“Moo-Moo!”
This strange beast was letting out a cow’s ‘moo’. It could actually still let out its voice after being suppressed by the double pressure from the Massacre Intent and the Fire Dragon Sword?
Jiang Yi didn’t really bother about the mooing as long as it remained immobilized. Jiang Yi locked his eyes on this demonic beast, and once it made any movement—like releasing its demonic art, the Fire Dragon Sword would mercilessly cleave down. He was ready to release his Devil Sky Silk at any moment as well as he believed that when this demonic beast was being suppressed, its attack speed would never be faster than his own.
Fortunately, this demonic beast seemed to understand at this point as its pair of cold eyes let out a blue light which fearfully looked at Jiang Yi’s Fire Dragon Sword while remaining motionless, allowing Jiang Yi’s spirit beast talisman to constantly form more golden wordings.
“Moo-Moo!”
With every wording formed, the strange beast would bellow while its head shuddered as the fear in its eyes intensified. With more golden wordings coming out, Jiang Yi felt even more secure as the ferocious aura from the strange beast’s eyes turned weaker—making it even hard to resist.
“Moo-Moo!”
Unlike what Jiang Yi expectedly—once the golden wordings were completed, the strange beast sudden roared out and began to retreat. Its body was lighting up with a yellow glow and didn’t seem to be slowed down by the double pressure from the Massacre Intent and the Fire Dragon Sword.
“Hmph!”
How could Jiang Yi allow a piece of meat that was already in his mouth to slip away?
Jiang Yi’s Fire Dragon Sword has a surge of light as two fire dragons began to swim in the sword body, further increasing the oppressive aura. Jiang Yi’s body rushed forward while the golden wordings on the spirit beast talisman continuously made its way onto the strange beast.
“Moo-Moo!”
The strange beast didn’t stop trembling while the retreating speed decreased as well. Jiang Yi’s eyes lit up as he increased the speed, forming the golden wordings at a faster pace.
“Buzz!”
When the final wording landed on the demonic beast, its body instantly let out a blinding glow of yellow light, illuminating the surrounding mud. It was at this moment that Jiang Yi could feel a trace of soul spirit connection with this demonic beast as a wisp of soul essence entered his soul spirit through the spirit beast talisman—which meant that this demonic beast had been tamed into a spirit beast.
“Withdraw!”
Jiang Yi was delighted as the spirit beast talisman glowed while the spirit beast turned into yellow light and vanished into the spirit beast talisman.
“Okay!”
Jiang Yi quickly went back to the underground cave and headed towards the surface at his top speed. He emerged onto the surface while the spirit beast talisman lit up with golden light as he shouted, “Come out!”
“Buzz!”
There was a flash of yellow light, and an enormous beast appeared on the surface, looking at Jiang Yi intimately with those eyes that emitted blue light. It seemed like this demonic beast had the same level of spirit wisdom as the Silver-Moon Demon Wolf, which was obviously not as wise as the little Three-Tailed Spirit Fox.
“What is this strange beast? Mountain-Piercing Beast?”
Jiang Yi looked at this big fellow with confusion. It was a pangolin-type beast, which was more than six meters in length and one meter in height. It had six horns on the head, a row of spikes on the back, and had a long tail with smaller spikes, too. This strange beast was covered in a yellow plate of armor, reflecting cold light. The knees of its limbs were covered in spikes as well as each hoof had four or five razor-sharp claws. The head wasn’t long and sharp-shaped like a pangolin, but it was like a bull’s head.
“The spikes on the back are not bad at all. I can sit right in the middle!”
Jiang Yi glanced at the row of spikes on the back and leaped onto it, sitting in-between two of the one-meter long spikes. He didn’t have to worry about falling off after he jammed his body in-between. He touched the icy cool spikes on the front, grabbing onto it and yelling out, “Dig!”
“Moo-Moo!”
The strange beast let out a roar while the body lit up with yellow light. Jumping forward with its four limbs, the giant head ran into the surface of the ground. The six horns on the head concurrently lit up with yellow light, reflecting a shine.
