Zhang Che didn’t bother with all those animals. However, the animals didn’t think the same. They wouldn’t let him go, and came swarming up to him from all directions, wave after wave, seemingly endlessly.
“What’s going on? It’s like they’re endless, no matter how many I kill!” Zhang Che knitted his brow. His instincts told him that something was wrong here. But if he had to say what was wrong, he couldn’t point out what exactly it was.
He pondered for a short while, then decided to summon every one of his legend-quality and above babies out, slaughtering the attackers.
-I don’t believe these things will keep popping up without end. Although this floating mountain range looks pretty huge, it’s only a few hundred square kilometers at the most. How many spiritual beasts could there be?- Zhang Che felt that as long as he kept his killing spree going, he’d massacre them all eventually. Afterwards, he’d be able to look for the spiritual herbs in this floating mountain range peacefully.
For a period of time, the cries of animals echoed through these lands. It really seemed like they were endless. No matter how many of them Zhang Che killed, more would come pouring out from all directions to take their fallen compatriots’ places.
“This won’t do. If I continue killing like this, I’ll die from fatigue, even if those spiritual beasts can’t hurt us!” Zhang Che could finally not stay calm after killing constantly for half an hour.
He thought for a moment. Waving his hand, he recalled his flightless subdued beasts and pets one after another, then beckoned the elemental queen over to him and jumped onto the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon’s back together, erupting his fastest speed.
It was like the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon tore the space apart, instantly disappearing from where he was just a moment ago, leaving the group of animals behind.

Returning back to the skies, Zhang Che’s brow was slightly creased. He looked carefully at the environment below, then looked up towards the tallest place in the deepest area of the mountain range. Without any hesitation, he directed the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon to fly there.
If he wanted to find out why those spiritual beasts seemed to be endless, the answer was probably at the tallest area in the center of this mountain range.
As they flew, many flying animals tried to rush up in an attempt to stop them, but they were far slower than the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon, only able to catch the dust he left behind. Soon, all of them lost sight of the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon.
The center of the mountain range was getting closer and closer. Zhang Che could finally see the scenery ahead, although barely, and his face froze for a moment.
There was actually a huge platform sitting between the tall peaks ahead!
That platform was situated between a few mountain peaks. Steep mountain paths could be seen in all four directions, connected to the surrounding peaks, and looking rather mysterious.
-Could there be other humans here?- Zhang Che instantly thought. The obviously unnatural platform that looked like a huge plaza was clearly built by someone.
Perhaps this secret world was really the abode of some ancient cultivator?
Thinking of that, Zhang Che’s heart tightened a little, then sighed in relief. If there really was some cultivators here, they would have came to check after he caused such a huge commotion earlier. How could there be no reaction even now?
Most likely this was an abandoned world. The people or cultivators who built this gigantic platform in the past had long left this world for some unknown reason and went to some other unknown lands.
Of course, it was also possible that the people here had met with some terrifying enemies, who killed off everyone in this world.
Without any clues, Zhang Che couldn’t think of the story behind this. He could only ride the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon and continue forward. Perhaps some clues might be left behind on the platform…
—
As they drew closer to the tall peaks ahead, Zhang Che finally realized how gigantic the platform really was.
The platform was pretty much a perfect square, each side exceeding three thousand meters. It was built from a tall mountain peak after cut off at the waist, using the leftover portion as the base. No traces of any sword or axe cuts could be seen. Some unknown methods had been used to construct the platform.
“It’s like a work of the gods!” Zhang Che sighed in admiration. He had the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon continue flying towards the platform.
Just as the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon arrived in the skies above the platform, Zhang Che’s eyelids twitched. In the next moment, he saw masses of green light flashing from the platform out of nowhere. Afterwards, those light turned into animals one after another, pouncing at the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon in midair.
“It turns out the real bodies of those animals are here!”
Seeing those spiritual beasts appearing one after another, inspiration suddenly flashed in his mind, and he understood why he couldn’t finish killing all the animals in outskirts of the forest earlier.
Those fellows really weren’t made of flesh and blood, but were something like puppets. He still didn’t know if killing those animals on the platform would kill them off completely…
Done thinking, a scarlet and white streak of light flew out from Zhang Che’s brow, directly sweeping towards the bunch of animals ahead. He could already see those animals being cut into pieces in the next moment and thoroughly disappearing from this world.
However, when the scarlet and white sword light slashed at the body of a ferocious-looking flying leopard, it only left an insignificant mark on its neck. Not even a drop of blood was spilled!
“How can this be!?” Zhang Che was astonished. Why did those animals’ strength rose to such a terrifying degree all of a sudden?
He hurriedly directed the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon to run, flying away from the platform.
The situation was too bizarre. Zhang Che didn’t dare to remain there. If he was careless and got surrounded by those terrifying puppet-animals, the results would be hard to imagine.
The scarlet and white sword could even injure high-tier epic-quality exotic beasts, but against those puppet-animals, it was only able to leave a shallow mark? All this had exceeded Zhang Che’s understanding.
The Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon flew out from the stone platform very quickly and continued flying away, not slowing down at all.
Zhang Che took a quick glance back. He saw that those ridiculously tough puppet-animals actually didn’t give chase. Conversely, they actually turned into masses of green light one after another and vanished from sight.
“Hmm? Could it be those puppet-animals can’t leave the stone platform?” Zhang Che immediately suspected.
In that case, wouldn’t it mean that those animals he encountered before actually weren’t these puppet-animals? That would explain why there was such a huge difference in strength!
Zhang Che gave up on going to the stone platform for now. Although he was sure there were some benefits to be gained there, those puppet-animals were too strong. He wouldn’t be able to charge in there; it was better not to play around with his life!
Going forward, he’d explore the nearby mountains and see if he could find anything like spiritual herbs or whatnot instead…
