Pure Gold Sand Ores are extremely hard and can be used to create top-notch weapons. Unfortunately, it not only harbored a large number of impurities, but it was also extremely hard to harvest. If they were to be harvested by hand, it might take a thousand, or even ten thousand years, to gather the Pure Gold Sand Ores necessary to forge a longsword.
“Brother Yang Ling, you need not look at it anymore. After millennia of conflict, all of the Pure Gold Sand Ores that can be harvested has already been taken away. All that’s left behind are the impurities. You wouldn’t be able to refine it even if you managed to scoop some out!” Richardson shook his head.
Seeing Yang Ling examine the Pure Gold Sand in his hands closely, then staring deeply at the raging red river, Richardson did not have to think too much to know what Yang Ling was thinking about. Basically, anyone who has come to the Red River Valley for the first time would have thought about something like that. Back then, even he had thought that way when he had come here for the first time. He had only managed to scoop up a small cluster of Pure Gold Sand after toiling the entire day, not to mention that they were all filled with impurities and could not be refined. He had no choice but to give up.
“That’s right. Pure Gold Sand is extremely valuable in every large dimension. If there was still usable Pure Gold Sand in the Red River Valley, the area would have been packed full of people. How would we be able to stand here?” The black-robed elder Wilcox shook his head as he looked at the murky water.
He had been here with an elder from his tribe tens of thousands of years ago. Back then, he could still pick up a few Pure Gold Sand Ores on the beach of the Red River Valley from time to time. Unfortunately, the entire Red River Valley had been surrounded by the Angel Army of the City Amongst the Clouds, making it such that no one could enter. By the time the Great Twelve-winged Angels from the City Amongst the Clouds had left, there was nothing left on the beach.
“That’s not right. If all of the Pure Gold Sand has been picked clean, why is the water still so murky and filled with this many tiny Pure Gold Sand fragments?” Yang Ling shook his head in confusion.
“The source of the red river is the Great Livingston Mountain. The mountain is covered in snow all year round, and the water that flowed down from it is extremely clear, but…” The black-robed elder Wilcox stroked his white beard, pausing for a moment before continuing, “After the clear spring water gathers to form a spring and passes through the majestic Pure Gold Mountain, it would become this murky.”
“Then, is there any Pure Gold Sand Ores left in Pure Gold Mountain?” Yang Ling had a glimmer in his eyes.
“No, it has been gone for a long time. It’s just that there is inferior Pure Gold Sand mixed in within the soil, which are then flushed down by the waters of the river!” Wilcox shook his head, making Yang Ling, who had just seen a shred of hope disappointed once again.
“There’s no way we can make it to the Sunset Plains today. Forget it, let’s rest here for the night!” Looking at the murky water, then seeing the mountain ranges on the other coast, Richardson decided to set up camp here, prepared to rest for the night, and recover their energy before rushing off the next day.
The Sunset Plains contained the only Wandering Castle within the radius of several hundred miles, and they would be safe when they entered the castle. However, the journey between the Red River Valley and the Sunset Plains was arduous. Not only were there Abyssal Demons along the way, but there were also several powerful Divine-level Magical Beasts. If they were careless, the group might be torn to shreds by a violent High-level Divine Magical Beast before they landed in the hands of the many Abyssal Demons.
“You can set up camp here first. I’ll head upstream and have a look around the Pure Gold Mountain!” Rubbing on the hard Pure Gold Sand in his hands, Yang Ling felt indignant that he had to leave empty-handed. He led the Corpse Wizard King, Hydra, and the rest of the group in following the river upstream, prepared to have a closer inspection of the situation.
“Yang Ling, wait up, let’s go together!” After looking at the God of Swords Gerald, the Chief Elven Priest ordered her clansmen to set up camp, then joined the God of Swords in following behind Yang Ling.
Yang Ling was extremely powerful. His offensive capabilities were far stronger than what they had imagined. However, he was completely clueless about the situation in the Graveyard of Deities and Demons. The Chief Elven Priest did not feel safe letting him roam around the area like that. She was worried that he, being young and impetuous, might find himself in mortal danger if he was careless.
“Brother Yang Ling, wait up, I’ll lead the way!” After shaking his head, Richardson quickly followed Yang Ling and his group. However, rather than say that he was here to lead the way, he was more here in hopes of spending a little more time with the demoness.
Whoosh…
With Richardson leading the way, the group advanced following the riverbed, rushing toward the Pure Gold Mountain a thousand miles away with their fastest speed. After making a sharp turn, they soon disappeared from the wanderers’ line of sight.
“Young men are all like that, refusing to give up until they see it personally for themselves!” The black-robed elder Wilcox was overcome with emotion, shaking his head before instructing the group that had been left behind to set up camp quickly.
He had also been young once. He had also been in the stage of life where he had been rash, or even impulsive. Back then, when he had first come here together with his clansmen, he had also rushed upstream of the red river overnight to the Pure Gold Mountain to take a look, being indignant. Along the way, he had almost become the snack of a bunch of Divine-level Ground Dwelling Dragons.
A thousand miles was not far for Yang Ling and the group. They successfully arrived at the Pure Gold Mountain in just under two hours. Along the way, they had also slaughtered a group of insolent Flying Leopards, successfully obtaining the Essence Crystals of several Level Surpassing Magical Beasts.
