Chapter 759: Hostage
Seeing this, the leader of the gang couldn’t help but look over.
However, in the next second, he found a shiny dagger appearing next to his neck. The blade glinted under the sunlight.
“Wha—”
The man almost stumbled back as sweat trickled down his head. He eyed the unmoving blade, his hands shaking in his side. How could this be?
There, behind him, was the young girl he had underestimated.
“Please,” he choked out. “Please don’t kill me.”
His face turned pale, as his legs quaked under him. A part of him wanted to fall down and beg her, but he was afraid that the blade she was holding would spare no hesitation in cutting him.
She chuckled.
“I thought you were planning to take me hostage and kill my friends?”
The dagger dug deeper into the man’s skin. The metallic scent wafted around them, as blood slowly trickled down his nicked skin. He shivered.
No! He couldn’t die today, he couldn’t!
How could this girl sneak up on him?
He had been watching Yao Tang’s fight the entire time, observing her every move. His eyes had never left her, and he was clearly too far away for her to chase after him.
“How did you get here? How?”
His gaze shifted from side to side, trying to find a way to escape.
Now that he was being held hostage by this monster, he could be killed at any second! His hands shook as he glanced over at the girl’s icy stare.
He didn’t want to die!
Moreover, he was their leader. If he died, then his subordinates wouldn’t even think about completing the mission he had initially set out.
“Please,” he stuttered.
“If you don’t want to die,” she said coldly. “Then tell them to stop.”
He stared at his men.
If he had ordered his subordinates to stop now, he’d definitely died. He needed to find a way to turn this around for his own benefit. He gritted his teeth.
There was only one way.
“Everyone!” He cleared his throat. “Listen up.”
Everyone who had been attacking President Tan and Tan Jian stopped what they were doing. They glanced over to the side, realizing that their leader had been captured.
“What’s going on? How did he get caught?”
“Do we still continue?”
“Did the money we had talked about still count?”
The men shared a glance, frowning. It was also some time to give the two men some space to breathe.
They stayed seated on the ground, panting. Sweat coated their entire skin, and their legs were practically shaking from exhaustion.
“Don’t worry about me,” he suddenly responded. “As long as you capture the men, I’ll be safe!”
Their eyes widened.
Immediately, everyone rushed in President Tan’s direction, fully prepared to capture them once more.
Although the man was scared, he still treasured his life. Besides, his group of men could take on these two men anytime. He just needed them as a bargaining chip.
Only then would he have a chance to survive.
Only then could he negotiate with this girl.
President Tan clenched his fists. “Tangtang, you don’t have to worry about us! Just run as far as you can! You’ve already helped enough.”
“Yeah! Leave us!” Tan Jian swung his wooden stick in different directions, bashing some of them on their skulls.
The others slumped over, groaning in pain.
“We can hold them off!”
Yao Tang resisted the urge to snort.
If she left, then these two people would be beaten to death.
She waved her dagger.
Within the next second, the leader’s body fell limp on the ground. Blood spurted from his neck, and he choked in disbelief. He glanced over at Yao Tang as his vision started to fade.
How could this be?
He had just wanted to bargain with her.
But it was too late.
She killed him.
When everyone saw that their leader was lying in a pool of blood, their eyes widened. They gazed at Yao Tang whose eyes were as cold as night.
She killed him!
