The lift button for the fifth floor lit up.
Huo Yulin looked up at the digital panel in the elevator as the numbers kept rising. He was clearly impressed, but he quickly composed himself and asked. “Why are you so familiar with the institute?”
How could an outsider know the institute floor plan so well?
Huo Yao answered mildly as she continued working. “I randomly glanced at the building floor plan when I first hacked into the system.”
The institute floor plan was considered to be top secret, but the hacker looked at it randomly. Huo Yulin’s lips twitched uncontrollably.
Even though Huo Yulin was unable to discern the hacker’s tone of voice, he could tell that the hacker was very confident.
It took a really brilliant hacker to say such things.
Before long, the lift arrived on the fifth floor in just three seconds.
Huo Yao had yet to crack into the security system on the fifth floor, so she said, “Wait in the lift for 20 seconds.”
Level one alert was activated throughout the institute. If Huo Yulin walked out of the lift, he would get attacked by the infrared sensors again.
The lift was quite some distance from the end of the corridor, so it was impossible for him to avoid all the infrared sensors.
“Okay,” said Huo Yulin and stood there without moving.
For some reason, he felt the hacker was on his side and would never hurt him.
In the past, he would never have felt this way.
Huo Yulin felt surprised that he would react in this manner.
Time passed second by second. 20 seconds later, Huo Yao hit enter.
Huo Yao could see a pop-up appearing on the screen indicating she had succeeded. She exhaled and said, “All clear.”
Huo Yulin had only been to the fifth floor twice, so he did not know the place very well. When he heard the hacker giving him the all-clear, he walked out of the lift.
Sure enough, the infrared sensors had stopped moving.
He ran down the corridor without hesitation.
The alarm system kept going throughout the institute. As time went on, he felt even more worried.
Fortunately, there were no guards on the fifth floor, so Huo Yulin got to the end of the corridor with no trouble.
There was a glass window at the corner of the corridor. The buildings were not directly connected. If he wanted to get to the next building, he had to cut the glass open and climb out.
Worse still, the only connecting path between the two buildings were two narrow square columns lying horizontally between them and the path looked slippery.
The fifth floor was over ten meters high. If he slipped and fell, he would die without a doubt.
Huo Yao had already explained that it was dangerous.
Huo Yulin had no choice. This was the only path he could take.
All the security guards were armed, so it was impossible for him to fight them empty-handed.
Huo Yulin felt that there was no other way, so he went with Huo Yao’s suggestion.
Huo Yao looked at the security camera and could see the security guards swarming upstairs. She quickly worked on her computer and reactivated the infrared sensors on the fifth floor. “I will help in slowing them down. You have to work quickly.”
“Uh huh,” acknowledged Huo Yulin. He was mentally prepared for the worst before he had set off. He took out his surgical knife looking at the glass window. He pressed on the handle and a sharp pointed blade shot out.
The surgical knife was specially made. He cut the glass on the window and made an opening the size of a human on it!
