Chapter 644 The Banquet
I signaled Jing Ni with my eyes, leaving her and Qu Hao. I pulled Jing Tian over to the dining table at the side and whispered, “Why are you so angry with him?”
Jing Tian said expressionlessly, “Because I’m
jealous!”
I couldn’t help but laugh. Jing Tian looked so cute.
A waiter came up to us with a tray of drinks. Jing Tian and I took one of the glasses. “I like it when you’re jealous,” I said as I brought the glass to my lips. I smelled a faint fishy smell.
I reached out my hand to stop Jing Tian. I leaned on his body with a smile and whispered, “The drink is poisoned.”
Jing Tian’s body stiffened.
I held the glass in my hand and maintained my smile. “Mr. Li said that I won’t be poisoned again. He actually meant I’m more sensitive to
poison.”
Jing Tian was looking for the waiter earlier. I tugged at his lapel. “There’s no need to look for him. Besides, he might not even know anything.”
I held the wine glass in my hand and scanned the room. I found a suitable candidate. “We shouldn’t waste this though. I’ll present it as a gift.”
Jing Tian didn’t understand what I meant.
I patted his arm. “Just wait and see.”
Lu Yan was wearing a pink dress today. She looked very delicate and pretty, and her face was as beautiful as jade.

The wine on her dress had already turned purplish-black. I was so ‘scared that I threw the wine glass in my hand away, but Jing Tian, who was beside me, caught it with one hand.
Gu Nian and the others had already run over. Before he could say anything, Jing Tian said coldly, “Master Liu, it was that waiter who handed this wine to Nanxing!” He pointed at the waiter who had brought the wine to me. At the same time, a silver thread flew out of his sleeve and tied the waiter up.

“I should be asking you that. Someone has tried to poison Nanxing and me! Shouldn’t you be checking the rest of the drink on that waiter’s tray?” Jing Tian said coldly.
Gu Nian’s face turned pale with anger.
He looked at me.
I pointed at Lu Yan, who was crouching on the ground, and said. “What are you waiting for? Hurry up and send her to the hospital! I didn’t mean to harm her. If I wanted to harm her, I wouldn’t have done it so openly in public! I suggest that we call the police immediately and have them investigate. I am not going to take the blame for this.”
“Nanxing, I didn’t poison anyone.” Gu Nian was trembling with anger.
I nodded. “I know it wasn’t you, but this is your banquet, right? I suggest we close all the doors and investigate the place inch by inch. Get a doctor to figure out the poison. If it’s too inconvenient, I have two doctors in my residence. What do you think?”
