Chapter 1180: Snowing
In the luxurious car.
Lu Yeming lowered his head, looking through his documents when he felt some movements. Looking beside him, a beautiful face appeared. Tang Mo’er lowered her head, looking at the corner of his lip with lustrous eyes.
“Yeming, what happened?”
Lu Yeming just looked at her face, not paying attention to her words. “What?”
Tang Mo’er pointed her finger at the wound at the corner of his lip. “Here.”
Coughs. Someone seemed to have bitten the corner of his lip. Lu Yeming stretched his hand out, holding the finger in front of him. “Nothing.”
“But I think there’s something more behind it.” Tang Mo’er winked playfully. “Did… Qingqing bite you?”
Though Tang Mo’er was his elder sister, she felt a little shy asking her younger brother about such intimate things.
If only their mother was here.
“Mm.” Lu Yeming’s hand moved, clutching her entire hand. Her hand was cold and he rubbed them, trying to give her some warmth.
Tang Mo’er retracted her hand the next moment, laughing cheekily as she covered her mouth. “Yeming, you cannot bully a girl like that. You must take responsibility for her once you bully her. Qingqing is a good girl. Mom was very fond of her when she was still alive. I like her too.”
Lu Yeming remained calm even when she took her hand away, he just held the document in his hand and replied, “I’m fond of whoever you and Mom are fond of.”
“Are you serious? Then you and Qingqing…” Tang Mo’er wanted to strike the iron while it was hot.
“Sister.” Lu Yeming gave a Tang Mo’er a glance.
“…”
Tang Mo’er instantly kept quiet, she knew that her brother no longer wanted to talk about it, he never wanted to talk about relationship matters with her.
“Got it, I’ll stop. Why do you need to be so fierce towards me?” Tang Mo’er pouted her lips, turning her face and looking outside of the window.
With a resigned sigh, Lu Yeming furrowed his brows. “Sister, that wasn’t my intention.”
Turning around again, Tang Mo’er said hopefully, “Smile for me to prove that you’re not.”
Fan Men looked at them through the mirror, only to see the man in the back seat pause for two seconds before the corners of his lips curved.
He really smiled for her.
Fan Men quickly averted his eyes, he didn’t dare to look again.
Once she saw her brother smile, Tang Mo’er beamed. Her eyes crinkled into a smile, just like the beautiful stars in the sky. “Yeming, you look the best when you smile. You must smile more in the future.”
As he looked at her, Lu Yeming’s gaze was so gentle.
…
West Palace.
Tang Mo’er returned to her room and charged inside. Opening her hand, she had an entire bunch of hair on her palm.
Her hair was starting to fall.
Once she combed it, a huge bunch would fall out.
She already knew about it in the limousine earlier, but she hadn’t said a thing since she didn’t want Yeming to be worried about her. She wanted Yeming to smile even after she left this world.
Tears welled up in her eyes, she grabbed the basin with two hands till her joints went white.
Standing straight up, she picked up her phone in a panic and dialed the familiar phone number.
Mr Gu…
Her hands trembled as she tried to make the call.
But she quickly gave up.
She didn’t make the call, she could never, she must never tell him the truth.
But she really needed to hear his voice now.
She hadn’t seen Niuniu in a really long time.
She missed them both so much.
Feeling as though her heart had been emptied out, she thought she would be able to deal with life and death easily but apparently not.
She had so much that she couldn’t part with.
She really didn’t want to die yet.
She wanted to live.
She wanted to spend her time with Mr Gu, to turn old with him and watch Niuniu grow up.
Before the tears streamed down, Tang Mo’er lifted her head, taking deep breaths. She told herself over and over again, Mo’er, you’re fine, you’re strong, you’re brave, don’t be afraid.
After regaining a grip over herself, Tang Mo’er stepped out of the room. She didn’t want to sleep…
…
Lu Yeming went upstairs and it was then he saw Tang Mo’er’s room door ajar.
It was already 11 at night.
He turned, walking towards her room. “Sister.”
There was no response.
Walking on the carpeted ground with glistening leather shoes, he stepped inside the bathroom.
It was then that he saw the fallen hair. With narrowed eyes, he looked at the cell phone on the bathroom counter. The phone was still lit up and someone’s number was on the dial. Mr Gu…
Lu Yeming’s gaze landed on the contact ‘Mr Gu’ and he paused for two seconds. Without any expression on his face, he turned around and left the room.
Going downstairs, he pushed open the back door of the West Palace and noticed a lithe figure on the lawn.
Tang Mo’er was there.
She sat on the swing, wearing a pink maxi dress with a white coat. It was late at night and she just sat on the swing alone.
Lu Yeming walked over, draping a black cape over Tang Mo’er’s shoulders. With elegant movements, he tied the straps of the cape.
As she turned back, her voice soft and pleasant as she asked, “Yeming, why aren’t you in bed yet?”
In response, Lu Yeming only walked over, sitting beside her on the swing. He held a book in his hand. “I was reading.”
“Good child.” Tang Mo’er smiled.
Lu Yeming crossed his legs, leaning on the back of the swing. It was 11 at night and the moonlight shone on his face, making him appear even more suave than he already was.
He wore a black turtleneck sweater inside. Kicking at the lawn, the swing started to move.
Tang Mo’er lifted her head to look at the moon, suddenly saying, “Yeming, when do you think it will start to snow?”
It was late autumn and the weather was chilly, but it was still quite some time before it would snow. She somehow had a feeling that she wouldn’t be able to wait until the snow arrived.
Lu Yeming looked at Tang Mo’er’s face. “You want to see the snow?”
“Mm.” Tang Mo’er nodded.
Lu Yeming retracted his gaze, looking behind him. Fan Men had been guarding along the corridor since the start.
Once Fan Men noticed Lu Yeming’s gaze, he nodded and stepped aside to make a call. “Hello, West Duke has ordered for the entire city to be snowing tonight.”
Two minutes later, Tang Mo’er felt a speck of snow fall on her face.
She was stunned.
Lifting her head, she saw that it really was snowing above her. Her pupils contracted, she couldn’t believe it. Stretching her hand out, snow fell on her palm.
“Oh my god, Yeming, look, it’s snowing!” Tang Mo’er was ecstatic as she looked at him.
Fan Men went in front, handing over a black umbrella. Lu Yeming took the umbrella, sheltering Tang Mo’er with it.
