Chapter 1153 – All-purpose Shu
Upon exiting the tent with Xiaoxiao, an intense wave of sea breeze flowed into their nostrils. It freshened them up.
Lin Yi looked over to Mengyao’s tent. Things seemed rather quiet there, and Lin Yi didn’t go and disturb them. He went to the sea with Xiaoxiao alone, sitting on the sand.
“It’s so dark,” Xiaoxiao said as she cuddled into Lin Yi.
“It’s always darkest before dawn,” Lin Yi smiled as he tightly held Xiaoxiao’s body, “You cold?”
“It’s okay- I’m a bit cold, but your hug warms me up!” Xiaoxiao smiled sweetly. “Lin Yi, honey, look! There are even stars in the sky!
“Yeah…” Lin Yi nodded, remembering the time back where he was in some small country in Europe, remembering that night with Yu Ning.
That time, dawn was approaching. The stars in the sky back then reminded him of the situation today.
It was just that he had changed.
The stars were still the same stars, but the person beside him now was Xiaoxiao.
The Lin Yi back then was completely lost in life, unsure of where he should go in the future, drifting around without purpose. He didn’t dare get into a relationship and had always avoided stuff like that. He never promised Yu Ning anything, and he wasn’t able to give her the life she wanted!
She was a pretty flower in a greenhouse, and he was from a different world altogether!
He chose to run because of that.

The missions and the interactions he had with her after that made him realize that Yu Ning wasn’t as weak as he thought she was, but Lin Yi didn’t cross the line. He always remembered who she was! He didn’t want Yu Ning to suffer because of him; she deserved a better life, a happy life.
But, while this love was buried, Lin Yi’s relationship with Yu Ning became more and more flirtatious. Until that time when House Yu’s family appeared.
Lin Yi frowned, not wanting to continue thinking about it.
Let the past stay in the past- at least he was happy now, and satisfied.
This mission put him into a life in the city, and turned him into a normal person- he had emotions now.
He opened up because of what the old man promised- he said that this would be his last mission and that he could retire in Songshan. This would remove that feeling of drifting around that he used to olive in- this was why he could accept Tang Yun and Feng Xiaoxiao.
“Wow, it’s so romantic!” Lin Yi’s thoughts were pushed out as he came back into reality. He knew without looking that it was Yushu. Only she acted this way.
“You’re all awake?” Lin Yi turned around. The Miss, Shu, and Tang Yun were all here.
“Why’re you two so romantic here? I’m getting jealous! You guys are cuddling in the dark!” Yushu grinned. “Wanna switch?”
“Switch what??” Xiaoxiao blushed, “Isn’t there another spot beside Lin Yi’s husband? Go sit there!”
“Hehe, don’t mind if I do! Shield Bro gets one to the left and one to the right!” Yushu smiled as she went over.
But Mengyao stopped her, “Stop messing around. Let’s make some breakfast to welcome the sunrise.”
“Oh, okay!” Yushu remembered that she had a mission this morning, and that was to prepare a poached egg for Xiaoxiao to eat. And so, she listened to Mengyao and went to the car to get the stuff.
“I feel so happy right now!” Xiaoxiao said as she rested her head on Lin Yi’s shoulder, silently enjoying the peace.
“If you want, we can come here to watch the sunrise more often. We could come every year.” Lin Yi said.
“Yeah!” Xiaxiao felt her nose prick up, a bit sad. Every year..? Perhaps this was the last time she’d see a sunrise again.
Lin Yi guessed what she was thinking as well. He only became more determined that he would find some way to cure her!
The stars in the sky slowly faded, and the color of the morning filled the world.
“It’s morning soon.” Lin Yi said. “A new day.”
“Yeah, we live another day!” Xiaoxiao said deeply.
The Miss, Tang Yun, and Shu were finished with the preparations.
They were able to finish these things by themselves, but the rest would have to fall on Lin Yi.
“Xiaoxiao, wait for me a bit- I’ll make breakfast.” Lin Yi said.
“Can… Can you not go? I want to stay with you…” Xiaoxiao said unwillingly.
“Don’t worry. I’ll finish this before the sunrise!” Lin Yi smiled.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you then!” She nodded.
Lin Yi stood up and walked over to the fireplace with Yushu. He quickly lit it up, but one look at the eggs on the floor, and he was in trouble. The put the food on a barbeque rack yesterday, but this poached egg needed a pan of some sort or a metal plate… How was he supposed to fry it otherwise?
“If only we have a pan…” Lin Yi smiled bitterly.
“We do!” Yushu took out a pan for him.
“Huh?? You brought a pan?” Lin Yi blinked. “Do you have a spatula?”
“Yep! This isn’t’ a problem at all for All-purpose Shu!” Yushu handed Lin Yi a spatula.
“Wow… All-purpose Shu indeed…” Lin YI smiled bitterly, not knowing if he should praise her or nag her.
Lin Yi felt that the car was heavy enough already when driving- if Yushu had brought even a pan and spatula, it meant that there was even more stuff in there!
But Lin Yi had no time to dwell on that- the eggs were waiting.
He speedily fried the few poached eggs and gave a couple to Tang Yun, the Miss, and Shu- the last two were sent to Xiaoxiao. “Here, eat up!”
Xiaoxiao froze when she smelled the poached eggs!
“How did you know I wanted to eat poached eggs in front of a sunrise??” Xiaoxiao said, surprised and happy.
“I didn’t- I just made eggs, that’s all.” Lin Yi naturally couldn’t admit that he peeked at her phone. “Isn’t this a normal breakfast item?”
“But, on the beach… I didn’t think you could fry eggs here!” Xiaoxiao said happily as she held up her plate.
