Chapter 613: Mishap at the Clouds Plains

To the east of the territory of the Fire Leopards, there was another herd. The creatures resembled the appearances of Qilin [1]. The creatures had fires all around their bodies and they could breathe fire from their mouths. Adult Qilin creatures could compete with Noble Lord Realm warriors. There were at least a million of them, though there was only one king.
Ye Cha named the creatures Fire Qilin. Fire Qilins relied on fire and soul attack as their major mode of attack!
Yes, the Fire Qilins could emit strange energy from their eyes to attack at warriors’ souls. But the soul attacks weren’t strong. Otherwise, the 1000 warriors could easily be slayed by the Fire Qilins.
Lu Ling told the army to station outside the Fire Qilin’s territory and then told Ke Mang and Ke Lv to build an illusion formation and a destruction formation. Without those, killing Fire Qilins would impose a huge cost.
Imagine this: Tens of thousands of Fire Qilins swarmed over and all of them could breathe fire, turning the battleground into a sea of fire. The Noble Lord Realm warriors would have no place to hide and the casualties would be great.
Ke Mang had brought many materials with him. Under the instruction of Lu Ling, Ke Mang and his people built many illusion formations in a mountain range with complicated terrains.
Lu Ling had chosen a nice spot. The terrains were strange – fragmented. The illusion formations made the terrain more intricate. The warriors could hide on the peaks while the Fire Qilins would go around in circles at the bottom, misled by the illusion formations.
A dozen illusion formations were built. But Lu Ling didn’t give the order to fight yet. She gave time for Ke Mang to build destruction formations. This variety of formation could trap and kill Human Sovereign Realm warriors. If Ke Mang succeeded here, then there would be no pressure to fight against the Fire Qilins.
Ke Mang and his people constructed an ancient destruction formation at a valley. They knew this well now and could manage with ease. They spent five days to construct one.
Everything was ready now. Ye Cha moved out to lure many Fire Qilins over. They all became blind and deaf once in the illusion formations. They wandered around in circles and could not see the warriors hiding in the hills and peaks.
The slaughter became easy. At first, the Human Sovereign Realm warriors would lead the teams and slay the Fire Qilins. When everything was on track, the Noble Lord Realm warriors split into teams and took turns. They kill the Fire Qilins as if they were harvesting crops.
Killing Fire Qilins was relatively easy but it was a suffering also because Fire Qilins could breathe fire. The flames were quite horrifying. The warriors would be burnt if not careful.
The Shennong Race had an important role to play. The wounded were sent back to the new base camp here for the Shennong Race to treat. Without the Shennong Race, the more than 1000 Noble Lord Realm warriors would soon all become invalid and they would lie in the base camp and not be able to participate in the fights.
The destruction formation was activated. Hundreds of Fire Qilins were lured in and they were killed by the formation in no time. The hundreds Fire Qilins fought against each other. In a matter of hours, all had perished.
Once again, the Shadowland Race gained approval from Lu Ling and the Human Sovereign Realm warriors and their merits were recorded. Ke Mang and Ke Lv were grinning from ear to ear. They had been in the bottom half at the Deserted World. They were kept in their tribe and were picked on by other races often. Now after they began to aide Lu Li, they yielded unusually brilliant results.
Everything was on track. Lu Ling handed the commanding right to Hu Lang and went back to the valley where Lu Li was at to cultivate.
Lu Ling was a wise person. She was clear that ,while strategy and plans could make her overwhelm the more powerful, her only abilities must reach a certain stage where one move could cripple all the schemes. No trick or scheme could hold water against absolute power.
Lu Ling was of fire phoenix birth so her cultivation could progress fast. It would be a shame not to take the opportunity. Now that everything was going well, she needn’t worry. Naturally, she began to cultivate with full strength.
Everyone at the base camp became cultivation addicts. They would not sleep unless they were extremely exhausted. They would take energy pellets and kept cultivating without eating or drinking.
