Chapter 451: Boundless
Translator: Radiant Editor: Radiant
Only two of the original two hundred fifty spherical cages suspended in the air now remained. The ones inside them were Jiu She and Xue Ying, who were both still fighting.
The man dressed in white robes and who had white hair and brows, Jiu She, still put on a graceful show.
His numerous clones filled the cage, each of them furiously waving their hands over to hack and injure the mutated beasts. It was only now that he finally needed a full breath’s worth of time to kill just one mutated beast.
“Mn?” He turned to look a certain spot in the distance, only to see the other spherical cage where Xue Ying was still fighting.
This Dong Bo…despite his short cultivation time so far, he reached such a high level in both the Mirage Deity Heart and the Star Deity Heart. Is he not aware that he should be focusing on a single aspect to become a World Deity and only then branch off to other areas? Perhaps he’s never received any guidance so far, instead cultivating only by himself, Jiu She thought to himself.
I originally thought this one secret skill would be enough to net me the number one spot in the survival battle. Not for a moment did I consider Dong Bo would have the skill to leave us in a stalemate. It seems like I have to show my real strength. I was planning on keeping this hidden and only unleash it before His Majesty and other powerful existences, but I must assure the first place in this battle. Unless I leave this stage with the first rank, it’d be nothing more than a joke to wish for a powerful existence to take me as a disciple, Jiu She inwardly considered.
Hong~
The numerous visages of Jiu She scattered all throughout the spherical cage moved their arms all at once. Their countless palm shadows quickly converged into a huge golden palm, so large that it occupied half of the entire cage as it descended.
Pu.
Everything in the path of this attack was destroyed in its entirety; anything it touched perished, and even the scales of the mutated beast were scattered without effort.
“What!”
“How could it be possible!”
The White Sand City Lord, the emissary from the Bloodshed God Palace, the Venomous Ying World Deity, the Ink Cloud City Lord, Marshal Qin, and King Rong Hai, as well as the spectators such as the Xia Clan Deities and Jing Qiu, were all startled at the sight of this palm and what it brought in its wake.
By this point of the survival battle, just how strong would the mutated beasts that the cage produced even be?
Drunk Guest had a very hard time killing just one of them.
And it took the coordination of four Xue Yings launching several attacks to kill them.
Yet…Jiu She did so in one attack?
“Boundless Deity Heart?” The White Sand City Lord, the emissary, and all the others up on the platform glanced at one another.
“Jiu She has grasped the Boundless Deity Heart?” Marshal Qin exclaimed. “That’s the grade one Boundless Deity Heart. This guy’s pretty smart. He’s grasped a grade one Deity Heart, but he waited until now to show it.”
“Perhaps he made a breakthrough during the battle?” King Rong Hai laughed.
“What coincidence would that be for him to have made a breakthrough during this very battle.” The Black Ink City Lord smiled. “It’s much more like that Jiu She grasped Boundless Deity Heart long ago but decided to keep it hidden. He’s not that bad, seeing how he managed to condense a Boundless Deity Heart after cultivating for roughly six million years. Brother White Sand, it looks like Jiu She will be first, and Dong Bo will finish second. You won’t be profiting off our Deity crystals again.”
The emissary, Marshall Qin, and the others all laughed.
With Xue Ying ranking second, they wouldn’t win anything, but they wouldn’t have to pay anything either. They still find it to be a good conclusion, seeing how they thought they would have to hand over ten million Deity crystals. At least it ended up as a draw.
The Venomous Ying World Deity was the only one keeping her mouth shut.
She was the only loser in this bet.
“It’s no big deal. I’m still earning a bit off of Venomous Ying,” the White Sand City Lord purposely replied.
“Hmph.” She simply sneered in response.
“It’s hard to believe that our Calm Sea Prefecture actually gave rise to a participant with a grade one Deity Heart. Generally speaking, it’s very rare to see a participant with a grade one Deity Heart during the Myriad Flower Feast. How unexpected that, of the Bloodshed God Palace’s nineteen prefectures, such a Deity would emerge in my Calm Sea Prefecture.”
