Gu Wushuang glanced over at the newly promoted manager of Sales.
Ma Hing was a smart one and also too young to be scared of anything. He immediately walked out of the conference room. “I’ll go talk to their Strategics and let them know that we would like to take this opportunity today to meet with their CEO.”
Huo Wencheng’s face dropped. That’s Gu Wushuang straight up did not believe in his words.
But he didn’t stop Ma Hing. Sneering, he waited for this new manager to bring back bad news.
Never mind that the Gu family was already going downhill. Even at their peak, Gu Jiangxin had never met this mysterious CEO whose main focus was allegedly overseas.
“Boss Wushuang!”
Ma Hing came running back with an excited look in less than 5 minutes.
“The assistant of Strategics told me that they would bring us up to their CEO’s office right now! Their CEO said they would communicate with us directly on matters regarding our partnership.”
Gu Wushuang’s eyes lit up. “Oh, I see. No wonder they had us waiting here.”
Huo Wencheng’s look was filled with surprise.
When Gu Wushuang stood up, turned, and saw him still sitting at the same spot, dazed with a look filled with surprise, she was displeased immediately.
That was not the spouse that she had in mind!
They were all authority figures of a company and he should be able to handle facing others in stride.
Yet, her husband, her man, looked like he had been blessed when the other party suggested to meet. He acted like he had just seen one of the 9 miracles.
How could she be okay with that?
Every step from Strategics to the CEO area was difficult for Gu Wushuang.
In the past, she thought that Huo Wencheng was the best among all of his peers.
He was handsome with a scholarly look, profound, and always had good grades since he was a child. He double majored when he went overseas and took over the Huo Corporation after he his return. He was almost the best among their generation.
But now… she seemed to have been wrong in the past.
Gu Wushuang looked at the CEO office at end of the hallway that they were getting closer and closer to and her heart began to waver.
This company was only formed 6 years ago and had since became the company that everybody wanted to work with from China to overseas.
How old was the boss of this company?
She supposed he couldn’t be that old, right?

The CEO area on the top floor occupied half of the floor.
In addition to the CEO’s office, there was also the CEO’s area along with international conference room.
Half way over, Gu Wushuang subtly turned and checked her appearance in the glass wall in the hallway.
She had on a set of Chanel lavender dress suit today. It was their latest style this year.
Pushing her strand of stray hair behind her ear, she pressed her red lips together quickly.
For the sake of today’s meeting, she had picked a poised and official bright red color lipstick. It had rid her of her usual fragile and helpless look and, instead, given her the feel of a mature woman and being in control.
Gu Wushuang was quite pleased with how she looked right now.
Ever since she had slowly taken over control of the company, she had been more and more intoxicated by power.
Having the power to make things happen was way more exciting than having tea at home and shopping.
She began to fall in love with this feeling.
Her temperament began to metamorphosize.
In her red heels, she took a few steps forward and walked in front of Huo Wencheng.
With a smile on her and her chest pushed out, she stood in front of the office door indicated by the assistant.
The assistant knocked carefully.
“Come in.”
The words from inside the office was clear, steady, and concise.
Gu Wushuang’s heart skipped a beat.
She had taken piano lessons since she was a child and she was good with sound.
She was very certain that the owner of this voice could not over 40 years of age.
And, it was also somewhat… familiar.
