Xu Ye nodded and was about to leave when he suddenly saw a snow-white figure behind him.
Xu Ye only took a quick glance and vaguely saw the figure of a man. He was wearing a loose white robe and his snow-white hair danced in the air like silver threads.
Strangely enough, Xu Ye could see the man’s face, but he couldn’t make out his facial features clearly until a drop of blood suddenly fell from the man’s eye.
“Xi’er…”
The man’s plaintive voice echoed in Xu Ye’s mind. It was desolate and filled with boundless sorrow.
Xu Ye suddenly felt a sharp pain in his mind. He wanted to call out to Beitang Lie, but he let out a painful groan the moment he opened his mouth. His vision spun and he fell to the ground, instantly losing consciousness.
Beitang Lie was walking in front when he heard the commotion behind him. He turned around and saw Xu Ye lying on the ground.
Xu Ye had a pained expression, and cold sweat kept streaming down his forehead.
Shocked, Beitang Lie hurried over and shook his shoulder. “Xu Ye, Xu Ye! Don’t scare me!”
Xu Ye laid motionless on the ground. It was clear how much pain he was in from his curled-up body.
Beitang Lie didn’t dare to be careless. He quickly carried Xu Ye and rushed downstairs.
Half an hour later, Chi Jiao and Quan Jue arrived at the 117 Building.
The two of them had obviously woken up in a hurry from how casual they were dressed. The car came to a stop and they got out.
Chi Jiao looked at the dark circles under Quan Jue’s eyes and couldn’t help sighing. “Brother Quan, you didn’t have to come with me. I heard from Dad that you have a very important meeting tomorrow. How are you going to deal with Quan Jingzhou if you don’t have a good rest?”
Quan Jue raised his hand and patted her head upon seeing her worried expression. He smiled. “Quan Jingzhou isn’t worthy of me using my full strength. You don’t have to worry. Mom is also worried about Xu Ye’s safety. I have to personally come to take a look so that I can report to her.”
Chi Jiao’s heart ached even more when she saw his serious expression.
Actually, she knew very well that Quan Jue only said that to reassure her.
Lu Xian was concerned about Xu Ye, but she could just ask Chi Jiao for an update. Brother Quan was just finding an excuse to accompany her.
Chi Jiao hugged his arm tightly. “Let’s go. Xu Ye is waiting for us.”
Chi Jiao and Quan Jue walked side by side into the 117 Building and saw Beitang Lie with a guilty expression.
His face was filled with guilt as he apologized to her. “Boss, it’s all my fault for being careless, causing Xu Ye to suddenly faint. Please punish me.”
As Xu Ye’s protector, Beitang Lie had the responsibility to protect him and not let any harm befall him.
However, Xu Ye was unconscious now, and Beitang Lie couldn’t do anything.
“I’ve heard what happened. You can’t be blamed for this. Xu Ye wasn’t attacked. He most likely fainted because of some internal condition. It has nothing to do with you. You don’t have to blame yourself,” Chi Jiao assured him.
