Glory Capital wanted to take back Tanaris and take over the two new maps. This way, their territories would link up with Barrenlands and ensure their spot at the top.
Tanaris was taken away from Gale Legion by Blood Red War Flag. Gale Legion was the sub guild of Glory Capital, which meant that they were basically challenging Glory Capital.
As such, Lu Li wasn’t worried about Glory Capital giving him trouble.
Glory Capital and Blood Red War Flag would definitely go up against each other this time and Lu Li was happy to watch from the sidelines.
However, after Jade Flower Lover arrived, everything changed.
“Lu Li, do you not see Glory Capital’s motives? They’re clearly going to go for Orgrimmar next; their goal is to take over the entire Kalimdor. Lu Li, Grey Valley will eventually be under threat. How do you even sleep at night?”
“I… I slept pretty well last night. Just get to the point,” Lu Li joked.
“We hope that Ruling Swords will attack the Barrenlands at full power.”
Jade Flower Lover felt like he was wasting his time. He hated talking to these people because it was so tiring.
“How does that benefit me and how does that benefit you guys?” Lu Li asked directly.
“You get the Barrenlands. Is that not good enough?” Jade Flower Lover said emotionally.
“Since when were we on such good terms?” Lu Li was skeptical.
“It’s obviously beneficial to us as well. We’re afraid that we will not able to defend Tanaris against Glory Capital, unless Ruling Sword is able to attack them and divert some of their troops. I’m being fully honest. Please don’t doubt our motives,” Jade Flower Lover sighed.
“Do you think I’m stupid? What if you go to Glory Capital after this and tell them not to attack you guys, but attack Ruling Sword instead because our two Strongholds will be empty when we attack the Barrenlands?
Jade Flower Lover fell speechless; he did not expect Lu Li to be this smart.
“Give me some actual incentives to help you guys. Why would we risk our own land for you?” Lu Li became annoyed and started picking his ear. He did not have the mannerisms of a Major Guild Leader at all.
“I… We’re not lying to you,” Jade Flower Lover pleaded, feeling like he was about to cry.
“I have no reasons to believe you,” Lu Li said firmly.
“Then what do you want?” Jade Flower Lover regretted coming. He shouldn’t have gone to Ruling Swords. Lu Li was such an unpredictable man. The last time they went to the Wings of Dawn and asked them to attack Ruling Sword, they did it without asking any questions.
“Firstly, you guys will pay the auction money. Secondly..” Lu Li began as he raised his second finger.
It took Jade Flower a lot of willpower not to snap off his two fingers as he interrupted, “Do you know how much it is to auction for the right to attack? Oh, you wouldn’t, because Ruling Sword is happy with the two Strongholds that they have and have no idea how much it is now.”
“There’s no use in trying to anger me,” Lu Li laughed. “Secondly, you have to go and tell everyone Ruling Sword’s strategy, which is to set Grey Valley as our main base and slowly chip away at our neighboring lands until we eventually take over Kalimdor.”
“You…you’re joking right?” Jade Flower Lover asked.
“I never joke; I’m serious. I want to attack the Barrenlands but you guys know we have no money,” Lu Li said truthfully.
“Okay.”
Jade Flower Lover thought about it and eventually made the decision to agree to Lu Li’s terms. The main reason was because not many others would auction for the Barrenlands and as such, the price wouldn’t be too high. If Ruling Sword managed to take down the Barrenlands, then Blood Red War Flag’s Tanaris would be safe.
“Hold on, thirdly….” Lu Li said as he raised his third finger.
“Mr. Lu, don’t take advantage of others please,” Jade Flower Lover begged, feeling his blood pressure rising.
“We’re risking a lot for you guys, so giving us some potions and resources would make sense,” Lu Li said.
“Should we give you guys the equipment and some manpower as well?!” Jade Flower Lover grabbed Lu Li’s collar and yelled.
“Uh, that won’t be neccessary.”
“It’s not like you guys are giving us the Barrenlands after you take it. Why are we paying such a heavy price?!” Jade FLower Lover cried out.
“Cough, cough, let go. Are you trying to commit a murder?” Lu Li escaped his grasp and pulled away from Jade Flower, then said calmly, “You guys will keep your land so why are you being so stingy? You can go plead to the other Guilds and see if Sorrowless is willing to use all their power to defend.”
Lu Li’s sentence persuaded Jade Flower because this was the reality.
Glory Capital was too powerful and Ruling Sword, Blood Red War Flag and any other guild could not compare. However, Sorrowless was not scared of Ruling Sword, but of Lu Li himself.
He was afraid of his random and unpredictable tactics which had led to his defeat many, many times.
If Ruling Sword actually attacked the Barrenlands at full power, no matter how prideful Sorrowless was, he would still defend with full power. The Barrenlands were too important for Ruling Swords and Glory Capital had to make sure they didn’t take it.
Jade Flower Lover was right; Glory Capital wanted to make Orgrimmar their main base.
“We don’t have potions, but we can give you gold. How much?”
“I’ll get someone to tally up our costs based on the last time we faced off against Glory Capital. Don’t worry, we won’t rig the stats,” Lu Li said seriously.
Jade Flower Lover was very unwilling but had no other choice but to come to an agreement.
Lu Li did not waste anytime and successfully auctioned the rights to attack the Barrenlandss with 40,000 gold.
This sounded like a steep price, but it was actually quite low compared to the other auctions. No other guild dared to challenge Glory Capital.
Blood Red War Flag paid for the auction fee as well as 20,000 gold on top to cover the cost of potions, which tallied up to 60,000 gold for Ruling Sword to attack Glory Capital for them.
For Jade Flower Lover, this was actually quite worth it because they would likely get to keep their Stronghold.
Gale Legion managed to win the auction for the rights to attack Tanaris.
Sorrowless kept most of his manpower at the Barrenlands to defend against Ruling Sword. The two guilds were set to face off again.
