The school realized something wasn’t right when they counted the number of students.
“Mr. Yang, how many of your students are missing?” asked Gongsun Mu.
Mr. Yang was overwhelmed with anxiety.
“Many have come back, but a few students are missing, including Shan Jingfei!”
The other tutors paled when they heard this.
Meanwhile, the school officials held a meeting.
Over ten people attended, including the two deputy chiefs and the tutors of Classes A and B.
“Shan Jingfei is the best student in Class B. That place in the seeded team is meant for her.”
The Class A tutor told the truth.
No one said a word for a while.
“Miss Qingluan, what do you think?” Everybody looked at her.
Zuo Qingluan hadn’t made any achievements ever since she became the deputy chief, nor had she said anything convincing.
Because of her background, people hadn’t said anything at first. However, dissatisfaction would accumulate over time.
Zuo Qingluan raised her eyebrows. “Do we know why this has happened? Why did the Secret Essence Mine appear?”
Gongsun Mu nodded. “We’ve sent some elders to check the area and found it to be the consequence of the actions of some very capable cultivators. The entire Thousand Night Forest was split in half by a great valley, which was why the Secret Essence Mine surfaced.”
“How capable?” Zuo Qingluan asked.
Gongsun Mu smiled bitterly, “Well, I can’t say for sure…”
Just then, he suddenly straightened his back.
He rose to his feet and listened carefully.
Everybody was surprised.
What was happening?
Why did he look like his mind was elsewhere?
Zuo Qingluan was alarmed.
Her master had communicated with her several times that way, and she wondered if Gongsun Mu was doing the same thing.
“Yes, Sir!” Gongsun Mu said to someone in a respectful tone, before he turned to the others.
“I know what happened,” he said solemnly. “The valley was indeed the result of a battle between two capable cultivators.”
“Who were they?” Zuo Qingluan asked curiously.
Could it be someone as capable as her master?
Gongsun Mu said one name: “Chu Tianxiao.”
What?!!!
Almost everyone jumped to their feet.
“Chu Tianxiao? How can it be him? I thought he was dead!”
“Chu Tianxiao, as in, the greatest swordsman?”
“Isn’t he the disciple of Mu Jiuzhou, who used to rule this continent?”
“Oh my god!” Mr. Yang almost fainted. “He’s like a god! Why would he come here?”
In their minds, Chu Tianxiao was as good as a figure from the legends.
He was still alive…
How old would he have to be?
Zuo Qingluan paled.
Chu Tianxiao…
He had once accused Zuo Qingluan’s master of being inhuman in front of everyone, and had rendered her master speechless. He had humiliated Firmament Palace! Why was he here?
