Chapter 300: I Saw Lin Yi’s President Wei Waiting Downstairs, Wonder Who He’s Waiting For
Xu Moyan held the cup in both hands, crossing her legs as well. “Well, since you just started dating today, I’ll forgive you for daydreaming in front of me.”
Zheng Yuntong’s expression was filled with sweet love as she leaned back onto the couch. She tilted her head and rested it over, saying, “It really… really is wonderful.”
“You haven’t told me about what happened at noon,” Xu Moyan reminded her. “I called you, but I didn’t get to hear it in full. What’s up with that Guan Zexi? Did Shen Zongyi decide to confess to you because Guan Zexi provoked him in the southern city?”
Blushing, Zheng Yuntong explained everything to Xu Moyan. “Actually, I asked him that earlier tonight, too.”
“What did Shen Zongyi say?” Xu Moyan was not particularly bothered, though. There was no need for her to dwell too long on this subject. She was just a little curious about it, but it would not affect her good impression of Shen Zongyi as a person.
Shen Zongyi’s reply had been to pin Zheng Yuntong against the car window and kiss her fiercely.
While Zheng Yuntong was still shaken and her mind blank, Shen Zongyi finally said, “The incident with Guan Zexi was a shot in my arm, yeah. That was when I noticed that there were actually plenty of people aiming for you, silly girl, and I couldn’t stay by your side all the time. What if someone else tricked you and lured you away while I wasn’t looking?”
Back then, Zheng Yuntong could only pant as she instinctively retorted, “I’m not silly.”
“Yeah, you’re not, and that’s why you rejected Guan Zexi. I’m glad for that. But that also told me that if I didn’t make my feelings clear to you, you might never realize them on your own. In the beginning, I wasn’t very confident either, and I was scared you’d reject me. It’s cuz you always seem so scared of me, and you’re always nervous around me. I want to dispel your nervousness and close the distance between us, slowly making my way into your heart. But the situation wasn’t going according to plan, and it might be too late if I stick to my original plan. That’s why I had to speed things up a little.” Shen Zongyi still had her pinned against the car window at the time, and he was extremely close to her. Even as he spoke, his breath would brush her lips.
As a result, Zheng Yuntong’s lips shuddered, and she was beside herself with nerves. Right now, she would not protest to anything Shen Zongyi said.
“I changed my plans because I was worried you’d be taken away,” Shen Zongyi said in a low voice as the pitch-black night surrounded them outside the car. His words were like a hot spring in the deep night, flowing into Zheng Yuntong’s heart and warming her up.
Zheng Yuntong hugged Shen Zongyi without even thinking, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck and burying her face in the crook of his neck. Taking in his refreshing scent, she felt her heart fill up with everything about him.
…
After she finished chatting with Zheng Yuntong, Xu Moyan returned to her own room. It was late, and she should usually be asleep by now, because she had to wake up early to go to work the next day.
Presently, she was lying in her bed, but she could not fall asleep. All she could think of was her call with Wei Zilin earlier. Only then did it occur to her: He was coming to her house tomorrow, right?
She took out her phone and turned on her WeChat, but Wei Zilin had not sent her any new messages. She turned off WeChat and logged in to Weibo instead. Wei Zilin’s Weibo still only had that same post from before, but there were a lot more comments and shares now.
She did not check the comments again, going back to her wall instead and posting, “My roommate didn’t come back for dinner today because she’s dating now. She probs won’t come back home to eat from now on, so now I’m all alone. When she came back tonight, she even blinded this poor old single dog with her radiance. O(≧口≦)o”
Once she posted that, she scrolled down her Weibo, checking out some interesting news articles, videos, and gifs.
After spending quite some time on these, she went back to her comments and shares notification, and saw that her post had garnered quite a number of comments.
“Momo, you’re such a great cook! How can you still be single? As a single dog myself, I suddenly feel much better. I wonder why? [doge]”
“What’s happening lately? Do all the hotshots suddenly have love on their minds?”
“My Adonis likes women who are good in the kitchen as well. Rather than having him hook up with some woman I don’t know, I’d rather he go to you. If my guy and girl crushes end up together, that’d be the ultimate happy family~~”
“Re: the commenters that I saw, are y’all fans of Yu Linling too? What a coincidence, I’m his fan too! To be honest, it’d be really cool if our goddess ended up with Yu Linling. But well, y’all are from two different circles, so you probably don’t know each other. ╮(╯▽╰)╭”
“Aaaah, my god and goddess are both asking for a partner tonight! Are you sure you guys didn’t coordinate this?”
