The next morning.
Tang Mo’er’s luscious lashes fluttered and she opened her eyes. She had fallen asleep on the bed in the hostel.
She washed up, disposed the cake and dumplings on the table into the rubbish bin, grabbed her bag and left the house.
At the campus, a big group of girls had gathered there and were screaming excitedly—-Ah, Professor Gu, Professor Gu is here.
Tang Mo’er raised her eyes. A Rolls-Royce Phantom car had come to a stop. The door opened and Gu Mohan alighted.
The man was wearing a navy blue cashmere coat, with a white shirt beneath, and black trousers. He looked like a male god, and exuded gracefulness and elegance.
The girls screamed maniacally once he appeared.
Tang Mo’er did not step forward. She took a glance from where she was standing and turned around silently to leave.
Gu Mohan had already seen the familiar figure. In the sea of people, he saw her at one glance.
But she had turned around and left.
She was wearing a black sweater today with a white casual shirt beneath. Her silky black hair cascaded casually down her smooth shoulders, revealing half of her little face. She had a bluetooth earpiece in her ear and he was unsure who she was talking to.
She kept her head bowed throughout the whole time, and even her luscious eyelashes were lowered. There was not any pitiful expression on her face, but she looked especially pathetic.
She resembled a little kitten which had been beaten and did not cry, but merely turned around and left.
Gu Mohan’s handsome features became so sombre that a stinging feeling surfaced behind his eyes.
…
Tang Mo’er was on the phone conversing with Qi Xi. She said in a soft voice, “Qi Xi, please help me to book the earliest air tickets. I want to return to Karghalik.”
“Mo’er, I thought you went to Capital to look for Mr Gu. How was it? Will Mr Gu be coming back with you?” Qi Xi asked in excitement.
Tang Mo’er looked at the stones near her feet. Perhaps Qi Xi was certain that she would bring Mr Gu back home. Before she came to Capital, she had confidently informed Qi Xi that she would bring Mr Gu back.
“Qi Xi, I have broken up with Mr Gu.”
“What? Mo’er, are you joking with me? This joke is not funny at all!” Qi Xi’s voice was shocked.
Tang Mo’er silently hung up the phone. She placed her cell phone into her bag, and she thought to herself that it probably was not considered a break-up between Mr Gu and her.
Ever since he had lost his memory, they had not even started any kind of relationship.
Tang Mo’er carried her books in her arms and kicked the stones at her feet listlessly.
At this point, she heard An’an’s voice. “Sister-in-law.”
Tang Mo’er looked up. An’an had run over, and Gu Mohan was behind her.
Gu Mohan had come to look for An’an.
“Sister-in-law, are you here to look for me?” An’an looked at Tang Mo’er with her enchanting eyes.
“Mm.” Tang Mo’er nodded and handed over the books in her arms to An’an. She curved her pretty lips. “An’an, I’m giving you these books.”
An’an was flummoxed as she received the books. “Sister-in-law, why are you giving me these books?”
“An’an, I don’t have a need for these books anymore, and so I’m giving these to you. You have to study and live well, and most importantly, love yourself, understand?” Tang Mo’er advised An’an like how a sister-in-law would advise a younger sister.
“Sister-in-law, what’s the matter with you?”
“I’m okay, An’an. I’m going back to Karghalik. When you are free, come to Karghalik and I will take you around.” Tang Mo’er flashed her a brilliant smile, but it seemed like tears threatened to spill beneath that bright smile.
Sister-in-law was returning to Karghalik.
An’an promptly turned around and looked accusingly at the tall, handsome figure behind her.
Gu Mohan’s deep and narrow eyes were fixated on the woman’s small, delicate face. He did not celebrate her 22nd birthday with her last night, and today she was going to leave Capital. Should he say that she was being sensible or practical?
“Sister-in-law, you are leaving already, aren’t you going to greet my brother?”
Greet him?
Tang Mo’er curved her red lips and did not look at Gu Mohan. She merely looked at An’an and softly said, “Bye.”
After speaking, she turned around and left.
She left.
She had really left.
Gu Mohan stiffened on the spot. He clenched his fists. He felt that something was going to disappear from his life.
He kept staring at the woman’s figure, until she disappeared from his sight.
But he did not chase after her.
He let her go.
…
Tang Mo’er exited the school main gate. She did not bring along any luggage. After all, everything she needed would be in Karghalik. When she came over to the Capital, she did not bring anything, and now that she was leaving, she was also empty-handed.
She wanted to dial for a taxi, but at this juncture, a luxurious car came to a stop in front of her. A butler alighted from the car and politely said, “Miss Tang, good day to you. Old Master Gu would like to invite you to our residence.”
Old Master Gu?
Tang Mo’er had nothing to say to Old Master Gu. She glanced at the two bodyguards behind the butler and her bright eyes shone. “Can I refuse to go?”
The butler smiled and shook his head. “No, you cannot.”
“Oh, then let’s go.” Tang Mo’er got into the car by herself, as she felt that it would look dreadful for her to be brought into the car by the bodyguards.
She had some understanding of Old Master Gu and knew he would not endanger her life. This sly old fox was indeed cunning.
…
Tang Mo’er was brought to a party. At the party, there were the most prestigious and influential people in Capital.
Everyone was wearing beautiful long dresses and she was only wearing a sweater. She looked like a trespasser when she entered.
Very soon, the ladies from the prestigious families were pointing at her and gossiping—-
“Look, isn’t that Tang Mo’er? Why is she dressed like this?”
“Is she here to wreak havoc again? Old Master Gu is going to announce President Gu and Miss Jun’s wedding date today.”…
Gu Mohan and Jun Xiyan’s wedding date… had been set.
Tang Mo’er’s luscious lashes quivered. There were stinging pricks of pain in her eyes.
At this moment, Old Master Gu and Jun Xiyan appeared. Jun Xiyan was wearing an elegant long dress and holding onto Old Master Gu’s arm. Old Master Gu walked to the center of the stage and waved his hand. The crowd quietened down.
“Everyone, welcome to this party. Now, I will like to make an announcement. My grandson, Mohan, and Xiyan’s wedding will be held early next month. They will get married at the beginning of next month!”
After these words were uttered, the crowd applauded. Everyone congratulated and cheered. “Congratulations Old Master Gu, congratulations President Gu and Miss Jun. Miss Jun, as the bride, you have to work hard to give Old Master Gu a great-grandchild.”
The crowd laughed uproariously.
There was merriment and laughter all around. Tang Mo’er stood at the spot alone. She understood that this was Old Master Gu’s motive. This Old Master Gu was ruthless and merciless. He was especially adept in attacking one at their weakest area.
He had invited her to this party to be shamed.
