Dons was already thinking of ways to run away and send for reinforcements.
The way Sheyan effortlessly dealt with his own attack made one thing very clear to Dons – his opponent had been hiding his strength, and his real strength was terrifying. He was like an iceberg floating in the sea. The part floating above the water may seem tiny, but the part submerged underwater was so gigantic that it was immeasurable!
Then, Dons saw the weapon that was glowing blood red.
He started estimating if his HP could take it. Anyone who could live up to this point would surely have this extent of insight. From his assessment, he was sure that weapon was highly destructive, but after the attack, he should be able to move again. He would immediately go into stealth, sprint away, and send a request for help. As long as he could hang on for 10 seconds, his companions nearby would get here to help, and the others would keep on coming. They would attack the opponent like a pack of wolves attacking a lion. No matter how powerful this guy was, he would surely fall.
Dons started falling from the air. Then, just as he predicted, the sword cut into his right thigh. The sharp edge of the sword easily severed the tendons and blood vessels in the thigh, causing a serious injury to him. The attack was truly destructive, but it was within the scope of what Dons had predicted.
Upon landing, Dons immediately rolled away out of instinct. Even though he would aggravate the leg injury by doing so, he was going to use the honorary dosage immediately afterwards to restore himself to max HP anyway, so it did not matter.
However, what happened after that deviated from Dons’ script!
After using the honorary dosage, he got up confidently and activated a speed boosting skill to dash away. But the moment he took a step forward, he instantly found that he could not exert any force with his right foot at all. He ended up falling heavily to his right.
But he was even more alarmed to find that his HP was hovering on the danger line without any signs of recovering at all! The honorary dosage did nothing!
A chill crept down his spine. He felt like he was in a nightmare. But luckily, he had enough wits left to instantly think of checking his battle log. What he saw there was cruel and merciless.
“Your right thigh is under the effect of ‘Extinction’.”
“Your body will be regarded as being in an un-digitalised state. Any Nightmare Realm medicine will not work on you. The injury caused by ‘Extinction’ can only be healed through conventional medical means, and will recover at the healing speed of a normal human. If you lose any part of your body, it cannot be restored by the Realm or any medicine before the power of Extinction on the wound has dissipated.”
When Dons read this, he immediately recalled a legend he heard a long time ago.
“The power…. of Extinction’??!! This sword is Evil Sword Apophis??!!”
“Evil…Sword…Apophis??!!”
No one answered him. The last thing he saw was another blood-red glimmer of the sword’s swing. After that, he fell into complete darkness.

Dons’ death gave Sheyan three achievement points, and his big silver wrench dropped. It actually looked pretty good.
This silver storyline weapon had been strengthened to +7, so that made up a little for its low attack power. It also had three valuable properties.
[ Property 1: When attacking a mechanical creature, damage will increase by 200%, and half the theoretical damage will be converted to true damage. ]
[ Property 2: When using this wrench to attack a target, it has a 33% chance of stunning the target. ]
[ Property 3: When using this wrench to attack a target, it has a 10% chance of knocking back the target. ]
But its weakness was obvious too, and that was, it was deemed a tool instead of a lethal weapon manufactured for murder, so its base attack power was very low. Even after being strengthened to +7, the wrench’s attack power was only about as high as an ordinary un-strengthened silver storyline weapon…
Dons used it because he himself possessed the ability to enchant it with flames, thus increasing its damage output. Moreover, the 33% chance of stunning was really good.
Under normal circumstances, it was pretty much just a collector’s item. Only against specific enemies or in specific worlds like the Transformers world would it turn into a lethal weapon.
Therefore, it was something which was only valuable if sold to a specific target group. Otherwise, it would only sell at a low price. It was similar to the Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee in the real world. This car model was obviously targeted at fans of the Transformers franchise. Without the Bumblebee appeal, not many people would be willing to buy the car at that price.
So Sheyan simply fed the wrench to G-spot for dessert. He was not only doing this to enrich the equipment database, but also because G- spot needed energy to switch between different weapons and equipment. Where did the energy come from? From these equipment it devoured, of course.
