Rise of Humanity Chapter 247

Chapter 246

Chapter 246 – Larger, Larger, Larger!

Lang Qingyun and Xiao Chuyun turned to look at the spirit of the monster god standing up high in the city’s center… and they both sat down and continued drinking their tea. Gu Hongzi was the commander of the border province of the monster race, which meant that even if he could be taken down by Lang Qingyun and Xiao Chuyun working together, they dared not do it because of the spirit of the monster god.

With the spirit of the monster god at his disposal, Gu Hongzi had a killing machine under him which prevented the two of them from acting hostilely!

The spirit of the monster god was the totem spirit of Gu Xia City, and after being worshipped and prayed to by the many monsters and lords of Gu Xia City throughout all these years, the totem spirit had become the strongest existence in all of Gu Xia City!

If I teamed up with senior Chuyun and attacked Gu Hongzi with the element of surprise, killing all of the monsters in the city with the lethal roar of the 【Celestial Moon Howling Art】, we might disable the spirit of the monster god and cause it to enter its slumber.

Lang Qingyun’s face remained normal as he thought, Although the plan is good, the success rate is too low as Gu Hongzi is now wary of us. He thinks that I am working with the Xiao Mang Celestial Race. However, what he said was true; if one of us leaves, the other will die, and if both of us leave, we will face the wrath of him and the spirit of the monster god!

Thus, the both of them remained in Gu Xia City in hopes of keeping Gu Gongzi and his spirit of the monster god busy so that he could not leave the city to help Zhong Yue. Besides, they would both die if they left the city together.

Therefore, it was best for them to remain in the city.

What happened at the borderland of Gu Xia City?

Lang Qingyun and Xiao Chuyun were curious as to what happened. Judging from the reaction of Gu Hongzi, things seemed to be odd for the strong pursuers sent by the Xiao Mang Celestial race and the lotus white serpent chasing after Zhong Yue.

In the East Barren, there were many strong Qi Practitioners from the serpent race, but they were all well-known individuals, like the second disciple of Shi Buyi, Chi Liannu, whose strength was basically on a par with the elder-classed individuals.

However, neither of them recognized or had come across this lotus serpent before this.

Could this serpent be sent by Shi Buyi?

Lang Qingyun’s heart thumped as he thought, Shi Buyi has poured in huge efforts to manage his power; suppressing the three islands, six cities, and four keeps; gathering a huge amount of elder classed existences; and greatly increasing the power of his faction. With that said, it is not surprising at all if this lotus serpent was sent by him to protect Long Yue, but why….

Little did he know that the lotus serpent was not someone sent by Shi Buyi, but no other than his fourth junior martial sister, Lian Xin, and never would he have thought that Lian Xin had devoured Chi Liannu and now planned to eat Zhong Yue so she could evolve into a Jiao Dragon.

Not only that, he would never know that the only reason Lian Xin fought with the Xiao Mang Celestial Race’s pursuers was because she wanted to eat Zhong Yue, while the pursuers wanted him alive.

As much as the two of them wanted to know the situation of the battle happening in the border, they could not do anything as Gu Hongzi had used the power of the spirit of monster god to seal the area around the city. If they tried to take a look at the battle, they would most definitely collide with the power of the spirit of monster god.

And if the spirit of monster god or Gu Hongzi thought that they were about to do something bad, then a battle would definitely occur!

What actually happened at the border?

The mountains at the border of Gu Xia City were shattered into pieces by the battle of the two Heavenly Dharma level Qi Practitioners. Their attacks leveled the entire mountainous area. The Xiao Mang Celesital Race’s Qi Practitioner was an incredibly strong Heavenly Dharma level Qi Practitioner, and this old man was most definitely a Qi Practitioner that had been dwelling in the Heavenly Dharma level for at least hundred years. His first soul weapon was a lunar chakram that was so strong that it could cut Lian Xin easily, and his other soul weapon was that river called the Wuyang River, which was a celestial river in the West Barren. Once there were some celestial races that stayed in the river, but those celestial races had long gone extinct, and so the river was cultivated into a soul weapon.

With the immense power of Wuyang River, be it the strong water currents or the weight, one would definitely suffer heavy injuries even if the attack of the river brushed past the person!

What made the Wuyang River even more scary was the forever changing pattern of the river. Water had no permanent shape, and with that flexibility, as long as one mastered various skills and techniques, they could use this Wuyang River to cast them and even shift the form of the river to fit the environment!

The two soul weapons were incredibly powerful, and under the control of the Heavenly Dharma level old man, their powers were unleashed to the fullest, making his attacks extremely intimidating!

However, his opponent was Lian Xin, one of the strongest young generation Qi Practitioners, a talented monster that was hand-picked by the strongest existence in the East Barren, Shi Buyi!

Lian Xin was a deviant lotus serpent that possessed extremely dangerous poison, and her strength was far beyond than those of her age. She even ate her own senior martial sister, Chi Liannu, to increase her strength!

Just imagine the power of Lian Xin possessed right now, after she had converted Chi Liannu’s power to her own after Chi Liannu recently siphoned away the power of a Heavenly Dharma level Jiao Dragon!

The only reason why she was unable to gain the upper hand even when she was stronger than the Xiao Mang Celestial Race’s old man was that after devouring Chi Liannu, she had difficulty moving, thus slightly decreasing her overall strength.

