Tang Lingfei eyed her granddaughter who was looking more and more like her Meixiu especially when Lu Xinyi frowned like that.
“However, his happiness didn’t last long when he found out that Shi Yimu was carrying a girl in her womb. He wanted to gain a son, an heir that could inherit the company when the time comes he needed to step down. Sun Mingai was born, and the following year, Shi Yimu got pregnant again with a girl who was Sun Ruying.”
Lu Xinyi arched a brow.
“Then, she finally bore him a son. Sun Feiyan’s father, Sun Weijun,” she commented.
Tang Lingfei nodded.
“Smart girl.” She commended her granddaughter, “Xin’er, aren’t you curious why Sun Weijun was born in the same year with your mother?” she asked with humor in her voice.
Lu Xinyi tilted her head on one side and pondered about it. Indeed, not only her mother shared the same year of death with Sun Feiyan’s father but also the birth year.
“According to your story, Chairman Sun hated you and wouldn’t dare to touch you. I can only think of two scenarios. It’s either that my mother wasn’t his child and a Sun or you took drastic ways to get pregnant with his child.”
The old woman seemed to laugh at that.
“I assure you, Xin’er, I didn’t sleep with another man to bear your mother. She’s truly Sun Liuxian’s daughter. He could deny her, but he also knew inside him that Meixiu was his.”
“So how did you become pregnant? Didn’t they say you have a hard time getting pregnant, and that was the reason why your husband cheated on you?”

“Surprised? You didn’t think I could do it?” Tang Lingfei swirled her drink before taking a sip. The warm drink passed on her throat smoothly, giving her a comforting feeling against the coldness of the weather.
“I just didn’t think that you’ll still want to sleep with a man who repeatedly hurt your feelings purposely,” Lu Xinyi admitted.
“This is why we shouldn’t make a decision when we’re angry. When Shi Yimu got pregnant for the third time, I heard that it was a son. Once again, she regained my husband’s favor. I was so mad that she used it and laughed right into my face.
“A mere mistress of my husband insulting me? I couldn’t take it. When Sun Liuxian came home, I spiked up his drink and slept with him. Of course, when he found out what I did, he was furious. He forced me to take an after-day pill, but I refused, ran away, and stayed with my brother for a few weeks.”
