I watched the door of the monastery close behind me before looking ahead into an area filled with dense energy, making each breath I took lacerating.
But there is no single line of pain on my face, instead a smile.
I am feeling quite excited for things to come; I had spent four months in silence and meditation, and now I want some action; I am sure I will find a lot of it on my way to my destination.
I have already selected a place I want to go to; it will take days to reach there, but it will be worth it.
I looked for a few seconds before walking toward the south; Ashlyn and Nero were around me, scouting for any danger.
Like before, my strings are out, and I would harvest any resources I have come across. This place is filled with it; not many are compatible with me, but it is always great to have resources, especially of this level.
Around half an hour passed by before the monster had discovered me and now coming toward me.
‘It worked,’ I said with a smile.
I had spent quite a lot of time I was in a monastery working on my stealth method and even incorporated a lot of things, I had learned from the way, these monsters sensed me.
The method is obviously working, as this time; I was able to get quite close to the monster before it discovered me.
It took a few seconds for the monster to appear in front of me; it was a lion monster with a regal black mane and white body. Its eyes attacked me the most; one eye was black, while the other was white.
Roar!
It looked at me for a couple of seconds before roaring and leaping at me with such speed that my expression turned serious.
I swung my sword, using every bit of strength I have with the fear and excitement I had.
CLANNNG!
My sword clashed against its sharp, powerful claws, and I began to take a step back rapidly while gulping down the blood that came to my mouth.
The monster was the strongest I had faced, and it seemed like I had dealt with the first attack better than I had thought I would; after not fighting for four months.
Roar!
It roared, seeing me defending against its attack, and came at me much faster, and its claws were covered in black-white energy.
CLANNNG!
Once again, I had defended against the attack, but this time, I spurted out blood while taking a step back, with each step helping me deposit the physical force in the ground while at the same time dealing with a unique energy attack.
The black and white energies were separate, but when they touched my armor, they clashed, creating a powerful blast.
It was a good thing; my armor had absorbed nearly 80% of them before they clashed, or the consequences would have been catastrophic.
I immediately made a change in working on my armor; this time, I had been lucky, and next time, I won’t be.
I will not give the monster a chance to blast me.
ClANNNG!
The moment I finished with the changes, the Lion monster came at me again, clashing its claws at me, but this time, it was not all it did; it had sent a blast of powerful energy at me.
BANNNG!
The blast of energy had clashed against the seven shields that had materialized. I always have my shields around me whenever I have strings to spare, and while this monster is extremely powerful, it does not take all my strings.
ROAAR!
It roared loudly in anger before attacking me again, even faster.
CLANNNG CLANNNG CLANNG
The attack came, and when I defended against it, it launched another and then another.
It is attacking me at a very fast speed, not giving me even a moment of rest.
This style is not unique to this monster, but nearly all the monsters of this ruin fight in such a way. All of them fight with nearly all their power in a fast way, always going for the weakness.
If I am not wrong, then it is likely because of the high density of monsters in this ruin; they want to finish their prey as soon as possible and take it away with them before other monsters come and snatch it away.
I have observed it, not only through my battle but through Ashlyn and Nero.
This ruin is dangerous, and I want to know everything there is to know about this ruin; only through this way, I will have a maximum chance of survival.
If possible, then I don’t ever want to die in the teeth of a dump monster; I will take any intelligent being, humans, even Grimms, or those belonging to any other race, rather than dumb monsters.
These monsters may be dumb, but they are powerful; the lion had made me bleed in the first attack, and it cracked several of my bones.
As I had said, this is the most powerful monster I had dealt with in this ruin; it is quite strong, though not as strong as those faced by Ashlyn and Nero.
Like before, I could not face them without burning my blood.
ROOOAR!
A minute passed by, and the monster got really angry; it was not holding back at all. It had become challenging to stay rooted on the ground, as every attack of it was trying to throw me off the ground.
“Enough!” I said finally to the leaping monster, and alarm flashed across its eyes as my strings tightened around it.
‘The new weave is working better,’ I said to myself as I fended off its attacks.
I had experimented with different weaves powered for formation to bind the monsters; this one is good, better than the one I had used last time.
It also put less pressure on the strings, reducing their chance to snap quite a lot.
I could make it even better; if I was able to do it to a sufficient degree, then I might really think about facing those truly powerful monsters that Ashlyn and Nero fight.
