Lu Li had no idea what was in the treasure box either.
People always thought that these top players only cared about Legendary equipments.
Zul’Mashar was spread out below him. It was a decent area with favorable geography, but this was all a long time ago. Ever since the Scourge invaded Lordaeron, the rich soil no longer prospered.
Lu Li didn’t dare to fly for too long in the skies of Zul’Marshar, as this would attract predators.
As such, he kept his route unstable, confusing those who constantly checked on his coordinates. However, they were all on the ground and none of them posed any threat to Lu Li.
Some of the smarter players had already given up on this treasure map. From the coordinates, they had made a good guess on the identity of the owner. Besides Lu Li, there were only a handful of people who could fly, including Hachi Chan and others like Old Man Power. Most importantly, none of them were easy targets.
Amongst all these names, it seemed like one didn’t quite fit in, considering that Hachi Chan’s PVP skills were quite questionable.
However, she was still the little princess of Ruling Sword. Countless people would be happy to avenge her, and anyone who wanted to touch her would have to put their lives on the line.
Regardless, many were stilling eyeing Lu Li. They tracked him from land, refusing to rest for even the slightest moment.
No matter how high Lu Li flew, he had to come down eventually for the treasure.
This was their chance. Some of them were even more ambitious, looking beyond the treasure. In their eyes, Lu Li was a moving treasure box himself; anything that dropped from him was guaranteed to be good.
Needless to say, they were quite smart.
“I heard you’ve found another treasure map. Do you need help?” Water Fairy messaged him.
Lu Li, who had been circling for quite some time, had found the location of Hameya and was just about to ask for some help. Water Fairy’s message had come just in time. In his opinion, he had stayed in the sky for too long, and a good amount of people had an idea about his treasure map by now.
It was easy to figure out the identity of the map owner; all they had to do was to check Lu Li’s position through the bounty method.
If Lu Li’s coordinates were in sync with this ‘Hameya’s Plea’, then everything would become explainable. This also explained the messages of Water Fairy.
“Sure, I obtained a treasure map from the trial tower this week,” Lu Li said, not bothering to hide anything.
A treasure map could sometimes give an average player a great fortune, but regardless of what it rewarded, it would never be enough to make someone of Water Fairy’s status greedy.
“Really? Then can I participate?” Water Fairy asked with interest.
“It’s just a simple map; there probably won’t be too much obstacles,” Lu Li said. He could figure out what Water Fairy was thinking. She needed something to spice up her average daily life and treasure hunting seemed like the perfect idea.
It wasn’t so much about the gain; it was more about the process.
“Why’d you drag out the process for so long if it was simple? Everyone knows that your treasure is in Plaguelands right now,” Water Fairy said, clearly still interested.
“The search process was slightly troublesome, but I’ve found the target now,” Lu Li replied.
“Are you sure you won’t be facing a heavy assault as soon as you land on the ground? There are plenty of people out there who want your equipment; they’re probably more valuable than the treasure map.” Water Fairy seemed to have a clear idea of what was going on in the Plaguelands right now.
“Then what do you suggest?” Lu Li asked.
“You keep on flying in the sky and tell me the coordinates. I’ll help you,” Water Fairy suggested. She wasn’t too dumb either; it wasn’t hard for her to come up with the same plans as Lu Li.
“Alright, hopefully we can successfully get the treasure,” Lu Li agreed.
He didn’t mind giving Water Fairy a chance, although he had no clue why an important figure of a gaming company would have so much spare time in her hands. Not only did she have to look after Drizzle Court, but she also had to worry about the other guilds under their name.
Tower of Smoking Rain, Two Dimensional Dorm, Hidden Sky and Blue Universe were all guilds with a chance of making it into the top 100.
Lu Li passed the coordinates to Water Fairy and flew away from the target by himself. He was now a bait, being tracked down by a pack of hungry Treasure Hunters.
“I see the Hameya you were talking about. What now?”
“Kill him; he’ll drop a key,” Lu Li said.
“Kill him? The treasure map is called Hameya’s Plea and you want me to kill him?” Water Fairy couldn’t quite believe how this storyline was about to unfold.
“Yes, that’s his request,” Lu Li said, then briefly explained the background story behind this treasure map, “Hameya is now an Undead – he wanted to die before he would become a part of the Scourge and bring disaster to his home.”
“But there are Undeads everywhere in Zul’Mashar right now. We’re most likely late.”
“That’s not the main point. The main point is, the key is on him. You have to get the key first for me to see the location of the treasure chest,” Lu Li said with a smile. “Missy, aren’t you a bit too deep into the storyline.”
“You…” Water Fairy said in frustration, “You’re so cold-hearted!”
Shouldn’t most people have been touched by this storyline? How many people would be able to write down their will, asking to be killed as they became infected and tormented by the plague.
Hameya was a hero.
Since Lu Li obtained Hameya’s scroll, he should be serving him, but unfortunately, they had come too late.
However, Lu Li didn’t care about this – all he cared about was the treasure. This was what Water Fairy couldn’t accept.
“No matter what you think, we can’t change anything, so it’s better not to hesitate. It’s very tiring to fly in the sky.”
Lu Li didn’t want to argue with her; this wasn’t something that was worth an argument.
They had a difference in terms of background. If Water Fairy wanted to change something, there would be plenty of people at her service. In fact, her attitude decided how her surrounding changes. However, it was a different story for Lu Li – he was someone who had to adapt to his environment in order to survive, and this gave him a more realistic attitude towards life.
Hameya was definitely an honorable man; Lu Li was impressed by him too. There weren’t many good reasons for a man to seek his own death.
However, none of these were convincing enough to impact on Lu Li’s treasuring hunting process.
At the end of the day, he knew that this was a game. He couldn’t be too influenced by the content that it presented.
Not to mention, the destruction of Zul’Mashar had nothing to do with him. He had only received the scroll today and had come immediately without delay, so it wasn’t his fault at all for not making it on time.
Water Fairy was just a bit emotional, but she wasn’t unrealistic either. She quickly got rid of her negative emotions and began to work.
