They met once many years ago.
The President asked in a trembling voice, “You… You are Li Zhixing?”
Li Zhixing smiled calmly and said, “It’s an honor that someone still remembers me after all these years.”
The President had been the President for so many years. He was concerned about some of the secrets in the capital. He asked curiously, “Aren’t you dead? You should have died back then.”
“Surviving a disaster means that I will have good fortune in the future.”
When the President heard Li Zhixing’s words, he felt a chill spreading through his bones. This chill made the President wonder if it was a mistake for him to meet Li Zhixing on impulse.
“Since you’re alive, why didn’t you publicly announce that you were coming back? Why did you decide to lay low?”
The President did not understand why Li Zhixing did that. After all, Li Zhixing was also an Empire citizen. The Empire did not mistreat Li Zhixing.
Why did he do such a thing?
Li Zhixing looked at the various sculptures in the exhibition hall and said, “Your presidency came to see me today not because you wanted to ask me about this. Mr. President, it has been many years since I returned to the Empire. I’ve noticed that the Empire is growing rapidly. Thank you for your great contributions to the Empire all these years.”
The President was about to go insane. He risked his life to meet Li Zhixing not to hear him talk about this. He just wanted to know what was going on.
He thought Li Zhixing was dead, but he knew he didn’t come back with good intentions.
“Li Zhixing, I don’t want to see you. I want to see my wife and children.”
Li Zhixing smiled lightly. “Please follow me.”
The two of them left the art museum, but the President panicked. He was afraid that Li Zhixing would ask for more and make more impossible demands of him.
Li Zhixing held a filled wine glass in his hand that looked like it contained blood. The liquid rose and fell as he rocked the wine glass. “You seem afraid of me, Mr. President. There’s no need to be afraid of me. I’ve always been friendly to my allies.”
The President thought to himself, ‘Yeah, right. How could he call himself “friendly” after chopping his son’s hand off?’
“Mr. President, after you.”
The two of them entered a luxurious villa, in which the President saw his wife and son. One of his son’s hands was wrapped in a thick white bandage. Blood had seeped through the edge of the bandage. It looked ghastly.
“Son, are you alright?”
The President hugged his son. He was so pampered that he never experienced something like this.
He hugged his father and cried until tears and snot flowed down his face. “Dad, please, save me.”
The President looked at Li Zhixing. “Li Zhixing, this is between you and me. You shouldn’t take it out on my family. You…”
Li Zhixing sat on the chair and looked at the President casually. He said coldly, “Mr. President, have you forgotten how many terrible things your son has done? He got away with all of it because his father is the President! If it wasn’t for you protecting him as the President, he would have died seven or eight times already! Consider me cutting off one of his hands as an act of kindness towards him.”
The President knew that his son was not a good person, but how could he say that? After all, he was the son that he had painstakingly begged for. If he did not protect him, then who would?
