This General, Chen Jin, was in his fifties. When he was younger, he had achieved many great accomplishments and now wherever he went, he would be respectfully addressed as ‘General’.
Chen Qianqian was his only daughter. As the daughter of the General, her position was enviable.
An’an had heard that this General was righteous, upright and capable. But as he only had one daughter in the latter years of his life, she was the apple of his eye and he was more indulgent towards Chen Qianqian and thus, more lax in discipling her.
Lu Yan’s father’s record was removed by someone. This person thought that by removing the record, nothing could be investigated, which was ludicrous.
If anything, that person had left behind a very glaring suspicion. Why did he remove the record? What was his intention? There were many grounds for suspicion.
An’an wanted to find the old General. She wanted him to overturn the case.
“An’an, the old General is not someone whom we can meet easily, but I can help you to submit a report. The General is now conducting talks with the military at Country Z. You can fly to Country Z first, so even if the report is not accepted, you can find another solution.”
“Alright, thank you Leader.”
After hanging up the phone, An’an booked air tickets to Country Z. She would be flying off tomorrow.
At this moment, the door opened. Lu Yan had returned and he was holding plastic bags of takeaway food in his hands.
“Ah Yan, you’ve returned?” An’an said sweetly.
Looking at her smiling face, Lu Yan could not help but squeeze her face. He placed the porridge and some other tasty dishes near her.
“Have you waited very long?”
“No.”
The man stood by her side. She stretched her hands out to wrap his muscular waist and her head nuzzled against his torso, like a needy and affectionate little fox.
Lu Yan curved his lips. It was only then that he realized that she was really clingy and needy. He placed the chopsticks in her hand. “Stop playing, eat!”
What a dense fellow!
An’an ate a mouthful of the porridge. Mm, it was so delicious.
At this moment, she realized that there was a flickering human shadow at the window of the room. There was someone outside, and he seemed pretty familiar. It was Lin Shun.
An’an looked at Lu Yan. “Why is he here?”
Lu Yan picked up a green bean and placed it in her mouth. His face was devoid of any expression. “Just eat.”
An’an swallowed the green bean with sparkling eyes. She picked up a small piece of stir-fried meat and placed it into the man’s mouth. “This meat is for you. Men will have strength only if they eat meat.”
Lu Yan chewed the meat in his mouth and glanced up and down at her, before responding seductively, “What’s the point of having strength? To plough land?”
“What do you mean by ploughing land?” An’an did not comprehend.
Lu Yan arched his long eyebrows and looked at her with an indecent expression. “Of course it’s to plough a little watery wheat field.”
One second, two seconds… Realization suddenly dawned on An’an and her face was instantly flaming. This man… was too lewd!
She promptly bowed her head and focused on eating her porridge.
At this moment, the door was pushed open and Lin Shun was standing by the door anxiously, followed by a huge group of FIU members. “Qianqian has been kidnapped by Delia’s men. They are now desperate and they can do anything. Are you going to save her?”
Qianqian had been kidnapped?
An’an’s luscious lashes quivered and she curved her lips impassively. Qianqian and Lin Shun had been so arrogant recently, making them easy targets. They deserved it.
And to think this pathetic Lin Shun still had the cheek to ask Lu Yan to save Qianqian.
“I didn’t want to look for you too, but now we can’t find their hideout. Only you can save Qianqian…”
He had barely finished his sentence when Lu Yan snatched a book from the table and hurled it towards Lin Shun. “Even a crow is not as noisy as you. Get lost!”
Lin Shun’s face paled from being so embarrassed.
The door closed.
An’an ate a mouthful of porridge and glanced sideways at the man beside her. He was eating his meal and his wispy fringe covered his eyes. He had already finished a big portion of his meal. The muscles in his body were all bulked up.
“Ah Yan, will you save Qianqian?”
Lu Yan did not raise his head, nor did he have any expression. “Chen Qianqian did not betray you. She doesn’t have the guts.”
It was Delia’s men who had found out about An’an’s identity and Qianqian had nothing to do with it.
An’an lightly bit on her chopsticks. “And so, will you save her?”
Lu Yan finished his meal without leaving even a grain of rice. He snatched over her chopsticks and started to feed her. “Eat quickly. The porridge and dishes are turning cold.”
An’an pouted her red lips. She knew that he would save Qianqian.
But on what basis was he going to do so?
The wound of his back was scarring, and there was still inflammation at his amputated leg. This man insisted on shouldering everything by himself and would not even make a sound even when he was in pain.
There were pricks of pain in her heart.
She obediently ate the porridge he fed her, but she did not speak to him again.
After she finished her porridge, she stood up and tidied the table. “I’ll do it, you can leave now.”
She entered the washroom. Standing in front of the washstand, she turned the tap and started to wash her hands.
At this moment, she heard a flurry of steady footsteps. Lu Yan did not leave and he had entered the washroom.
An’an raised her head and her eyes collided with the man’s eyes in the mirror. Lu Yan stuck both hands into his trousers pockets. He closed the washroom door with his arms and gazed intensely at her.
Soon later, he walked over and his broad body was behind her. He pinned her delicate body against the washstand.
An’an wanted to move but the man lowered his head and his soft lips started kissing her face.
“Lu Yan, go away!” She pushed him angrily.
But his broad body would not budge. He found her red lips and kissed her immediately. His long tongue slipped in and he devoured her relentlessly, almost robbing her of her breath.
An’an opened her mouth and gently bit on the tip of his tongue.
Lu Yan released her slightly but his lips were still on hers. His deep and hoarse voice was tinged with happiness and love. “Looks like you’ve recovered. You have the strength to bite me.”
Lu Yan’s hands squeezed her svelte waist. An’an tried to restrain him but she could not.
“What are you doing? This is the hospital!” Her eyes were reddened and tiny teardrops clung to her long eyelashes.
“If you don’t make a sound, who will know what we are doing?”
“Lu Yan!”
This man had a motive.
Lu Yan knitted his brows and planted scorching hot kisses at the back of her ears. He said softly, “I’m sorry, don’t be angry.”
His apologies promptly make An’an’s heart ache. She turned around and hugged him tightly.
“Ah Yan, you don’t have to apologize. I should be the one saying sorry. I shouldn’t throw tantrums like a child, I just… can’t bear to let you go.”
Lu Yan stroked her hair and his voice was calm and resolute. “I’ll be back very soon.”
An’an sniffed, managed her emotions and gave a smile. “Hm, I won’t get angry. You’d better get going.”
Lu Yan curved his thin lips and tugged her clothes. “I’ll go now. Don’t worry, we still have to work harder to complete our project of having a child.”
