The ox monster held a huge axe and its eyes shone with red light. Everything neck-down was hairy.
He was burly and veins bulged under the skin.
Red vapor spewed out of his nostrils and he let out a low growl.
“I’ve controlled it!” Hopkins called out.
“I’ll go get the Foundation Stone,” Torila said.
“You have to stay and protect me.” Hopkins clearly didn’t want Torila to touch the Foundation Stone first.
The Crypt Demons screamed at the ox man.
He replied with a thunderous growl.
The Crypt Demons charged into the center, but the ox man lifted a fist and sent a demon flying out.
As if going crazy, the Crypt Demons all charged over.
But they were powerless against the ox man. He was too strong.
Even though the Crypt Demons had an advantage in numbers, they still weren’t his match.
“This is a minotaur, right?” West and the others had very uncomfortable expressions.
A legendary monster was right before their eyes. How could they keep calm?
“Aren’t minotaurs from Greek mythology?” Chen Zhao asked. “How can it be here? The history here should be more ancient than the ancient Greeks, right?”
“It’s not the time to discuss this, President… What should we do?”
Chen Zhao looked toward the center. The ox man was waving his axe there.
Even though this stopped the Crypt Demons from approaching, it also stopped the Grandfather and Torila from getting close.
All the Crypt Demons were gathering at the top.
They attacked the ox man crazily, but the man was too destructive for them.
When he swept his axe across, three or four Crypt Demons would be dismembered.
Right then, the old Crypt Demon looked at Chen Zhao.
“Help me.”
Chen Zhao hesitated. Should he help?
“Give you. That.” The old demon pointed at the Foundation Stone in the center.
Chen Zhao frowned. Weren’t they attacking the ox monster at all costs just to protect the Foundation Stone?
Why would they give it to him?
No, it wasn’t logical.
“Why?” Chen Zhao asked.
The old Crypt Demon looked at the center again.
Chen Zhao couldn’t actually communicate smoothly with it.
Crypt Demons were a creature between humans and wild beasts.
It was still hard for Chen Zhao to communicate with the beast whisperer language.
“Baliya, give me the bracelet,” Chen Zhao said. “Support me with your dance.”
Baliya gave him a bracelet and then started dancing.
Chen Zhao pulled out the bronze sword and stepped toward the ox monster.
Right then, the ox monster raised his huge axe again and hacked down at Chen Zhao.
Mouth of Gluttony! Eye of Power!
Purple Qi covered the bronze sword instantly.
The sword clashed with the axe.
Chen Zhao felt an unprecedented force and stumbled two steps back.
The ox man also took a step back.
Everyone gaped at Chen Zhao.
Even though he’d lost, that strike was still shocking.
He was facing a monster that was ten times bigger than him.
A legendary monster.
The Grandfather, Hopkins, and Torila also looked on in disbelief.
Was this guy really human?
He was a monster too!
Chen Zhao felt his blood roiling. “Again!”
“I’ll go get the Foundation Stone,” Torila said while sprinting toward the center.
Hopkins wanted to stop her, but he couldn’t be distracted right now.
He had to control the ox monster.
The Crypt Demons saw Torila approach the center and instantly pounced toward her.
Glancing at them, Torila released the spirits of ten ancient witches to help block them.
Chen Zhao saw Torila in the corner of his vision. The black shadow under his feet suddenly moved.
It stretched to the stone platform and grabbed the Foundation Stone.
But the instant the shadow grabbed the stone, the stone actually sank into the shadow.
This wasn’t what Chen Zhao had planned.
He’d wanted to give it to the Mouth of Gluttony.
But the black shadow took it instead.
That instant, the shadow expanded suddenly, becoming more than ten times larger than before.
The shadow under the ox monster’s feet was also covered.
His feet started sinking into the shadow. It was like he was in quicksand.
The ox monster tried to break free from the black quicksand. He lifted a foot, but he lost balance and his body was dragged into darkness quickly.
At the same time, the shadow extended hands that kept tugging at the ox monster’s limbs.
Seeing that Chen Zhao actually snatched the Foundation Stone away, Torila immediately moved the witch spirits toward him.
Pamela attacked, but she was only able to fight with one spirit.
Nine witch spirits continued to charge at Chen Zhao.
Just then, a black shadow whooshed past.
The nine evil spirits were squeezed together into a ball without warning.
Everyone’s expressions froze. They gaped at Chen Zhao.
They didn’t know just how strong Chen Zhao was or how many other hidden cards he had.
He fought with the ox monster by himself while also taking care of nine ancient witch spirits.
He was practically undefeatable.
Chen Zhao’s black shadow couldn’t completely swallow up the ox man, but it could control his lower body to immobilize him.
The black shadow seemed to have a limit. It couldn’t swallow everything on land.
Chen Zhao didn’t want to drag it out either, because his mana was used up crazily with every second that the shadow lasted.
He moved behind the ox man. Everyone could guess Chen Zhao’s intention.
The ox man wanted to turn around too, but it was trapped.
Chen Zhao swung his sword with all his might.
The entire world was silent.
The ox man’s head rolled off of his shoulders and stopped moving.
Next, the black shadow spat out the ox man’s body.
Chen Zhao was exhausted, but he looked at the Grandfather, Hopkins, and Torila.
“Okay, let’s continue.”
The three had grave expressions. Chen Zhao’s strength impressed them but also terrified them.
They’d thought that the ox monster was undefeatable, but he’d died in Chen Zhao’s hands.
“President, we don’t have a great rivalry. How about we each take a step back…”
“Sure.” Chen Zhao took a step back.
“…”
“Not enough? I’ll give you two more steps for free.”
“…”
“You sure that you’ll win?” Hopkins clenched his teeth while staring at Chen Zhao.
“Yeah, that’s what I think. Unhappy?” Chen Zhao pulled the bronze sword out again. “Come, I’ll only use one hand.”
Suddenly, an ice bridge appeared behind the Grandfather, Hopkins, and Torila.
It extended from the tip of the pyramid all the way down.
The three jumped onto the bridge and slid down. Ruby was waiting for them at the bottom.
“President, stop them!”
