Yan Wei’s lips curled into a mocking smirk. “Got it.”
Soon, the car ground to a stop outside the Yang family villa.
It was located in a high-end residential district in the suburbs. The security was tight, and guests needed verified permission in order to enter.
More people were arriving, while Yang Nianstood at the gates to greet them.
He now approached the car and greeted them as they came out.
“Sorry for making you wait,” Yan Weisaid.
“Hello, Young Master Yang,”Yao Rangreeted shyly.
Yang Nian was still as gentle and pleasant as ever. “Let’s go,” he said with a smile. “I’ll escort you guys inside.”
Yan Wei was eager to get into the villa. No one knew when all of the guests would arrive, and she had no intention of waiting for who knew how long. She might as well sit comfortably and eat some snacks.
Just as she was about to take a step forward, however, she heard Yao Ranspeak in that sickening, sweet voice of hers. “It’s all right,Young Master Yang. It’s our fault for arriving early. It would be better for us to wait here, and we can all go inside together.”
Yang Nian nodded and did not insist any further.
Yan Wei, on the other hand, rolled her eyes to the side. She struggled to stifle her anger and not lash out at Yao Ran. She couldn’t do that, not withYang Nianaround.
Just then, another figure walked past the gates.
It caught Yang Nian’s attention, mainly because the person’s gait was a little familiar. He frowned slightly as he watched the girl pass by.
Before she could completely disappear, Yang Nianfound himself calling out to her. “Is that you, StudentYao Tang?”
A hush fell over the small crowd at the mention of her name.
Yan Wei andYao Ranboth turned in the direction ofYang Nian’s gaze, their expressions dark and a little hostile.
As for the other guests, they knew that Yao Tang and Yan Wei had a grudge to settle, and they were rather looking forward to what would happen next. But they had heard the uncertainty in Yang Nian’s voice, and they knew it wouldn’t do them any good to open their mouths.
The girl didn’t react to Yang Nian’s words and continued on her way, as If she had heard nothing at all.
A normal person wouldn’t have ignored someone calling out their name, especially when it was so out of the blue.
At the very least, she should have perked up from her phone and looked around.
Therefore, the party concluded that the girl wasn’t Yao Tang.

She saw Li Ruo’s mouth moving, but she couldn’t hear anything through her headphones.
Yao Tang smirked and pulled her headphones off. “What’s the matter?” she asked coldly. “Why are you getting in my way?”
Li Ruo realized then that the other girl hadn’t heard everything she had said just now.
She flushed in embarrassment under Yao Tang’s piercing glare.