“True.”
“With his Boundless Deity Heart, Jiu She might even rank amongst the top ten during this time’s Myriad Flower Feast.” The people on the platform agreed amongst themselves.
There had been some occasions in the past of people with grade one Deity Heart participating in the Bloodshed God Palace Myriad Flower Feast, which sparked some arguments at first. One side sought to prohibit people like them from participating in the event, while the other side voiced concerns over how such a prohibition would be unfair. What if some participant had a breakthrough during the course of the event? Would they also have to be disqualified? That would be nonsense! On top of that, who could really say if that person really made their breakthrough during the event, or was just hiding it from long before?
In the end, His Majesty stepped out and made a decree: Any participant must have cultivated for no more than eleven million years and must be a Deity. It does not matter if they have a grade one Deity Heart. Everyone gets an equal opportunity to participate.
Truth was that…it really was that difficult to grasp hold of a grade one Deity Heart.
Deities would usually only break through to become World Deities after cultivating for more than a hundred million years. The Sorcerer God, for instance, had still needed a few of million years of cultivation before he became a World Deity, in spite of his great talent. The majority of World Deities would spend hundreds upon hundreds of millions of years as Deities before getting any chance at a breakthrough. With how difficult the process was, it was easy to tell that even the small number of World Deities found throughout a starfield had actually accumulated over long eras.
As for those who could condense a grade one Deity Heart in less than eleven million years of cultivation…to speak nothing of the territory controlled by the Bloodshed God Palace, even throughout the whole Deity World, no more than ten would spawn in the period between each Myriad Flower Feast. Moreover, those who showed decent talent would have already become disciples under powerful existences, or they would belong to the Temporal Island or the Myriad God Palace. Most would see no need to participate in this selection.
After all, any participant in the Myriad Flower Feast Selections would be henceforth counted as a member of the Bloodshed God Palace and be granted a tenth rank at the least!
Which meant that anyone who refused to join the Bloodshed God Palace would not participate. In turn, however, they would also lose eligibility to enjoy a Myriad Flower True Fruit.
All of these facts considered, every Myriad Flower Feast would only see a paltry number of grade one Deity Heart participants.
“These six still lack some vision, seeing how they’ve only now realized that Jiu She has a Boundless Deity Heart,” Monarch Mo Xue said as he looked at White Sand and the others.
The Calm Sea Prefecture Lord joined in, “That secret skill which Jiu She used before, the one which could conjure numerous clones, contained a few Profound Mysteries of the Boundless Deity Heart, though they weren’t easy to discern.”
Both Monarch Mo Xue and the Calm Sea Prefecture Lord found out about Jiu She’s Boundless Deity Heart from the very beginning of the arena battle, when Jiu She used his secret skill to conjure numerous clones. That skill he displayed contained a very small trace of Profound Mysteries belonging to the Boundless Deity Heart!
Jiu She was not afraid to expose his Deity Heart, and he was also very eager to get the first place in the battle, which together brought him to the decision to use his hidden secret skill. That secret skill of his contained some traces of the Boundless Deity Heart, but he was confident that no one could detect them.
In the end, he was still forced by Xue Ying to used his trump card. Brought to this point, he no longer bothered concealing anything. He revealed his true strength straightaway.
“You can’t blame them for that,” the Calm Sea Prefecture Lord chastised. “The Boundless Deity Heart is rarely seen even amongst the known grade one Deity Hearts. Of White Sand and others, none has a Boundless Deity Heart. On top of that, his secret skill from before did not explicitly put it on display, so it’s normal that they wouldn’t find out about it.”
“Mn.” Monarch Mo Xue nodded in agreement.
Of the grade one Deity Hearts, the more commonly seen in the Deity World were those like the Time Space Deity Heart, the Splitting Heavens Deity Heart, the Chaotic Deity Heart, or the World Deity Heart. The Boundless Deity Heart was much rarer by comparison. It only appeared about as often as the Mirage Deity Heart was seen amongst grade two Deity Hearts.