With that, their strength was on equal terms, resulting them to engage in a fierce battle.

In close-quarters combat, Lian Xin’s double split serpent pike was a very sharp and strong weapon, and it was also a very efficient soul weapon in ranged combat. Other than that, this girl had more than just one soul weapon; she had forged her shedded skin into whips that were just like another lotus serpent when she swung them around.

Some were also crafted into poison sacks that kept on emitting a poison mist that was incredibly hard to deal with, poisoning the Heavenly Dharma level old man, forcing him to spare extra power and attention to suppress the poison.

Her poison was so deadly that it could not only damage the nerves, muscles, and blood, but also the soul, spirit and even the psyche!

Lian Xin’s poison was so toxic that even Chi Liannu could not withstand it after Lian Xin bit her, rendering her unable to do anything but be devoured by Lian Xin powerlessly.

The Heavenly Dharma old man had only managed to resist the poison for so long because he was a celestial race, which granted him high poison resistance. However, he was still struggling to resist the deadly poison.

The two fought ferociously and displayed their prowess as Heavenly Dharma level Qi Practitioners; they constantly changed back and forth between their true forms, and even used their avatars to fight each other!

Then, they reverted back to human size, clashing with each other as they summoned their Yuan Shen, casting all kinds of skills, creating fissures in the ground as they stomped the ground, leveling mountains, calling the lava underground, raising their hands as they summoned meteors that shot right at each other! They were like the harbingers of doom, bringing destruction, turning the area into an apocalypse!

As they battled, they started to to injure themselves, and their injuries became more and more serious!

Even so, they continued to fight with their lives, both trying to kill their opponent before they completely exhausted themselves!

Although the duration of the battle was not very long, only two hours or so, the two of them were completely exhausted, and their injuries were just unbearable to look at. Lian Xin was no longer able to maintain her delicate and elegant appearance, as injuries were all over her body and she had almost had her heart pierced through. The Heavenly Dharma old man had lost two of his heads, and his fur, along with his dragon scales, were all severely damaged. There was not even a single spot that remained untouched.

Finally, the Heavenly Dharma old man could no longer spare any energy to suppress Lian Xin’s poison. He died as soon as the poison entered his remaining head after it ran wild all through his body.

He finally died….

Lian Xin coughed out some black blood while struggling to walk towards the old man. Reaching him, she raised up her serpent pike and impaled the head of the old man.

With that, the old man died completely as his body was corroded by the poison. His Yuan Shen dispersed while all sorts of soul weapons and other items scattered all over the ground.

His Wuyang River then dropped onto the ground, forming a huge river immediately, while the lunar chakram fell down from the sky and caused the ground around it to sink!

This old man has quite a generous amount of precious items….

The panting Lian Xin felt happy, even as blood gushed out from her injuries as she could no longer suppress them. She quickly took out and applied some herbs onto her injuries as she tried to minimize the damage.

After half an hour or so, she finally managed to stop the injuries from deteriorating.

Now you’re mine, junior martial brother Long Yue….

She struggled to get up, but when she walked towards Zhong Yue, she saw a ten foot-plus long Xiang Dragon lying in a huge hole created by the fight, its blood filling up part of the hole. The Xiang Dragon’s chest was not moving at all, injuries were all over its body and parts of its body were even starting to rot!

This Xiang Dragon was obviously dead, as its body had long turned cold.

In the huge hole, soul weapons, spirit herbs and other precious items were scattered everywhere. The Fang Blade was half-buried in the ground, as after the Xiang Dragon died, its Yuan Shen dispersed, causing everything it kept in its Yuan Shen Secret Realm to drop out.

Are you really dead?

Lian Xin smirked as she stabbed into the chest of the Xiang Dragon and pierced its heart with her serpent pike. As the body of the Xiang Dragon lay there without moving at all, Lian Xin used her serpent pike and slammed the Fang Blade, sending it flying into the walls of the hole.

“Seems like you are really dead. Junior martial brother, you have a lower cultivation base and it is easier to digest you. I will first eat you and digest you before I slowly digest senior martial sister Chi Lian.”

Lian Xin then put down her guard as she relaxed herself and turned into the lotus serpent before she bit that Xiang Dragon.

As her huge jaws were about to devour the Xiang Dragon, the body of the Xiang Dragon shrank and turned into a human before a strong godly aura surged into the skies, while a sword ray pierced her head!

It was a feather in gold that looked like a huge golden sword! The aura around the sword then started to destroy Lian Xin’s body and suppressed her Yuan Shen!

“Larger, larger, larger!”

From her huge mouth, an angry cry could be heard as the feather-shaped sword enlarged rapidly and turned into a three thousand-foot tall sword!

Then, the man in Lian Xin’s mouth started to run, thrusting the huge sword before him as he ran deeper and deeper into the body of Lian Xin!

Lian Xin then stopped moving for a moment, before her huge body suddenly split in half and fell apart!

This was a time where twilight had descended on the reign of the Human Sovereign and the Five Emperors had yet to emerge – humanity was merely one of the myriad races wandering about the vast cosmos. This was not the era of the Foreworld, but the barbaric and untamed era of uncivilization! Let us rewind back to China’s ancient and classical mythology and recount the legendary tale of how a single figure led humanity out of an epoch of darkness and into a new dawn.