With endless supplies of Mystical Materials, more were making progress. It was not surprising for a talent to reach the Fate Wheel Realm from the Soul Pond Realm within a month.
Many talented disciples of the Northern Desert and the Deserted World were teleported in. A kid of the Bai Family was only 13 and he was already at the middle stage of the Fate Wheel Realm…
Bai Xiashuang had made the fifth Fate Wheel. Zi Lian-er had reached the middle stage of the Eternal Realm. Everyone was cultivating in an incredible speed.
If nothing went wrong and they could cultivate like this, in less than 10 years, many would reach the Human Sovereign Realm.
However, life wasn’t a bed of roses.
Five months later, a Noble Lord Realm warrior of the Tu Family came with the latest news from the Clouds Plains. The Serenity Plains was itchy to make trouble. The two forces at the south were bought off and they could infiltrate the Clouds Plains at any time now.
Lu Ling stopped cultivating at once. She asked about the situation in Inferno and learned that the elimination of Fire Qilins was almost wrapped up. A Fire Qilin King was trapped in the destruction formation and then killed by the Human Sovereign Realm warriors. It was only a matter of time before the remaining 300,000 Fire Qilins are killed.
Lu Ling decided to go back to the Clouds Plains with three Human Sovereign Realm warriors, leaving Hu Lang, Tu Hen and God of Meng.
Lu Li was still in closed-door cultivation. Lu Ling left without saying goodbye. If he wanted to go to the Clouds Plains, it would be convenient anyways. It wouldn’t take her long to come back either. She told Ye Cha to send Lu Li a message that she had gone back to the Clouds Plains and Hu Lang was here to take charge.
Lu Li stopped cultivating after half a month. He didn’t worry that Lu Ling had gone back to the Clouds Plains, thinking that she had merely gone to check on things. Lu Ling didn’t tell Ye Cha what was happening at the Clouds Plains.
Lu Li resumed cultivation after he asked about Inferno and Northern Desert.
It had been more than half a year since he made his previous Fate Wheel and he had built two in a row now. One more Fate Wheel, then he could integrate them into a Bead of Life and he would reach the Noble Lord Realm.
Therefore, Lu Li had been quite diligent lately, attempting to reach the Noble Lord Realm as soon as possible so that his comprehensive abilities would be improved.
For regular warriors, to reach the Noble Lord Realm was more than difficult.
But for disciples of a super family, to do so was nothing unusual as long as they were talented. It was easy for Ji Mengtian, Lu Suan, Lu Ni and Yang Xuan to make such breakthrough.
Having so many resources, Lu Li was no different from a disciple of a super family. He was the son of Lu Renhuang, a disciple of the Lu Family. Lu Li was talented. It was normal for him to improve quickly when he cultivated with heart and soul. Lu Ling had reached the middle stage of the Noble Lord Realm in over two years.
Another two months had passed. Lu Li was ready to make the last Fate Wheel when Lu Lang, Tu Hen and God of Meng suddenly came to his tent.
They had all received orders from Lu Ling to go back to the Clouds Plains. God of Meng, of course, had to ask Lu Li. Also, Lu Li would have to take command once Hu Lang and Tu Hen went back.
“Something wrong?”
Lu Li opened his eyes and noticed the anxiety of the three. Lu Ling had gone for two months without coming back. He could tell that something was going on at the Clouds Plains but he was too busy making the final Fate Wheel so he didn’t ask.
“Armies from the Serenity Plains invaded Clouds Plains!”
Hu Lang didn’t hide the information. He couldn’t even if he wanted to. He explained in a low voice, “A very powerful young lady from the Ji Family came and the Hades Society sent over a young master. They bought off the two forces at south Serenity Plains. The four forces of the Serenity Plains have assembled an army of 10 million. They set off from Serenity Plains yesterday and have begun their advance toward the Clouds Plains.”
