“B-Big Brother…” Sun Fengzi was appalled at the sight of the man appearing behind her. She was a little intimidated by his strict demeanor.
To say the least, Sun Fengzi was someone who bullied the weak and feared the strong. Apart from the former master in the Zhao family, she was also afraid of the man before him.
All these years, she got the guts to hurt Duan Yarong whenever she wanted just because she was very sure that Duan Yarong was not the kind of woman who snitched on her husband.
All these years, Zhao Shunrong had never spoken up for Duan Yarong even though she had been causing Duan Yarong trouble. Therefore, Sun Fengzi had grown bolder. She gradually went the extra mile by pushing Duan Yarong harder. However, she had forgotten that no matter what, Duan Yarong was still Zhao Shunrong’s wife. In fact, he doted on Duan Yarong very much.
Zhao Shunrong’s abrupt appearance truly caught her off guard, especially when Zhao Shunrong had spoken those words to her without hesitation. Sun Fengzi got anxious and wondered how much he had heard.
Zhao Shunrong cast a glance at Sun Fengzi coldly and spat out, “I can’t afford to be your big brother.”
Immediately after, he passed by Sun Fengzi and walked up to Duan Yarong. He pulled her into his arms and asked worriedly, “Is everything okay?”
Duan Yarong shook her head. Zhao Shunrong’s appearance was like her pillar of strength. She held Zhao Shunrong’s hand tightly. Her tensed expression gradually relaxed.
Meanwhile, Sun Fengzi’s face was as white as a sheet. She watched the couple showing affection as if no one was around them. She unwittingly tightened her fists. The way she looked at Duan Yarong grew increasingly resentful.
Zhao Youlin could clearly see each and every change of expressions on Sun Fengzi’s face from her angle. She frowned, and a hint of faint puzzlement darted across her calm gaze.
The situation in the office changed substantially right after Zhao Shunrong’s appearance. Zhao Shunrong did not plan to entertain that numbskull at all.
As long as Zhao Shunrong was in the office, Sun Fengzi dared not simply spew nonsense. She could only glare at them with indignation.
In the end, instead of the people inside the office breaking the silence, an uninvited guest barged in from outside.
“Darling, you don’t…” Zhao Shunchang charged in. The moment he pushed open the office door, he was greeted by the sight of Zhao Shunrong and his wife. He choked and immediately changed his words, “Big Brother and Sister-in-law, why are you all here?”
Zhao Shunrong glared at his cowardly younger brother, who had been stepped on by his own wife, coldly. He spoke with a hint of impatience and strictness, “This is my daughter’s office. Why can’t we stay here? Instead, why did you barge in without the permission of the owner? Have you forgotten your upbringing after all these years? Is this how your elders taught you?”
Zhao Shunrong was ten years older than Zhao Shunchang. In the olden days, when the former master was busy handling his company affairs and the lady of the house became weak after giving birth to Zhao Shunchang, the eldest sibling played the role of a father. So, Zhao Shunrong was practically like a strict father to Zhao Shunchang when he was young. As such, Zhao Shunchang respected and feared his elder brother more than the former master.
Even after so many years, the moment Zhao Shunchang was reprimanded by Zhao Shunrong so strictly, Zhao Shunchang’s entire body unwittingly trembled. He gulped and faltered, “I-I-It’s… my fault. I shouldn’t barge in without knocking on the door.”
Sun Fengzi abruptly turned around and stared at her husband. Her eyes were apparently filled with disgust and annoyance.
Zhao Shunrong’s words had not only referred to Zhao Shunchang, but her as well. Yet, the spineless Zhao Shunchang actually responded to him?! She felt an invisible slap on her face, and it was especially painful.
“Big Brother, you’re wrong. If not for a certain one who shut the door just because she’s ashamed of seeing her elders out of guilt, why do Shunchang and I even have to barge in and stir up suspicion?”
“Out of guilt?! I wonder if a certain one is arguing irrationally or if we are the guilty party. I believe my father would form his own judgment regarding the incident. There’s no need for you guys to come to us so blatantly and arrogantly!” Duan Yarong had never expected Sun Fengzi to be that smug even when she was being confronted by Zhao Shunrong. Duan Yarong was so pissed off that she unwittingly raised her voice even though she had always been soft-spoken.
“That wench did not have the guts to see us even once until now, what else if not for her being guilty? Also, how dare you use the former master to oppress me?! Just because you and that wench are the apples of the former master’s eyes, do you think you can bully me and my son, and even drive us to the point of death, huh?!”
“Driving you guys to the point of death?!” Duan Yarong was very pissed off by Sun Fengzi’s shamelessness, “Why didn’t you blame it on your son for reaping for what he had sown?! He allowed his lust to control his actions even when the person is his own cousin. He’s more than scum! Also, how dare you say we’ve forced you two? Can you guys even be forced by others?! He causes trouble just by being himself! We’d be having too much time in our hands if we went to provoke you on our own. Now, I feel sick whenever I see you guys!”
“Duan Yarong, what are you talking about?! I dare you to repeat yourself! What do you mean by reaping what he had sown?! Was it even right for that wench laying her hands on my son?! We won’t want someone who is unwanted, married once and kicked out of the family, even if she offers herself to us. It’s her good fortune that Yifei showed interest in her. Yet, she’s so ungrateful and pretends to look pure. Does she really think that she’s still the pure and innocent eldest lady of the Zhao family?! What a disgrace!”
When Xia Zhetao saw how Sun Fengzi cussed like a shrewish lady. He silently took two steps back. He murmured to himself, “My goodness… Madam Fengzi is really good at arguing so irrationally. Unfortunately, she’s going to suffer her own consequences.”
Xia Zhetao gave a swift glance at the man behind him, whose cold aura had turned into a bone-chilling aura, without leaving a single bit of trace. He quietly wiped away the cold sweats on his forehead.
Xia Zhetao did not know if the president had heard Sun Fengzi’s cursings at the former Mrs. President in the beginning. But, he was very sure that the president heard what Sun Fengzi had just cussed.
It had to be said that some people in this world did not have to die had they not done it. Once they did, it was impossible to save them from their deeds.
Zhao Youlin’s eyes darkened when she heard Sun Fengzi’s words. She smirked to herself, ‘No wonder this woman is Zhao Yifei’s mother. Don’t they speak exactly the same words? There’s simply nothing new about them.’
Duan Yarong was stunned after being cussed by Sun Fengzi. After she recovered her senses, she was so angry that her entire body trembled, “Sun Fengzi, who are you cussing a wench? Who are you cussing as someone who is unwanted?! Let me warn you, if you dare to cuss another word about her, I will… I will go all out in fighting you!”
All her forty years of life, Duan Yarong had never fought with anyone. This time, she actually took the initiative to raise her hand and wanted to lunge at Sun Fengzi and strike her. Apparently, she was really very furious.
If not for Zhao Shunrong pulling her, Duan Yarong would have pounced on Sun Fengzi.