The Boundless Deity Heart was so rarely seen because it represented a special essence of the universe. Even World Deities were hard-pressed to comprehend this aspect. Stage four World Deity might begin to touch upon it, but they could only roughly understand it, with no guarantee of complete comprehension. As stage four World Deity themselves, the Calm Sea Prefecture Lord and Monarch Mo Xue could easily recognize it.
Jiu She had only managed to comprehend this Deity Heart due to a chance encounter. Upon cultivating in a certain place for many years, he suddenly discovered the what it meant to be ‘boundless.’ He then moved on to cultivate for many, many years before finally condensing the Boundless Deity Heart. This Deity Heart was not only very rare, but also quite unique and peculiar.
******
Formidable. Xue Ying looked toward the other distant sphere where Jiu She’s figure could be seen fighting, his countless slaps condensing into a golden palm so powerful even he was amazed. Unless I show my own grade one Deity Heart, there’s no way for me to take first place. It’s one thing for him to have a grade one Deity Heart, after having cultivated for six million years, but with my having only cultivated for two thousand years… if I were to put my grade one Deity Heart on display, those powerful existences will likely find out immediately, Xue Ying silently thought. Forget it. Brother White Sand told me that second place would be a good enough result, and that only if I would finish third or below would he lose greatly.
He then immediately said, “I admit defeat.”
Xue Ying could have prolonged the fight further, but he saw no need to do so.
Hua~
He was summarily expelled.
From his position in mid-air, Xue Ying looked toward the distant sphere where numerous visages of Jiu She were still fighting, and he was secretly shocked. Boundless? Is that the grade one Boundless Deity Heart? No wonder I couldn’t even tell his true body apart from his countless clones. It could be said that all of them are fake bodies, but also that all of them are the real body.
Those millions upon millions of bodies could be considered all fake, or one could be said to be real with the rest being fakes, or even that all of them were his real body.
Even the Chaotic Deity Heart or the Extremity Deity Heart, which were considered incredibly powerful, would see some difficulty in dealing with the Boundless Deity Heart. Its power was so sinister that ordinary enemies would never even get the chance to touch any person who condensed one. Xue Ying, however, grasped the World Deity Heart—which was famed for its domain abilities; within his domain, his power would be akin to a Realm Lord’s in his territory. It could also place down an area of world suppression, which was similar to the suppression the Material World could place upon someone. This ability was a natural and perfect counter to the Boundless Deity Heart.
“I admit defeat.” As soon as Xue Ying admitted his defeat, Jiu She’s numerous clones scattered, leaving only a single body behind. This figure was dressed in white, with even his hair being white. When he glanced toward Xue Ying indifferently, there was even a trace of haughtiness in his eyes. The way he saw it, his grade one Deity Heart would allow him to have an easy time throughout the rest of the Myriad Flower Feast, and it was only normal for him to be ranked first within the Calm Sea Prefecture. As for Xue Ying? Jiu She saw some great potential in him, but when it came to his current strength? It was still lacking—much lower than his.
“Grade one Deity Heart?
“This Jiu She individual has a grade one Deity Heart?”
“He’s this powerful?”
“It’s nothing strange that Dong Bo would lose to him. They are simply on two different levels of comprehension.”
Most of the spectators were stunned.
Jiu She was soon expelled from the sphere. The corners of his mouth were curled up into a smile, while his eyes swept all over the spectators.
By that point, Xue Ying had already landed and was now back in his original spot.
“Brother Dong Bo, nobody could have known that Jiu She has grasped a grade one Deity Heart. There’s no way to win over him,” Seventh Mei Yu consoled him from nearby.
“Yeah, no way to win,” he nonchalantly replied.
Very soon, the Bloodshed God Palace emissary announced, “The Calm Sea Prefecture Selection for the Myriad Flower Feast has been concluded. The top one hundred participants from this prefecture have been selected, and they will proceed on to the Bloodshed God Palace three years from now.”