A bizarre thing happened. The mud in front was actually turned into dust as soon as the horns made contact. The strange beast rushed into the ground, creating a huge tunnel at breakneck speed as it ran quickly, taking a few blinks of the eye before digging more than a hundred meters into the ground.
“Goddammit, what demonic beast is this? Could it be an ancient species?”
Jiang Yi licked his lips as the demonic beast was traveling like it was on land. With this mount in his hands that allowed him to escape underground, would regular martial artists be able to keep up with him? He just had to casually swing the Fire Dragon Sword to cause a collapse in the tunnel behind him, and the pursuers would have to excavate a new tunnel to chase after him.
Experts might be wielding spirit or heaven artifacts which would help increase their digging speed, but would it be faster than this strange beast? What’s more, this beast’s speed might not be comparable to the Silver-Moon Demon Wolf, but it wasn’t inferior by a huge difference. It was definitely one of the faster tier-three demonic beasts.
“Surface!”
Jiang Yi gave an order to this strange beast, which led it to run upwards. It ran at an almost vertical angle, which would surely swing off Jiang Yi if his body wasn’t in-between the two spikes.
“Bang!”
The surface of the ground erupted as the strange beast broke through, scaring away the nearby tier-two demonic beast. Jiang Yi used his hand to feel the armored scales of this weird yellow beast and nodded with satisfaction. “I might not know what kind of demonic beast are you, but since you have become my spirit beast, I shall give you a name. You shall be called Big Huang 1!”
“Moo-Moo!”
Such a big guy had been addressed like an enormous dog by Jiang Yi; this seemingly caused some dissatisfaction to this beast as it bellowed, expressing its discontent.
“Haha, Big Huang, let’s go! To Mt. Fire Cloud!”
Obtaining the spirit beast, Jiang Yi didn’t want to delay anymore and ordered Big Huang to run towards the southwest direction.
“Eh?”
Once they began traveling, Jiang Yi felt something weird. This demonic beast seemed to have slower speed on the surface? It wasn’t exactly slow, but it was obviously slower than when it was traveling underground. After traversing for a distance, Jiang Yi thought of an idea and yelled out, “Big Huang, go underground!”
“Moo-Moo!”
Big Huang let out a deep call and rushed into the ground. Once underground, its speed was indeed much faster, which flabbergasted Jiang Yi as he didn’t know why it was like this.
“We shall travel underground then! It is safer anyway, and we don’t have to pick a route. Full speed in a straight line!”
The underground might be a bit stuffier, and the air was a little moister, too, but Jiang Yi didn’t bother about it. After Big Huang dug for more than hundreds of meters later, Jiang Yi asked it to rush straight in the southwest direction. He could just surface after a certain distance to make sure that he wasn’t going to the wrong place.
It was naturally much safer to traverse underground. Although there were demonic beasts underground, the chances were pathetically rare. Would these demonic beasts dare to approach Big Huang, which was also a tier-three demonic beast? Right now, Jiang Yi was controlling Big Huang and rushing in the southwest direction. They would be traveling in the opposite direction of Mt. Thirty Thousand, making it even safer.
It was rather stable when Jiang Yi rode on Big Huang and much more comfortable than riding on the Silver-Moon Demon Wolf. Big Huang had been traveling underground, turning all the soil and rocks into dust upon contact with its horns; there wasn’t a need to pick a path, and there weren’t any bumps as well as though Jiang Yi was riding on a giant boulder which was moving quickly.
“Not bad, not bad at all!”
After making haste for a period of time, Jiang Yi nodded with satisfaction. They encountered a tier-one underground demonic beast, but it was easily turned into mince by Big Huang’s horns—which gave Jiang Yi even more ease. It was rather boring to travel underground; hence, Jiang Yi entered a meditative state and began to comprehend the third rank of the Nameless Divine Art.
“Why can’t I comprehend this third rank of the Nameless Divine Art? Am I thinking in the wrong direction?”
After trying to comprehend it for several days, Jiang Yi was still couldn’t figure anything out. This chanting was starting to look even more mystical, causing Jiang Yi to doubt whether his comprehending was in the correct concept. He decided that if he still couldn’t comprehend after a period of time, he would wait for a chance encounter which would help him to instantly comprehend it.
