If they hit you, hit them back right away. If you can’t beat them, run away. Get stronger and then fight them again.
“Who told you that you have to swallow your grievances?
“Do you not understand why I scolded you before?”
Chaoge said, “Xiao Wu, I…”
Feng Wu waved her off. “You need to figure it out on your own. Until then, don’t come to see me again.”
Chaoge was almost in tears and turned to Zi Ling for help.
Zi Ling was as dumbfounded as she was.
Feng Wu left the dormitory and walked around the academy. She spent some points and listened to a few classes.
After attending a lesson on cultivation theory, she worked out the average level of the other students here.
She had learned under her beautiful master, and was good enough to be a teacher here. She didn’t need the theory class anymore.
She enjoyed the course about surviving in the Thousand Night Forest.
She hadn’t handed in all the crystal cores.
She only handed in 165 and had kept the rest for later use.
