“Haha, don’t worry, Jun Bro, I wouldn’t do something I had no confidence in!” Lin Yi smiled.
Right- if it were the old Lin Yi, he would go and kill House Yu right away, but the Lin Yi now was a lot more composed. Revenge took strategy. It’d be stupid for him to just charge in and die if things went south.
“I’m really glad you could say that!” Huaijun breathed in relief, “Right now, we’re still making conjectures- it’s likely, but we don’t have enough evidence! If House Yu really has something to do with the drug organization, I’d report this to the secret agency myself even if you didn’t do anything, and bring the Yu’s into justice!”
“A conjecture is enough- just looking at them makes me pissed. A conjecture is just another reason for me to kill them.” Li Yi said flatly. “Without anywhere to relieve this anger, might as well throw it on them!”
“I… Alright, do what you want.” Huaijun smiled bitterly. “Right, another thing! Eagle, these days when I was tidying up old files, I found our old war mates’ information. I wasn’t a director back then, and I had no authority. Lin Yi felt emotional. Where was his war mate now? Had he really sacrificed himself?
“Armadillo has a sister. She’s in Songshan. I just learned this.” Huaijun said emotionally.
“Sister? He has a sister In Songshan?” Lin Yi blinked. Could it be that the picture he looked at from those days was his sister?
“Yes, she’s sixteen this year, a ninth-grader. She should be having her exams soon!” Huaijun said. “She’s called Ying Ziyu, in Fushan High, ninth grade, class six.”
“Ying Ziyu,” Lin Yi sighed. He didn’t know how a little girl managed all these years. “No parents or relatives?”
“No, her parents are operatives as well. Both died in a mission. Armadillo had been raising his sister by himself!” Huaijun said. “To feed his sister, Armadillo took on special training from a young age, becoming an operative, except…”
“Stop…” Lin Yi felt an urge to cry- how did Ying Ziyu get by all these years? Did she even know that her brother had sacrificed himself, along with her parents?
“I found this through the name system- if she wasn’t in Songshan, it’d be really hard to trace her! She moved, and the sacrifice documents and items of her brothers didn’t make it to her, they were all in the police department.” Huaijun smiled bitterly. “We would’ve missed this if I hadn’t gone into it.”
“And so Ying Ziyu doesn’t know that her brother sacrificed herself?” Lin Yi’s heart was only heavier. How was he supposed to tell this little girl this on his own? Tell her that her brother was dead?
“Yes…” Huaijun sighed. “This is also why I wanted you to go, captain- you’re about the same age as her, it should be easier. I don’t even know how to tell her!”
“Come on, about the same age? She’s a kid… How am I supposed to tell her this?” Lin Yi said helplessly.
“If you really don’t want to go, wait until I come back- I’ll bring her the items too.” Huaijun knew the difficult position Lin Yi was in.
“Forget about those- we didn’t find the corpse yet, right? Maybe Armadillo’s actually fine!” Lin Yi stopped it right away. Judging from what Huaijun said, Ying Ziyu didn’t know what happened to her brother. She was nearing the exams, too, and it’d be a big hit to her mental state if they told them this. They could at least wait until she was in high school, right?
“You’re right- no news means good news,” Huaijun nodded.
“Alright, I’ll go see her in a bit. I’m free anyway.” Lin Yi had to go see how she was doing now that he knew Armadillo had a sister- he couldn’t just ignore it. He needed to know how she was doing.
Lin Yi was her brother now that Armadillo was gone. He needed to take care of her! Armadillo and Huaijun were the same. They were people who he entrusted his life to, and they entrusted their lives to him!
“Alright, that’ll be it then. Don’t rush things regarding House Yu- don’t alert them of our knowledge.” That last part of the sentence was just another reason to keep Lin Yi from rushing into things.

After hanging up, Lin Yi was in a bad mood, his heart heavy. Although plenty of people had lost their families as Ziyu had, those people had nothing to do with Lin Yi! But Armadillo’s sister was different!
Lin Yi may be cold, but he was someone who treated relationships seriously! He was cold only to strangers and enemies. To friends and lovers, it was a different thing!
“Lin Yi honey, what’s wrong? You seem upset?” Xiaoxiao had been paying attention to Lin Yi’s expressions- she didn’t’ know who he was talking to, but she could feel his sudden heavy emotions.
“It’s nothing… Xiaoxiao, you free right now? Want to go somewhere with me?” Lin Yi asked.
“Oh? Is it to visit that sister of that someone you were talking about?” Xiaoxiao hadn’t heard much, but she got some parts of it.
“Yes, it’s a sister of my teammate back in war…” Lin Yi sighed. “That warmate sacrificed himself. He’s a good brother of mine…”
“Alright, let’s go! I’ll go with you!” Xiaoxiao could understand Lin Yi’s emotions- her father was in the same type of job, and some of his friends had lost their lives in missions as well. Her father would always feel really down when that happened.