Of course, weapons and equipment that had no soul would provide less energy when devoured. However, the energy requirement was not that high. A silver storyline equipment was enough for G-spot to last through a high-intensity battle.
After dealing with Dons at lightning speed, Sheyan went back to Ronnie and found that his situation was getting really bad. Not only were the damn parasites on the limbs starting to counterattack, the parasites on the torso were already trying to invade into his internal organs.
Based on the speed of Sheyan’s amateur-level treatment, even if he managed to eliminate all the parasites on the torso, the time it took would be enough for the parasites on the limbs to penetrate into Ronnie’s internal organs.
Realising this, Sheyan could only sigh. He looked at Ronnie and said, “Tough luck, buddy.”
Then, Sheyan raised his weapon. Of course, the weapon had changed from Evil Sword Apophis to +13 West, or else Ronnie would be in trouble…. A few seconds later, the unlucky Ronnie once again turned into a human tilting doll. His severed hands and feet, having lost the contestant’s digitalisation protection, rotted away in just a few minutes. Even the hard bones became full of holes, like rotten wood.
And the weird parasites on them started to grow like crazy having acquired enough nutrition. The acid they spewed could even corrode into rocks, not to mention human flesh. The parasites could seemingly control the amount and the scope of coverage of the corrosive acid very well. They easily made little holes in the rocky ground that they could burrow into.
Ronnie’s limbs quickly rotted away into nothingness, leaving behind the parasitic worms that looked like clusters of wool threads. All the parasites then drilled into the rocky ground, leaving no trace behind. They were probably lying in wait for a creature to pass by, at which time they would all jump out.
The parasites in Ronnie’s torso seemed to have sensed the danger. Some parts of his body would occasionally bulge up. Sheyan aimed at a wriggling tail and gripped it with his forceps.
Sheyan accurately pinched the parasitic worm with the forceps thanks to his arm strength and hand-eye coordination. He instantly pulled back with force. However, a living worm turned out to be vastly different from a dead one. It struggled madly the moment it was gripped. Fortunately, Sheyan had the advantage in terms of Strength. He firmly clamped the worm and pulled it out slowly but steadily.
However, Ronnie suddenly started moaning in pain. It turned out that the parasite was panicking, so it was madly spewing acid out of desperation. That was bad news for Ronnie.
Sheyan was already feeling exhausted after dealing with only one parasite. He pondered for a moment. After that, he cut open Ronnie’s flesh and searched for a wriggling tail. Having found one, his hand moved like lightning. The moment he grabbed onto the parasite’s tail, he immediately pulled back with the same speed!
The parasite was already plucked out before it even had the chance to spit acid. Ronnie also did not seem to be hurt much. Once Sheyan saw that the method was effective, he instantly repeated the cycle of cutting open the flesh, looking for a worm, and pulling it out with lightning speed. Before long, he had extracted over 30 of those strange and vicious parasites from Ronnie’s body.
An ordinary person would be long dead if they had all their limbs cut off and had to undergo such torture in the hands of Sheyan, but Ronnie’s body was digitalised, so the moment the limbs were severed, the wounds had automatically shrunk to stop the bleeding. Therefore, he was actually not hurt too badly. And now that Sheyan had eliminated the source of his internal damage, Ronnie was starting to slowly recover.
And when Sheyan cut open Ronnie’s belly and extracted from inside it a lump of white eggs the size of a fist, he found that Ronnie’s “inhabited by parasite” negative status was finally removed. Ronnie was now sleeping soundly.
The assault Sheyan anticipated from the other contestants did not arrive. He had expected the next attack to come within ten minutes after he killed Dons, but more than twenty minutes had passed, and nothing out of the ordinary had happened. It seemed that, although these people were camping for Ronnie, they were not very alert.
(From Technopedia: A camper is a video gamer who finds a strategic spot within a level and waits there for players, game-controlled enemies or choice items to appear. This strategy is known as camping.)
But such an accusation against Ronnie’s enemies was extremely unfair. Yes, they were all contestants, but they had never been trained to do something so dry and boring before. They had been waiting here without doing anything for more than ten days. The first few days were alright, but the more time passed, the more the days felt like weeks. They all speculated that Ronnie must have died in the trial, so their focus was long gone.
