“Not at all.”
“…”
“We don’t even know their numbers or abilities. How can we strategize?”
“But I do have some knowledge of Foundation Mountain,” Chen Zhao said. “It has an ancient relic that contains a lot of weird creatures called Crypt Demons. Regular guns can’t hurt them at all. The weakest ones are like lions and tigers. Some stronger ones are even bigger than an ox.”
Everyone was speechless.
They hadn’t even taken care of the Family yet and now this group of monsters had appeared. How could they fight?
“Jolag, Patilu, can you two modify guns?”
“President, we don’t have the equipment, so we probably can’t. Modifying firearms has a higher requirement for equipment.”
Chen Zhao was now much stronger than last time.
He wasn’t as against going to the relic with the Crypt Demons.
And he knew that the Crypt Demons weren’t friendly toward him, but they wouldn’t be friendly toward the Family either.
“President, the two members of the Family that you killed yesterday were definitely Class C or B,” Engelite said. “Also, Moore woke up. From his description, I can infer that one of the Family is an illusionist. They also created the illusion for Moore without him realizing.”
“President, I have a solution if it’s an illusion,” Patilu said.
“What solution?”
“We can buy an awakening potion from a witch.”
“How much is a bottle?”
“Ten thousand dollars,” Patilu said.
Chen Zhao bared his teeth. It was so expensive.
Not counting Ados, they had seven people. If each had a bottle, it would be $70,000 in expenses.
Chen Zhao picked up his phone and called Sienna directly. “Sienna, can you make awakening potions?”
“No, but Rupert can. Do you need it?”
“What’s the price?”
“Expensive.”
“Give me the price.”
“Ten thousand dollars, but I’ll take $2,000 in commission.”
Chen Zhao looked at Patilu. He probably wanted to make that money too.
Patilu averted his eyes, clearly afraid of getting yelled at.
“I want ten bottles. When can I get it?”
“Huh? Ten bottles?” Sienna cried out.
If one bottle was $2,000, then ten bottles was $20,000.
“Tomorrow morning,” Chen Zhao said. “Sent to my house.”
“Okay, no problem. I’ll tell Rupert to be faster.”
After hanging up, Chen Zhao continued asking, “What other places should I be aware of?”
“Jolag, prepare some equipment for everyone these two days. Both for attack and defense.”
“Understood.” Jolag looked at West.
“Okay, okay, you need funds.” West looked at Chen Zhao. “President, I wish you all good luck on your mission.”
“Only Ados and the injured don’t have to go.” Chen Zhao tapped the table. “West, do you want to be injured too?”
“No, no. I didn’t say I won’t go.”
“Oh, Bir’s death counts as a work injury,” Chen Zhao said. “Is there any compensation for his family?”
“He doesn’t have a family. He’s all by himself.”
“Oh… That saves some money.” Chen Zhao felt a little uncomfortable when saying that. “Send the ‘Family’ to him as companions.”
Just then, Pamela ducked in. “President, I want to join too.”
“Are you sure?”
Pamela was strong, but she was still a spirit.
Other than the failures here, other spiritualists were able to deal with spirits.
That’s why Chen Zhao preferred to have Pamela stay.
Plus, someone had to watch over the headquarters.
Chen Zhao wasn’t reassured to have Ados here by himself.
“President, I’m not a typical spirit,” Pamela said. “I’m very difficult to destroy now.”
“Why?”
“I have an incomplete Banshee’s Body.”
“What’s that?” Everyone was confused.
Chen Zhao was surprised. “Oh? You’re a Banshee?”
“President, you know about the Banshee’s Body?”
“I know a strong Banshee.”
Everyone turned toward Chen Zhao at once. Pamela was even more in disbelief.
“Impossible. There are no real Banshees in the world.”
Chen Zhao shrugged without explaining.
“Since you’re a Banshee, you can take part in the mission.”
Chen Zhao didn’t know how Pamela’s abilities were.
But he remembered how terrifying Jessica was. He felt that even if Pamela wasn’t as strong as Jessica, she should have a portion of her strength.
Next, there were some miscellaneous matters to take care of.
The mission was planned to be in two days. After all, they still needed to prepare.
Jolag couldn’t produce the equipment today either.
…
A team entered Foundation Mountain.
“Grandfather, Mom and Dad have come,” Chloe cried out happily. “And Akiro, Ruby, Ackson and Fendilon.”
An elder walked out of a tent and looked at the seven people coming from the distance.
The storm on his face finally disappeared after days.
“Hopkins, Torila, you’re finally here.” Grandfather opened his arms and embraced the man and woman.
“Grandfather, what happened?” Hopkins asked. “You messaged us that Brighton, Daris, and Jack died?”
“Yes,” Grandfather said. “They died in the hands of the Supernatural Organization.”
“How dare they hurt my kids?” Torila said with a hawkish expression. “I’ll tie them to the guillotine.”
“Grandfather, what kind of strong figure does the organization have to kill them?” Hopkins asked in confusion.
“I thought like you too, but when Jack and Daris went to kill one of them—Engelite—both of them were killed. They’d died under their proudest skills too. Jack’s arm was broken and his spine crushed. Daris was roasted from the inside while her outside was unharmed.”
Hopkins and Torila both frowned. Hopkins turned toward Torila. “Do you know what spell this is?”
“No, but it must not be weak.”
“It doesn’t matter what magic it is,” Akiro yelled. “We have so many people. Why are we scared? Whoever hurts my siblings, I won’t forgive them!”
“Indeed,” Grandfather said. “But before that, we must get the foundation stone first.”
Something flashed past the eyes of Hopkins and Torila. “How’s the investigation?”
“There are many Crypt Demons. It’s not looking good.”
