Both sides were aiming to kill. Since Death awaited either way, I would kill to my heart’s content before it arrived!
There was only blood, shredded pork, and torrential rain in my eyes. Gradually, the redness enveloped my world. It was like the world was turning crimson.
My other senses shut down, and I only felt the rod in my hand. I kept swinging, and the smell of blood filled my nose. People pressed in from both sides. I was tired, but I couldn’t stop.
I could feel Death’s eyes on me. I wanted to surrender to it, but my limbs refused to stop. I turned towards the light and screamed. I just wanted everything to stop!
“Ah!!!”
“Nanxing!” Jing Tian’s anxious voice came into my ears.
My heart suddenly dropped to the ground. Jing Tian had finally arrived.
Then, I was startled. Why is he here?
I opened my eyes in a hurry. Oh, it was just a dream.
I saw nothing but white, and I could hear the sound of the monitoring device.
“Nanxing, you’re awake?” Jing Tian’s face came into my sight. He had an anxious expression.
I blinked my eyes to make sure that I was seeing a real person.
Then, I felt the weight from my four limbs. Every part of my body seemed to be in pain. I stretched slowly, trying to feel the damage.
“Urgh…” I hissed from the intense pain. Pain, that was the only feeling I had.
Jing Tian reached out his hand and pressed on the bedside bell. “You’re badly injured. The doctor needs you to go for a check-up after you wake up. Don’t move around recklessly. You’re going to make the wounds worse.”
My mind finally cleared up a little.
“Jing Tian?” I called out to him.
“Yes.” He held my hand and leaned over to kiss my forehead.
“I’m still alive,” I muttered.
“Nanxing, I’m sorry.” Jing Tian placed my hand on the side of his face. There was some stubble on his chin, and it tickled me. It appeared like he had been guarding me without sleep.
“Where are Jing Ni and Maggie?” I asked.
“They’re both fine. Don’t worry,” Jing Tian said.
I recalled some of the remaining memories in my mind. “Jing Ni has changed.”
Jing Tian didn’t say anything.
“Is she badly injured?”I asked.
Jing Tian looked at me with a gentle gaze and nodded. “Her injuries are more serious than yours. You have a martial arts background. She doesn’t. She was fighting with pure brute strength. She’s lucky to be alive.”
I closed my eyes. “Jing Tian, I regained some memories from the past after I lost control. But they’re all hazy. Do you think I’ll eventually remember everything?”
Jing Tian held my hand and said gently, “Nanxing, don’t force yourself. Does it really matter if you can remember it or not? We’ll eventually find out the truth.”
I nodded slightly, but I still hoped that one day I could remember what happened. It felt incomplete, having part of my memory missing.
“Mai Qi must be scared out of her wits,” I muttered.
“She’s not that fragile. The three of you are amazing. With you three at the helm, Sky City will one day surpass Dragon’s Gate and Ardent Flame Alliance.” Jing Tian said with a gentle smile. He was so sweet when he was like this.
“Jing Tian, tell me the truth. How serious is my injury? Will I become disabled? I can handle the truth.” I had figured out what had happened. I looked at Jing Tian calmly.
