Chapter 475: Assassination
Ye Qian left the country. It was both expected and unexpected. I never saw Ye Qian as a long-term lover. I didn’t even think she fell in love with Jing Ning.
The only person that Ye Qian loved was herself. In her words, she struggled hard to survive. How could she still have the strength to love others?
Jing Ning simply didn’t understand that. He was such a fool.

Gu Nian asked me to meet him at the coffee shop opposite Joint Creation. I agreed because I wanted to see the former Nan Corporation again.
Gu Nian looked tired.
The waiter brought the coffee over.
I stirred it a few times and took a sip. I didn’t know when I’d come back here.
“Nanxing, have I disappointed you?” Gu Nian opened with this.
I looked at him and smiled. “No, you can’t disappoint someone you have no hope in.”
Gu Nian took a sip of the coffee. “Life is really a slippery slope. One wrong step leads to another. Nanxing, if I didn’t head Joint Creation and be with Lu Yan, can we still be friends?”
I looked at him. “But there are no ifs.”
Gu Nian’s expression darkened.
“Nanxing!” Someone shouted, and a boiling cup of coffee splashed at my head. I dodged it, but it still burned my arm.
It was Lu Yan.
“What’s wrong with you?” Gu Nian pushed Lu Yan away and used a napkin to wipe my arm. I snatched it from him and worked on the stain myself.
Lu Yan and Gu Nian had already started arguing.
“There are so many things waiting for you to do, and you’re here to meet this woman?” Lu Yan glared at Gu Nian.
“What’s wrong with you? Why can’t I come to see a friend?” Gu Nian lowered his voice and reprimanded her. He was cautious of the gazes around them.
“Friend? Do you think I’m dumb? She is your crush. You still have her in your heart!” Lu Yan’s eyes were filled with tears.
I lowered my head and smiled as I cleaned the coffee off my sleeve. Mai Qi picked this outfit for me. They were ruined.
Lu Yan rushed up to me without waiting for Gu Nian. “Nanxing, you must feel so great about yourself. What’s wrong with you? Is Jing Tian dying? So you’re out finding his replacement?”
I slapped Lu Yan hard on the face.
Lu Yan was caught off guard. I hit her hard. She lost her balance and fell to the ground. She screamed and slipped.
Gu Nian quickly reached out to help Lu Yan up.
Lu Yan felt wronged and embarrassed.
I walked up and looked down at her. “I will destroy anyone who curses Jing Tian. Miss Gu, you haven’t even secured your position yet. You need to measure yourself before you go around courting death!”
I turned to Gu Nian. “You should be careful who you get as your wife. You don’t need a wife to have a good life, so why make life so difficult for yourself? Take care and goodbye!” I wasn’t one to mince words.
A person wearing a cap walked towards me. His footsteps were hurried, and he rushed straight towards me.
“Nanxing! Be careful!” A strong force pounced from behind me and pushed me to the side.
I turned and saw a sharp dagger stab into Gu Nian’s stomach.
“Gu Nian!” I cried out in shock.
The man in the cap let go of the dagger and staggered back.
It was Jing Ning!
I couldn’t care about him at that moment as I ran to check on Gu Nian. Gu Nian held the dagger in his stomach with one hand and leaned on me.
I shouted at Lu Yan, “Call an ambulance!”
