522 Successful Change
Inside the courtyard wall, there was no light, and it was quiet. The people in the shop had long gone to sleep. She then took out the tree branch with the rope tied to it from her space.
With a light swing, the branch was thrown to the other side of the courtyard wall.
She pulled and saw that the tree branch was stuck. She then used the rope to climb up and reached the courtyard wall in a few moments.
Then, she jumped into the courtyard.
She moved her feet sneakily and lightly.
In front of the yard was the shop that sold seeds. The few rooms behind the yard should be the side rooms where the workers and managers lived. There were sounds of snoring and breathing in them.
Jiang Yue then walked forward.
The shop was divided into two floors. The first floor was for people to buy seeds. There was also a counter with an abacus and other things on it.
When she had passed by this shop earlier, she had casually glanced at it and had seen the layout clearly.
There were stairs to the second floor, which was probably the attic that stored all kinds of seeds.
The front door of the shop was closed from the inside, but the back door led directly to the courtyard. There was probably nothing to steal here, and the person in the back room was still sleeping, so no one would usually come to steal anything. Therefore, the back door of the front shop was not locked. Jiang Yue tried her best to push the back door open without making a sound.
She successfully entered. Then, she closed the door without making any sound.
With the help of the moonlight, she could tell that there was no one in the hall.
Then, Jiang Yue quietly went to the second floor. It was indeed an attic, and no one lived there. The seeds were indeed stored in this attic. There were many gunny sacks filled with seeds of all kinds.
Jiang Yue stood by the window facing the courtyard in the attic and listened quietly for a while. When she saw that the people in the shop were really asleep and there was no movement, she took out a lighter from her arms and blew it.
It wasn’t too big, in case it became too eye-catching. It was just a little bit of light so that she could see what kind of seeds they were so that she could take them out from her space and change them.
The seeds sold in this shop were all good seeds. They looked similar to the seeds in her space. If they were changed, they wouldn’t be visible to the naked eye. However, after being planted, there would be obvious differences in production, resistance to drought, and other aspects.
By then, no one would know that she had changed the original seeds in this shop.
After changing the seeds in the attic, she went back to the first floor.
She used the same method to change the seeds on the first level.
As for the original seeds of the shop, she had already thrown them into her space. Whether she wanted to take them out or not, she could think about it later. Anyway, her space was so big that it could fit them all.
Back when she was in the post-apocalyptic world, she would sometimes put her supplies in her space. However, she didn’t have any supplies in her space on the day she came here because she was overworked.
After changing all the seeds, Jiang Yue came out of the shop and went to the courtyard. She then used the same method she used to enter the courtyard to climb up the wall and leave.
Then, she threw the branch and the rope into the space.
Changing the seeds took more time than she had expected. When Jiang Yue arrived at the place where the carriage had landed, she was not sure if Xue Erfu and Xue Sanfu had driven the carriage back.
It didn’t matter because she could always find her way back.
If they didn’t go back now, they would definitely run into her later. If they had already gone back, she wouldn’t have to wait here.
After walking back for a while, Jiang Yue heard the sound of a carriage coming from behind. She quickly hid in the darkness under the roof.
It was Erfu and Sanfu. Then, she immediately got to work. After the carriage passed, she quickly hung herself on the back of the carriage and grabbed the rope that was tied to the large wooden box.
