Lu Li sent the immortal’s body into the Wicked Bead and to that hall with varied sorts of materials. Pointing to the piles of materials, Lu Li said, “Go ahead and look for anything useful. Tell me when you find them.”
“Buzzing~”
The immortal’s body’s hand lit up in red. A red, intangible tentacle reached out toward the materials and began to search among the piles.
Lu Li waited, nervously. The Bloodvine did not know how to evolve or what kind of materials she needed. She could only rely on her instinct to see if she could find anything suitable in the piles of materials.
It had been almost an hour and Blood Fairy had put her tentacle on over half of the materials. She never stopped once, which disappointed Lu Li.
Tian Lingzi had collected such a quantity of materials. Even the Deaf Taoist could find something of high quality. But was there really nothing useful for Blood Fairy?
An hour later, Blood Fairy took her tentacle back. What she said completely let Lu Li down, “Master, I don’t desire to consume any materials here. I don’t think they can help me.”
“Well, then so be it!”
Lu Li said with pity, “Go ahead and solve the formation of illusion. I will keep reading.”
He had to rely on himself now.
Lu Li told the immortal’s body to go out and then instructed the Deaf Taoist to take care of Little White. After killing Li Qiang, Lu Li took his Interspatial Ring, which contained many Divine Sources. At least, there were enough Divine Sources to sustain Little White’s life for decades…
With everything arranged, Lu Li began to read the books, learn Fundamental Principles, cultivate divine energy and enhance his soul…
Lu Li could tell that to progress on the Fundamental Principle was difficult. Lu Li had arrived in the Divinity such a long time ago and had studied Fundamental Principle many times, yet there was no fruit.
“I should read the books on Inhibition Formations first and… maybe, after I have some deeper understanding, I can be inspired and achieve something in Fundamental Principles.”
Lu Li made up his mind. He forgot everything else and focused on reading.
One good quality of Lu Li was his mental state. He could adjust his mental state according to any given situation. He could concentrate on the matter at hand and cast aside everything that could bother or depress him.
In the hall, he was reading quietly. He was calm and focused. He had forgotten everything else. He planned to cultivate and read until Blood Fairy solved the first tier of formation.
Time zipped by. Lu Li could not tell but as he cultivated, five months had passed.
During a couple of months, everything had been peaceful. Nobody had come. Not even the Stone Golems had returned.
Blood Fairy did not give any response. Her tentacle had been in the ground. It seemed like that the five months that had passed was not rewarding. Not once did she send Lu Li a message.
Lu Li would not concern himself about what was outside when Blood Fairy did not respond. During those months, Lu Li had red hundreds of books on formations of illusion, and he had known much more about those matters.
Tian Lingzi really deserved to be called a master craftsman. Every book he collected was the best and would be considered a treasure. Tian Lingzi had been collecting books throughout his life. None of the books was common and all were top-level books on Inhibition Formations.
Lu Li seemed to look like a kid that had accessed the path of becoming a warrior for the first time, thirsty for every piece of knowledge. At the moment, he was completely immersed in his reading because he had grown very much interested in Inhibition Formations. It was a vast ocean of knowledge, much of it was related to astronomy and geography and rules in nature, which benefited Lu Li immensely.
As he kept on reading, time flew by. Another three months later, Blood Fairy finally reacted to something. She woke Lu Li up, “Master, it’s done!”
Lu Li’s eyes cleared out. He paused for one second and then dashed out of the Wicked Bead.
“What…”
When he came out, he was surprised to see the view. Everything had changed. The once blurry world now was a desert, a boundless desert.
“Blood Fairy, well done!”
Lu Li praised her and asked, “Have you solved the formation of illusion nearby or of the entire level?”
“Within a radius of three hundred miles!”
Blood Fairy replied, “But master, do not worry. I can follow you anywhere you go and can solve the formation within a radius of three hundred miles in an instant.”
“Alright!”
Lu Li walked around. He waved his hand and said, “Let’s take a look around and see if we can find others.”
The illusionary view was erased. At least, Lu Li could see the world as it was. Therefore, he should be able to meet those in here.
He finally understood that since the views he saw were unreal, he could not meet anyone else. Now that this tier of illusion was erased, Lu Li could now see reality, he should be able to meet the others.
Lu Li put away the Wicked Bead and walked around with the immortal’s body. Soon, they had crossed three hundred miles. The world in front of Lu Li became a blur again.
“Buzzing~”
The immortal’s body’s foot lit up as Bloodvine’s tentacle reached out into the ground. Lu Li waited patiently. In the time for one incense stick to burn, the entire world glowed and then the blur disappeared. The views changed. Lu Li could see the desert again.
“Let’s go!”
Lu Li pressed on with the immortal’s body. This time, he met someone after thirty miles. But… this person was dead.
“He was from the Cabinet of Cloud!”
Lu Li could remember him faintly. This man was a disciple from the Cabinet of Cloud. As Lu Li looked at the dead disciple, he was astonished. This disciple’s expression was ferocious. His robe was in a mess, and there were scratch marks on his face. Clearly, he ended up killing himself after he was driven crazy.
“He must have lost his mind due to the formation of illusion!”
Lu Li curled his lips. This disciple had not entered the level for long. He must have a weak mind.
“Let’s go!”
Lu Li waved his hand and hurried on with the immortal’s body. He wanted to go for hundreds of thousands of miles to see if he could find Lou Shi’er or Holy Princess. Besides, he must observe the situation to find a way to crack the other two tiers of formations.
After he traveled for two hundred years, Lu Li had lost track of distance. On the way, he had met three more dead people. Two of them were skeletons. They must have died years and years ago. The other one was a female disciple from the Palace of Snow Mountain. She also committed suicide after losing her mind.
“Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh~”
A day later, when the immortal’s body solved the formation of illusion again, Lu Li heard some noises coming from the distance. He saw over a dozen of people charging toward him. Lu Li used psychic power to check. He smiled and put away the immortal’s body and just stood still.
After the time for one incense stick to burn, the group of a dozen people had come over. Someone shouted from the distance, “Brother Lu, you have come here, finally. We have been waiting for you for a long time.”
Lou Shi’er, together with Holy Princess and some disciple of their sects dashed over. Their eyes were filled with excitement as if they were meeting a relative they had been parted away with for decades…