Pure Gold Mountain was massive and had many peaks towering above the clouds. There was no sign of life anywhere, no trees or grass, forming a stark contrast with the lush mountains around it. Both the soil and rocks here were tinged with red, infused with many inferior Pure Gold Sand. The raging red river passed through the body of the mountain, continually brushing past against the mud from both sides, creating an immeasurably deep cave.
What entered the hole was clear spring water, while what came out was murky, mixed with a large amount of soil!
“It’s such a large mountain, is there really no Pure Gold Sand Ores left?” Seeing the magnificent Pure Gold Mountain, Yang Ling shook his head in disbelief. Sitting down cross-legged, he summoned a mass of Horned Bee Beasts and instructed them to scout the entire Pure Gold Mountain quickly.
Buzz…
Amidst Richardson’s shocked gaze, the horde of Horned Bee Beasts quickly split into a hundred large teams and spread out in all directions. They covered the entirety of the Pure Gold Mountain, not letting any corner go undetected, creating a search party.
“This… My God, where did this many Horned Bee Beasts come from?” Richardson was dumbfounded when he saw the mass of Horned Bee Beasts in the sky.
In the past, seeing that Yang Ling had summoned a team of Horned Bee Beasts to scout their surroundings, Richardson had thought that Yang Ling was a powerful Beast Tamer who had trained a batch of Horned Bee Beasts. To think that Yang Ling was able to summon millions of Horned Bee Beasts instantly. It was simply incredible how many of them there were!
Summoner?
Looking at Yang Ling, who was sitting cross-legged on the ground, Richardson shook his head. He had seen many powerful Summoners in the past, but he had never seen a person who could summon this many Magical Beasts. However, it did not seem like Yang Ling was a Beast Tamer either. Having roamed the dimensions for many years, he had never seen or heard of any Beast Tamer who had trained such a large bunch of Magical Beasts.
The Horned Bee Beasts were immensely fast and soon relayed back a huge amount of information. They had searched from the base of the mountain to its peak, not leaving behind any suspicious areas. Unfortunately, they did not find any Pure Gold Sand even after an hour’s worth of effort.
Could it be that the rest of the Pure Gold Sand are buried deep underground like oil?
Yang Ling knit his brows as he looked at the majestic, yet lifeless Pure Gold Mountain shimmering with a red light. Being able to cause the entire river to turn murky and red meant that there is a large number of Pure Gold Sand in the soil of the Pure Gold Mountain. It was highly possible that there is a giant mine of Pure Gold Sand deep underground, just that no one has been able to find it or dig it out.
He had many Magical Beasts in his army with immense brute force, but not many who could dig underground. After a moment’s deliberation, Yang Ling summoned a large bunch of spiders and Groundhogs, then instructed them to dig into the ground to see if they could find any Pure Gold Sand Ores. Unexpectedly, the ground was incredibly dense, getting packed tighter the further they dug. The Red-haired Tarantula could not make a dent in the soil, and even the Groundhogs that had sharp fangs could not accomplish much either. Even the immensely powerful Giant Ape King and Dark Dragon King were unable to create a deep hole after going at it in turns.
“Brother Yang Ling, it’s useless. The soil in Pure Gold Mountain is extremely hard, and even a High-level Deity cannot dig a deep well here. Even if there is a large number of Pure Gold Sand Ores buried deep under the ground, there is no way that anyone can dig them out, unless…” Richardson shook his head, knowing that Yang Ling was just wasting his efforts. If the soil on the Pure Gold Mountain was soft, it would have long been leveled by the people. Yang Ling would not even have the chance to try that approach here today if that was the case.
“Unless what?” Yang Ling stood up, seeing a glimmer of hope.
“If you could turn into the terrifying Demonic Vines growing in the culvert, you might be able to detect if there are Pure Gold Sand Ores deep under the ground or not and dig them up. Unfortunately, that’s impossible!” Richardson’s scalp would still crawl whenever he thought about the terrifying Demonic Vines in the culvert.
Back then, he had once been curious about the culvert the red river was flowing through and had been prepared to head in to see if there were any Pure Gold Sand there. Unexpectedly, he had not even approached the culvert when he got attacked by a few Demonic Vines, the heavy armor he had been wearing back then crumbling instantly. If not for the help he got from an elder from his family, he might have been dragged into the culvert and turned into fertilizer for the Demonic Vines.
Richardson did not know if there were any Pure Gold Sand in the culvert or not, but he was clear that the Demonic Vines in the culvert were extremely dangerous. Even a High-level Deity at the peak of his strength would not be able to barge in easily. The large pile of bleached bones near the culvert was the best proof of that.
Demonic Vines?
Looking at the river flowing through the body of the mountain and seeing the immeasurably deep culvert, Yang Ling had a thought. He instructed a team of Horned Bee Beasts to fly over to scout the situation. Unexpectedly, the Horned Bee Beasts had just approached the opening of the hole when a large wave of vines suddenly appeared, swatting down the speedy Horned Bee Beasts as if they were tentacles of an octopus. They then coiled tightly around the Horned Bee Beasts and swiftly dragged them into the sinister-looking culvert.
