Chi Mingwei was sitting at his desk, using his laptop to settle work that he had not managed to finish during the day.
Knock knock knock—
Chi Mingwei said without looking up, “Come in.”
Chi Jiao pushed open the door and entered the room with Quan Jue following behind her.
Seeing Chi Mingwei sitting at the computer table with his glasses on and looking very serious, she tiptoed forward and gently patted the table.
Chi Mingwei was startled and looked up at her.

Chi Mingwei turned his gaze to Quan Jue.
The young man stood there coldly, looking like an ice sculpture.
“It must have been hard on you to take care of Jiaojiao,” Chi Mingwei said with a straight face.
Quan Jue raised an eyebrow. “It’s only right to take care of my future wife. There’s nothing hard about it.”
These words agitated Chi Mingwei so much that he nearly exploded.
“Quan Jue, Jiaojiao isn’t even 18 yet!” Chi Mingwei looked at him with a warning gaze. “Jiaojiao is still far from the legal marriageable age. You don’t have to come to a conclusion so soon. What if our Jiaojiao doesn’t want to marry you in the future?”
