Which woman would be willing to keep around another woman who wanted to climb into bed with their man? At least Gu Mengmeng wasn’t.
“Save your tears. I have never had any sympathy for my love rivals.” Gu Mengmeng walked over to Lea and let him carry her. He supported her butt with one hand, as he carried her like how one carried a child.
Making use of his height, Gu Mengmeng spoke from a high vantage point. “Find a good buyer within three days and sell Miranda off. This is the command of the Messenger of the Beast Deity. Death to those who defy me.”
With that, Gu Mengmeng glanced at the group of elders again with a faint smile. “Don’t provoke me if you really want to do what’s best for the snow fox tribe. Otherwise… it’s not a difficult matter for me to make a tribe disappear from this world without a trace.”
Gu Mengmeng suddenly unleashed her beast pressure before quickly withdrawing it. Elvis stood quietly behind Lea, supporting him. But the elders were not so lucky. They were all sprawled on the ground, unable to climb up.
Miranda was a female and not affected by the beast pressure. She just continued sitting there sobbing. Seeing that Gu Mengmeng and Lea were about to leave, she called out. “Ninth Highness… is it such an unpardonable crime to like you?”
Lea didn’t answer and didn’t pause. He just left the meeting room with Gu Mengmeng in his arms. He saw Hede and Jialue guarding the entrance with grim faces. They were probably impacted by Gu Mengmeng’s earlier beast pressure.
Lea said, “Make arrangements to sell Miranda within three days. Get a good bargain and sell her as far away as possible.”
Jialue clicked his tongue as he shook his head. “Daddy Lea, you are truly heartless…”
Lea glared at Jialue and said sternly, “You are not allowed to joke about this.”
Jialue shrugged. “I know you are hen-pecked, there’s no need for you to be so obvious about it.”
Gu Mengmeng remained silent the whole time. Her gaze was rather wooden as she laid on Lea’s shoulders.
How should she put it?
Wisdom told her that her decision was the right one.
This Miranda had impure intentions against Lea and was connected to Cole. She had put on a pitiful and wretched act all the way from the moment they met till now.
Her fear of Cole was real. But it didn’t rule out the possibility that Cole knew this and released her in Sauder to gain Gu Mengmeng’s sympathy.
Gu Mengmeng possessed Wang Xiaoxin’s psychology knowledge. It would be difficult to convince her with a fake act. Hence if Cole wanted to succeed, he had to present her with a scenario that was 80% truth layered with 20% of deceit.
So Miranda’s identity was true. Her fear of Cole was true. Her escape was true. At least Cole had her believe that she had escaped on her own.
The fact that Sauder was the only place in the entire Beast World that Cole didn’t dare step foot in, because Gu Mengmeng was holding court here, was also true. So as an escapee who feared Cole, Sauder was the natural choice. In addition, Lea, whom Miranda still held feelings for, was here. So all Cole had to do was to engineer an opportunity for Miranda to escape. Sauder would be her only destination of choice.
But Gu Mengmeng just couldn’t understand what was Cole’s motive in arranging for Miranda to come to Sauder? Could it be just to create trouble for Lea? To drive a wedge between Gu Mengmeng and Lea?
There was no doubt that Miranda was just a pawn in this matter. But… who could say that she was wholly innocent?
Everyone had their own uncontrollable whims and desires.
“What’s the matter? Are you feeling uncomfortable?” Lea asked after Gu Mengmeng worriedly when they returned to the stone castle.
