Ye Yuwei’s focus moved to his hand which was holding the roasted wild pheasant. She rushed to Gu Juexi’s side and held his right arm which was hanging limply at his side. “Gu Juexi, your arm…” Ye Yuwei began anxiously.
“Don’t worry. It will be fine after two days,” assured Gu Juexi. He leaned his forehead against hers and said, “The pheasant will be ready to eat soon.”
Ye Yuwei sat down dejectedly beside Gu Juexi and muttered, “I should not go back.”
