“Charge! Charge!! Charge!!!”
The explosion signaled the start as war drums resounded throughout the field and soldiers charged in. They chanted war songs as they charged through the battlefield.
“Charge! Warriors of the Empire! We will deal out retribution to those infidels who have attacked our beloved nation!”
War horns sounded and the soldiers started to dash.
“Be careful! They’re coming!”
Gunfire was heard everywhere, but it was futile. Snipers quickly picked off the shooters on the walls and soldiers easily moved into the fortress.
“Be careful! Do not let enemies close in on you! Kill them on the spot if they refuse to surrender!”
“Yes, sir!”
The soldiers of the Empire began to scour through the fortress to ferret out any remaining enemies.
“Here! I found an enemy officer!”
“Ugh! I am Count Gl…”
“Shut up! If you don’t listen, I will shoot to kill!”
“Y-you…!”
Count Gloman frowned but fell silent.
-To all remaining troops of the Dentrion Kingdom. We, the Khalodian Empire, have reclaimed our fortress. If you surrender, we will ensure your safety and humane treatment. However, if you resist, we will shoot to kill on sight. Surrender now. If we begin our search, we will not accept surrender and will kill on sight.
And with the announcement, enemy soldiers began to appear from all places throughout the fortresses. However, most of them were noble-born.
‘These rats.’
Most of the commoner soldiers seemed to have been killed by the explosions.
“All of you, we have to find Captain Rex! Search the area! Find the pigpen!”
The Empire’s soldiers then began searching and found the remains of a pigpen. When they uncovered the ground from pig feces and dirt, they found a door.
When they opened it up, a ladder was revealed that allowed them to climb down. At the bottom of the ladder, there was a gate which led to the room.
“Captain Rex, sir! Corporal Jon reporting!”
“Yes. What is the situation?”
“We have reclaimed the fortress. Most Dentrion forces are either dead or have surrendered and…”
Rex left the underground hideout and went to meet with Field Marshall Henderson.
“Lieutenant Rex, you have done well. I know it must have been hard to push that button that killed so many, but it is for the sake of our empire. Without your work, the blood of our brothers would have been spilled instead.”
“Yes, sir. I am fine, thank you. What’s the situation now, sir?”
“We took care of this place. They should have found out what happened by now.”
“Then they will be coming,” Rex answered and Henderson nodded.
“They will send scouts.”
“Then we will need snipers.”
And it was Lieutenant Eren who answered.
“We already sent snipers from the Ainos Guard.”
