“Wanwan, are you joking with me right now?” Qin Qingrong frowned, clearly unhappy.
He had specially invited her to act in that role previously, but she rejected him.
And now, she was here to say that she wanted it.
And using such a domineering tone, too.
This was simply disregarding him.
“Uncle, I’m not joking with you. Didn’t you say previously that this role is very suitable for me? I went back and thought about it. I felt that it really suits me, so I wanted to give it a try,” Huo Wanwan said with a smile.
Qin Qingrong was speechless.
Before meeting Chi Jiao, he did feel that Huo Wanwan was very suitable for this role.
But after meeting Chi Jiao, he finally understood what kind of female lead he wanted.
Clearly, Chi Jiao was more suitable to be the female lead in the public service short film than Huo Wanwan.
“I’m sorry, Wanwan. I can’t give you this role now,” Qin Qingrong said resolutely after a few seconds of silence.
The smile on Huo Wanwan’s face froze. “Why not?”
“Because I’ve found a more suitable candidate,” Qin Qingrong said as he smiled at Chi Jiao.
“Is she the more suitable candidate you’re talking about?” Huo Wanwan pointed at Chi Jiao.
Qin Qingrong nodded.
“Uncle Qin, are you kidding me?” Huo Wanwan laughed out of anger. Her beautiful eyes seemed to spit fire as she looked at Chi Jiao, before looking back at him. “I advise you to think it through before you speak.”
The threat in her words was obvious to anyone who understood.
Chi Mingwei glanced at Qin Qingrong and then at Huo Wanwan.
He had long felt that Old Qin wasn’t living happily in the Huo family. It seemed like it was true. Even a junior could talk to him like this.
Chi Jiao sat obediently by the side the whole time. Her dark and bright eyes looked at Huo Wanwan one moment and then at Qin Qingrong the next.
Actually, she quite enjoyed seeing Huo Wanwan suffer.
With mischievous thoughts in her heart, a fleeting smile flashed across Chi Jiao’s fair and porcelain face.
When Qin Qingrong saw Huo Wanwan threatening him in front of outsiders, he instantly felt like he was shamed.
“I’m not mistaken at all. I can’t give you this role. If you’re here because of this, then you can go back now. I still have to entertain my guests.” Qin Qingrong’s attitude was clearly much colder than before.
“The suitable candidate you mentioned earlier, is that her?” Huo Wanwan pointed at Chi Jiao.
Qin Qingrong didn’t say anything, which could be considered as tacit agreement.
Huo Wanwan laughed out of anger and turned to look at Chi Jiao. “Miss Chi, I didn’t know you can act?”
Chi Jiao shrugged innocently and said, “I don’t know how to.”
Huo Wanwan was even more furious at that.
This damn girl didn’t know how to act at all, yet Qin Qingrong still wanted her to be the female lead. Was he just out to go against her?!
“Uncle Qin, if I remember correctly, our family invested a lot of money into your entertainment company, right?” Huo Wanwan turned her attention to Qin Qingrong again. “You’re using our family’s money to mess around? You’re asking for someone who doesn’t know how to act to be the female lead. Uncle Qin, I seriously doubt your ability to lead the company now.”
Qin Qingrong’s face turned as black as the bottom of a pot when Huo Wanwan lectured him as if he was a child.
Even Chi Mingwei couldn’t stand it anymore.
However, this was Qin Qingrong’s family business, so he couldn’t say anything. He could only sit by the side awkwardly.
