When we arrived at Jing Ni’s building, even I could feel the danger in the air.
Su Qian and Su Shen’s aura changed.
“Nanxing, stay here and keep watch. Be our support. Should we call for backup, you need to get reinforcement. If there’s no one from Sky City, reach out to Gao Jing. His men are close by.” Su Qian assigned me a task.
My body turned cold as waves of blood rushed into my brain. I knew that I was on the verge of losing control. My hands clutched the railing beside me tightly.
Su Qian and Su Shen saw this, but they couldn’t stay. The situation was urgent.
Su Qian pulled me into her arms awkwardly. “Nanxing, you need to control yourself. Su Shen and I need your support. Jing Ni’s safety depends on you!”
The restlessness in my heart calmed down slightly. I had to do this for Jing Ni!
From my camera lens, I saw Su Qian and Su Shen move through the distance. I reported to them the people I saw hiding in the building. Jing Ni lived on the fourth floor. The curtains were closed so I couldn’t see what was going on inside. I slowly moved my camera up. Suddenly, I saw a spy camera which resembled the one I was using. I immediately ducked behind the window.
I closed my eyes. I pulled up every detail which was photographed in that one glance. I pulled out my phone to dial a number.
I heard a soft laugh. “Nanxing?”
I calmed myself down. “Why are you here?”
Qu Hao’s voice was very relaxed. “I can ask you the same question.”
I said coldly, “Qu Hao, if your target is the girl on the fourth floor, we need to talk.”
Qu Hao’s reply was very straightforward. “Alright! Get your people to remove the two troublemakers on the third floor. It’s safe above the fourth floor. Let’s talk.”
I immediately sent a message to Su Qian and Su Shen. I returned to the window and exposed myself in Qu Hao’s sight to show I was willing to cooperate.
Qu Hao smiled at me through the distance.
Su Shen and Su Qian moved quickly. They gestured to me after resolving the problem. I went downstairs and rushed towards Jing Ni’s building.
The situation outside had changed drastically.
I felt a chill in my heart. Even if I had Dragon’s Gate and Ardent Flame Alliance’s support, I wasn’t confident about the outcome now that Qu Hao had been involved.
His forces couldn’t be underestimated. My understanding of him was too one-sided. He appeared to have come to help Jing Ni and me this time though.
Su Qian and Su Shen waited at Jing Ni’s door.
There was also Qu Hao in the corridor. He was dressed in white and looked spotless.
I nodded at him.
Su Qian lowered her voice and said, “There’s no danger.”
I kicked down Jing Ni’s door.
Jing Ni sat on the sofa. Before her was a small table with a glass of red wine.
“Ni Ni!” I rushed forward.
Jing Ni was stunned. She stood up and looked at me. “Nanxing? Why are you here?”
I looked at her and gritted my teeth in anger. I pushed her. “Have you lost your mind? How can you post those things on the darknet? Do you know how dangerous that is?”
Jing Ni staggered and slumped on the sofa. She looked up at me. “Nanxing, I can’t let Sky City be implicated because of me! This is my matter! I won’t harm the innocent!”
Her thin face was as white as paper, but her gaze was unwavering.
I couldn’t help but soften my voice. My heart ached for her.
“What are you talking about? Do you look down on Sky City because it isn’t strong enough to protect you? Do you look down on me because I’m not capable enough to protect you?”
