When Quan Jue returned to his room, the lights were already on.
After pushing the door open, he was not surprised to see Chi Jiao waiting for him inside.
“Have you been waiting for a long time?” Quan Jue walked to her side and asked gently.
“Well… not too long. I just wanted to go downstairs to look for you, but I saw you talking to Daddy, so I didn’t want to disturb you two. Brother Quan, what did Daddy say to you?” Chi Jiao asked curiously.
“Uncle asked me about my future plans and instructed me to take good care of you.” Quan Jue gently stroked her soft long hair.
Chi Jiao’s eyes widened in surprise. “Why did Daddy tell you this? You will never bully me. Does that mean Daddy knows that you want to be the head of the Quan family?”
“I did, but Uncle isn’t very concerned about this matter. He only asked about you. It’s getting late. You should go to bed first. I’ll sort out some work before sleeping.” Quan Jue had been thinking about Lu Xian all day. There was still a portion of his work that needed to be dealt with.
“I’ll accompany you.” With that, Chi Jiao kissed him and climbed into bed. She covered herself with the blanket and looked at him obediently.
Quan Jue walked to the desk and sat down. He turned on his computer and entered the password before continuing to work.
Looking at his almost perfect figure, Chi Jiao smiled dreamily
Indeed, Brother Quan was at his most handsome when he was working!
Chi Jiao admired Quan Jue’s side profile. Her eyelids quickly became heavier and heavier until she closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
Chi Jiao slept very well that night. She only woke up at eight in the morning the next day.
However, Chi Jiao touched the bed beside her and realized that it was cold. Quan Jue must have been gone for a while.
In a sleepy daze last night, Chi Jiao clearly felt Quan Jue get into bed and hug her, sleeping beside her.
She didn’t expect him to be already up and about before she woke up.
Chi Jiao felt as if a piece of her heart had been dug out. She instantly felt empty and uncomfortable.
“Brother Quan has been too busy these past few days. After this hectic period is over, I must think of a way to reward him,” Chi Jiao vowed as she clenched her fists.
Chi Jiao had nothing to do. She got up, took a shower, and changed her clothes, before going downstairs to the dining room.
To her surprise, Lu Xian made breakfast today.
When she heard Chi Jiao’s footsteps, she stuck her head out of the kitchen. She immediately smiled brightly and greeted her. “Good morning, Jiaojiao. Come and have breakfast. The fried eggs I made this morning are especially good.”
Chi Jiao nodded and walked towards the dining room. “Auntie, good morning. Auntie, we have servants. Why are you doing the cooking?”
Lu Xian smiled matter-of-factly and said gently, “I have nothing to do. Come, Jiaojiao, sit down and try Auntie’s cooking.”
Lu Xian made a western-style breakfast today. There were fried eggs, toast, vegetable salad, and fruit yogurt. It looked exquisite.
Chi Jiao took a bite of the toast. It looked ordinary, but it was coated with special butter and spices. The moment she took a bite, the milky fragrance filled the air. It was simply delicious.
