Gu Nian’s expression changed. He turned around and asked, “Why are you here? What are you doing here?”
The beauty sneered. “I was wondering why you’ve become so diligent. You went back for two days, and you came here again.”
She pushed Gu Nian away and stared straight at me. Her expression was extremely unsightly. “You’re actually still alive? And you even managed to lure Gu Nian here. Nanxing, you are a fox spirit in your previous life, aren’t you?”
I sized her up and felt a little curious.
She was quite beautiful.
In my memories, there weren’t that many impressive beauties. I had met many of them here today, but they were all the same, so I didn’t have much of an impression of them.
The one in front of me wasn’t bad. At least she was pleasing to the eye.
“Are you complimenting me on my beauty?” I asked her hesitantly.
She was stunned for a moment. I explained, “Fox spirits are very beautiful. You must think I’m beautiful to call me that. Thank you!”
A light chuckle came from behind me.
I turned around. It was Jing Tian.
Jing Tian’s eyes were shining with a smile. “Little Fox, I’ve been looking for you for a long time.”
I smiled.
I knew that this woman hated me for some reason. I didn’t want to tell her I had lost my memory. She was hostile towards me. But I didn’t want any trouble.
“Jing Tian!” Gu Nian cried out involuntarily.
Jing Tian put his arm around my shoulder. “Master Liu, how have you been?” He immediately put a distance between us.
The woman immediately hooked her arm around Gu Nian. “Master Qi, you’re such a flower guardian. But I’d advise you to take closer care of your flower. I bet you didn’t expect Master Liu to find this secluded island. You can only blame yourself. Your flowers are too fragrant and attract bees and butterflies! If you can’t keep an eye on her, then it’s your fault!”
My gaze sharpened. Just as I was about to speak, my shoulders tightened.
Jing Tian said plainly, “Miss Lu is right.”
Jing Tian’s fingers twirled my hair at my temples. He sighed lightly. “I can’t help it. I have a fiance who’s like a little fox. I’m always worried, but how is this my fiance’s fault? Those bees and butterflies don’t know what’s good for them. Speaking of, Miss Lu, you have your own bees and butterflies to control too. Don’t make me worry.”
Gu Nian’s face darkened. “Master Qi!”
Jing Tian smiled. “Master Liu, I was just joking.”
He turned to look at me. “Little Fox, let’s go.”
I looked at Gu Nian and smiled at him before following Jing Tian to leave.
“Nanxing!” Gu Nian called out to me from behind.
I stopped and turned to look at him. I saw that Miss Lu’s face had turned green.
Jing Tian, on the other hand, reached out to turn my head away, preventing me from looking at them.
“Master Liu, Nanxing owes you her life. But put it on my account. She’s my fiancée. She was, is, and will be my fiancée. You can’t possibly ask Nanxing to give her life to you because she already has me. I’ll take responsibility for what she owes!” Jing Tian’s voice sounded distant.
Without waiting for Gu Nian to speak, Jing Tian pulled me away.
After finding a quiet place, Jing Tian pulled me to sit down and let out a long sigh of relief.
I looked at him. “How did I owe Gu Nian my life?”
Jing Tian held my hand. “Nanxing, I’m sorry. It was all my fault for not protecting you well that Gu Nian had the chance to save you.”
I looked at him helplessly. “Jing Tian ….”