“Tbh, if it wasn’t for the fact that you’re from two very different circles, and I can’t see how someone from the online dubbing community would run into someone from the gourmet scene, plus both of you are especially low profile (like, Yu Linling is even lower profile than you, goddess), I’d really think the two of you coordinated that.”
“That’s right! Is anyone sadder than a Yu Linling fan? He vanished for six years after dubbing one series, and just when he finally appeared this year, even starting a Weibo account, he turns out to be a downright zombie! He only ever promotes Massacre OL, but he never posts anything else. And nowww he finally posted a few more things on Weibo, and they’re all about how he wants a girlfriend?? What about all of us fans who call him our husband? Can you imagine how we feel? I don’t even know if I should laugh or cry.”
“I posted a comment on Yu Linling’s page introducing you, goddess. Since he likes girls who can cook, you’re perfect for him, goddess.”
“Good idea, I’ll do that too.”
These enthusiastic comments gave Xu Moyan quite the shock. She just wanted to tease Zheng Yuntong, who was now passionately in love. She knew Zheng Yuntong could see the post, and she knew that Zheng Yuntong would know she was talking about her. What she did not expect was for the topic to somehow wander to Yu Linling instead.
Just as the fans said in their comments, at least on the surface, a food vlogger like her should have absolutely nothing to do with Yu Linling, a voice actor!
They went from talking about how their idols wanted partners to discussing how the two circles matched up.
In the end, her passionate fans actually decided to matchmake them directly, introducing her to Yu Linling!
That just showed that the imagination of her fans had no limits. Were their minds caverns of wonders and their eyes bright windows into a world of dreams?
Still, although Wei Zilin did not know that she knew he was Yu Linling, he did know about her Silent Words account!
When he saw that their fans were playing matchmaker and somehow matched him with someone he knew in real life, he must feel extremely awkward!
How would Wei Zilin feel about this? Nervously, Xu Moyan went into Wei Zilin’s Weibo and saw that a large group of her fans had actually done what they said they would.
“Yu Linling, my liege, my goddess Silent Words is sweet and a wonderful cook. She meets all of your requirements, so I highly recommend her!”
Many fans copied and pasted those exact lines, resulting in a neat barrage of identical comments.
Someone even said, “My liege, I recommend the owner of a food channel, Silent Words. She’s really an amazing cook! ( o )/”
“My liege, Silent Words was also complaining that her roommate was breaking her heart as a single dog. Since you’re single too, why don’t the two of you make do?”
Xu Moyan, “…”
What did they mean by… make do?
Someone even said, “Adonis, this is my goddess’ Weibo. →_→ here’s the link.”
Xu Moyan was exasperated at her adorable fans’ actions. She had no idea what Wei Zilin was going to think, and her heart pounded as she put down her phone, making up her mind to just close her eyes and sleep.
She did not dare to delete her Weibo post either, because that would only make her seem suspicious.
The next day, while she was on the way to work, she took out her phone to check. Wei Zilin had not replied.
As she expected, Wei Zilin merely considered it a joke and did not take it seriously.
The thought that Wei Zilin would pick her up at night weighed on her mind, and so Xu Moyan was somewhat out of it the whole day. At the same time, she was worried she would have to stay for overtime.
She finally had a chance to interact with Wei Zilin, and she did not want to waste that opportunity.
Thankfully, she did not have to work overtime today.
Even when she was packing up her things and getting ready to leave, Xu Moyan was still nervous, wondering if Wei Zilin was already here.
Just then, she received a call from Wei Zilin. When Xu Moyan saw his name appear on the screen, she immediately grew anxious and instinctively held her breath. Her heart was pounding so loudly it was practically audible.
After holding it in for a long time, Xu Moyan finally opened her mouth and breathed heavily, regaining her breath before she picked up Wei Zilin’s call. She was about to say something when a female colleague of hers returned from a trip to the mart downstairs.
Running into the office, she said with eyes shining excitedly, “I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it! I saw Lin Yi’s President Wei waiting downstairs, wonder who he’s waiting for?”
Another female colleague sounded incredulous. “President Wei? That really young and really handsome President Wei from Lin Yi?”
“That’s the one! What other President Wei does Lin Yi have?” The female colleague’s voice was extremely loud from sheer excitement, and it even shook as she pointed out the window, “It’s true, he’s standing right downstairs! Go look.”
Every single female colleague in the office went mad, running straight to the window for a look.
The office was on a higher floor, so they could not see the people downstairs very clearly.
There were many men dressed in suits and leather shoes walking up and down the road. From this height, they could not see their faces properly, and they could not tell their ages either.
