Hearing Shen Yi’s intimidating voice, those who insulted Lu Xinyi shivered. They instantly shut their mouths and spread like rats that were caught by the cat. Shen Yi stood tall beside his wife and swept his gaze over the crowd who dared to insult Lu Xinyi.
Just how wealthy was this man that he would throw money on Lu Xinyi?
“I’ve never been called rubbish by anyone before. How could they just call me names just because I’m not originally from this town?” Lu Xinyi looked up to Shen Yi with teary eyes. One tear rolled down her cheeks.
Seeing his wife being insulted and pushed to cry by these people, Shen Yi’s heart was in pain.
How easy was it for a stranger to throw those hurtful words to a person they’d never bothered to know? It was like they were thinking that Lu Xinyi didn’t have feelings at all!
“Xinxin, no one can insult and bully you while I’m with you! Just tell me who offended you, and this one will make sure the whole Shen family will come after them! I swear that I will not let the sun set if before I served you justice!”

Shen Yi’s words made the audience’s heart tremble. If he was part of the Shen family, then they shouldn’t really test his temper by offending Lu Xinyi.
Indeed, being the wife of the infamous president of the Shen Group did come with its own pros and cons—not that Lu Xinyi minded at all. Unlike her, Shen Yi was born with a golden spoon in his mouth. He got everything he wanted with a single point of his finger, and no one dared to reject him. Ever.
With that flawlessly handsome face of his, Lu Xinyi knew that he could have any girl that he wanted—that was if there were still flies that could keep on flocking towards him. Lu Xinyi grinned to herself. Out of all those women that surpassed her in terms of beauty and wealth, he had chosen her.
Mo Lihui’s heart skipped a beat hearing Shen Yi’s voice for the second time since she met him. She could vividly remember the first time she saw him.

Taking out his phone from his pocket upon hearing the persistent ringing coming from it, Shen Yi placed it to his ear as he hurriedly picked up his pace to go back to Peach Blossom Resort. The side of his face was kissed by the afternoon sunlight, highlighting his presence at the picturesque scenery he’s visited.
“Yes,” he answered. A frown etched on his face in slight annoyance at the caller on the other end. “I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”
Not long after he ended the call, something caught his attention. A few meters away from him was a young woman dressed in a white chef uniform. She was on her knees, almost in a crawling position, with an arm stretched out as if trying to locate something. She was at the side of the road, a dangerous area to be. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
It only took a moment to Shen Yi to know that she couldn’t see well and was trying to get her glasses back. Without thinking twice, he swept the area with his eyes and found the item the woman was looking for. He took it under the mailbox and swiftly pulled the woman’s arm away from the busy road where impatient drivers slammed their horns to tell her to go out of the way.
Long, dark, curly hair with almond-shaped brown eyes. Shen Yi registered her features in his mind, but he couldn’t find anything interesting about this one.
Calmly, he placed the eyeglasses he found into her hands and released it as if he was burned. He wanted to get on his way as soon as possible.
“It’s either you are dumb or you’re really stupid.” Shen Yi bit out. “Here. This is yours.”
Mo Lihui, the woman that he left, blushed and still visually unaided. She was on her way back to the Blue Haven Restaurant when a group of bikers hit her, causing her eyeglasses to be thrown away and her shopping bag left forgotten on the ground.
“Wait!” Sensing that her savior was about to take his leave, Mo Lihui called out after putting her glasses on so she could see clearly.
Shen Yi halted and looked over his shoulders. Mo Lihui’s jaws dropped when she saw his face. How could be there’s a man more beautiful than a woman? He was so handsome that it was almost impossible to believe such a person existed!
“You’re welcome.” He cut her off, not wanting to waste more time than he already had.
“W-what?” Mo Lihui’s brows furrowed, clearly confused.
“You want to thank me for helping you?” Shen Yi nonchalantly asked, his attention quickly turned to his forgotten phone.
“Yes.” Her face brightened. “Thank you for saving me.”
Shen Yi spared her a glance, giving her a nod, before he made his way and left her completely at the safe area.
Mo Lihui smiled and clutched her hand that Shen Yi touched close to her heart. Since that day, she tried to find out his identity; but her efforts only led her to Peach Blossom Resort where it said Shen Yi was just a frequent VIP guest of the estate.

Ah, just look at her face! Lu Xinyi sneered inwardly as she watched Mo Lihui ogle at her husband. Couldn’t she tell that Shen Yi didn’t have any interest in her?
Although Shen Yi had long been accustomed to being stared at, he didn’t appreciate women staring at him like a pack of wolves. He frowned, keeping his hold on Lu Xinyi’s hand. People held their breath. Even in a bad mood, Shen Yi’s face still bore his devilishly handsome features.
“Lu Xinyi, together, we will let everyone see who’ll lose face today.”
