It was already dusk when Michael had gotten back home and was greeted by the two cute puppies who had quickly run up to him the moment he opened the front door, and at the same time, he was also hit by the smell of spices in the house.
"Hey there little ones!" Michael sat down on a knee and started petting the two puppies who were incredibly excited to see him.
Meanwhile, he could also hear someone busy in the kitchen, as the sound of something being fried sounded.
"Is that you Michael?! I'm in the kitchen! Dinner will be ready soon! By the way, Jenny will stop by later to drop a cake! Make sure you'll be at the front porch to receive it. I don't want her coming inside and suffering from her allergies" Amanda's voice sounded from the kitchen, sounding incredibly cheerful and happy.
Michael placed his bag down on the sofa and carried the two pups on each of his arms as he made his way over to the kitchen.
"What are you cooking babe? The smell of the spices are so vibrant the moment I walked in" Michael said as placed the pups on the countertop as he looked at the busy Amanda.
"Oh, I'm making curry and frying a few sausages," Amanda replied while lightly stirring the pot before her.
"You know how to make curry?" Michael said, suddenly a little worried inside as this is the first time he's hearing that Amanda knows how to make curry.
Amanda looked at him and said, "Of course! One of my employees taught me how to cook one during the past few days. It was little hard at first, but I already got the hang out of it"
"Really? That's good then, I thought you were experimenting" Michael said as he sneakily let out a sigh of relief.
"You don't have faith in my ability to cook, do you?" Amanda stared deeply at Michael, making the latter a little guilty.
"Well, you didn't really perform that well during the housewarming at the mansion" Michael said, and his voice slowly grew softer under her gaze.
"Then, why don't you do the cooking next time and let's see how good you are, hmm..?" Amanda said with a raised eyebrow, her voice sounded really provocative, a clear sign that she's triggered with what Michael had said.
"Why not? How about I cook breakfast for you tomorrow?" Michael casually said, and at the same time, his face was also hinting on something else.
"Geez, you're such a horny bastard!" Amanda said when she noticed the look on Michael's face, and she couldn't help but snort with a laugh.
"What~!? That's basic instinct of a man when he sees a desirable woman" Michael replied with a laugh.
In the end, Michael lent her a hand with frying the sausages and had a short talk when Jenny came by to drop the cakes that Amanda had asked her to buy on the way home.
She wanted to come inside and hang out with them for a little bit, but the presence of the two dogs prevented her from it, and her face when she looked at the two puppies made Michael chuckle as he really pities her current situation of not being able to hug such cute creatures.
So he had advised her saying, 'Cats are cute too!'
But the only thing he received was a glare from her, before finding out that she's actually afraid of cats because of an incident that happened when she was still a kid.
And it stumped Michael so bad that he just became speechless.
While on the dinner table, Michael slowly placed down his spoon and looked at his woman and said, "Hey babe, Jenny just told me that she's actually scared of cats when I mentioned that she could get a cat because of her allergies she gets from dogs. Is that true though?"
"Pfft..!"
Amanda almost choked on her food when she heard that and looked at him with astonishment, saying, "She didn't become crazy at the mention of that, right?"
"What? Crazy? About cats? Why…?" Michael said, surprised as he seems to be uncovering a lot of things today that he had never known about these two girl friends.
Hesitating for a bit, Amanda took a bite of her curry and said in between, "Well, when she was…a child…a rabid cat attacked her, which caused a few injuries in her body. Because of that event, cats had always been one of her fears. Of course, it's not to the point that she would scream out in fear and horror if she encounters one on the road. Instead, she would just opt to go around them. But long story short, she just doesn't like being near any of them, and there are also instances that she goes a little loco even at the mere mention of them"
Michael was slack jawed hearing that, "That's just crazy talk now, right?"
Amanda rolled her eyes and said, "I don't care if you believe me or not, but that's what she told me. Didn't you already see that our place has a lot of dog stuff toys, dog pictures and the like? She even has a dog pillow for god's sake! That's how much her desire to have a pet dog, but her allergy had deprived her from it. Why do you think I had taken a bath here when we first got Terry and Cruz when normally I wouldn't? In my eyes, my friend is just that pitiful. Fortunately, it isn't that life threatening, I just hope that the world would have a cure for it soon"
'Well, The Continental has that cure you're thinking of' Michael thought inside, but didn't voice it out.
After all, that serum he had taken before he became a Zeroth Blade not only improves their physical capabilities, it also boosts the user's immunity level into superhuman level compared to a normal healthy human being.
It was so precious that only a few people know of it.
In fact, Fox also had also taken it, and would certainly benefit her family in the long run.
'Purchasing them is not impossible though, but it would certainly put her already muddy life because of her family even more complicated, and besides, her family certainly wouldn't be able to bear the repercussions in dipping their hands into the matters of The Continental'
